Hopefully we can draft one of Popogaev, Rasanen, Comtois. All should be 1st round considerations but have some sort of problem holding them back and preventing them from being picked in the 1st. They will be steals mark my words -

Heck in my fantasy league I had the 22nd overall pick and Vesaleinen slipped right into my fingertips who was a top 10 lock until he was slumping but he played in a men's league. Good power forward and yeno them Finns. Always got a knack for producing top notch talent ala Laine, JP, Selanne, etc -

I'd say on the clock. If Patrick's slips to 5, then there's no point in trading back. Got our franchise player other than Bo to replace Sedins when they say it's time -

Dream scenario right here. We'd have a good chance of picking up Necas who I believe has the potential to be one of the best players in the draft behind Hischier, Patrick, Vilardi, Makar -

I'd do our 5th and 2nd rounder for both their 1sts. It would do wonders for our rebuild -

I'd do this all day. 2 1sts is better than one any time. You have the luxury of choosing kids who have the potential to be studs and stars in the league. However, you can find all throughout the draft as TL mentioned so maybe staying at 5 may be a smart move -

I'll be pretty disappointed if we picked Pettersson and we didn't trade down where we could've gotten extra assets and picked Pettersson as well. But going to be positive and say we're going to pick a great player that will be the cornerstone of the franchise for many years. but please if we could trade down for extra assets for Pettersson or just pick Vilardi at 5, I'll be a happy cookie -

Nothing. Just pissed we didn't pick Tkachuk/Keller/Nylander last year. I love Juolevi but we really needed a forward. We were forced to used career AHLers(Chaput, Megna) because of that. Vilardi is just a kid im love with and he would be top 3 if he had top notch skating -

If we don't pick Vilardi and he's available, I'll probably be done with management -
Not a bad idea. Don't know him as well but I was thinking more like Collins. Really love the Anunoby pick though. Good 3 point shooter which is what we need more of based on what we watched this Finals. It's all about hitting your shots when you get a chance to.
-
Butler to Minny. T Wolves will be a team to watch next season. No LaVine, Dunn but having Butler with Wiggins is going to be frightening to play against. Anunobe looks like a solid pick. 6'7" kid with a long wingspan. Good rim protector. This kid really looks promising. Looking forward to how he fits in with the group

Rumours swirling that Raps are looking to move JV along with our 1st round pick. I like JV but willing to package him for the right deal

Ditto. This. Benning and his scouts knows way more about the kids in this draft than me or most here but lots of people on here know who most the players are in terms of how they play, their qualities, and NHL projections. I prefer we go BPA and most likely our targets will all be available. Hopefully he considers Mittelstadt, Necas as well as I really think they'll have great NHL careers. Just my instinct -

The team has been in tough when they're trying to get back to .500. It's as if they're battling against themselves. Tonight, chance to get within a game of the mark with Biagini and hopefully he breaks his slump for the team! -
PG will definitely make the Lakers a much better team than they were last year. Not sure if it will make them a playoff bound team but it will put them on the outside looking in. Ingram, Randle, Zubac may be the untouchables of the team. Clarkson, Nance Jr are somewhat untouchable but can easily be part of a package for PG. with Lonzo most likely being handed the keys to lead the team for many years, he's going to need some big time scorers. Ingram, Clarkson, Randle are solid but they will have to have someone to learn from. Deng is crap now, so PG is as good a chance you'll get to keep getting better as a player and as a team. Westbrook can join as well. They'll become a super team of their own and imagine LeBron joining also. That's going to be one hell of a frightening team. Can't wait till the draft though
-
Wow can't believe Russell has been dealt. I actually like the potential the kid had. Tough start to his career though especially how bad the Lakers were this past season. He gets a fresh start in Brooklyn and I wish him all the best. This pretty much confirms the Lakers will select Ball but they can easily pick Jackson, Tatum but Ball should easily be the pick. I'm assuming they'll pick a center with the 2nd pick but they can easily go with a SF or PF. I'm assuming they'll pick BPA as it is a deep draft. Excited for both the Lakers and the Raps this draft! Looking forward to who they'll select!

Benning is right. We need speed and skill. We have Horvat, Granlund, Baer, Boeser, Goldobin, Dahlen all in the picture along with Hutty, Stecher, Tanev, and most likely Holm, Chatfield with Sbisa likely Vegas bound. That's why I feel Benning is leaning towards picking a forward. Now say if Vilardi, Glass are gone, they have a couple D options who have Karlsson/Werenski like potential in Makar and Heiskanen respectively but also Mittelstadt, Necas, Pettersson are fine options as well. I believe our D core and depth has to be one of the best in the league and can't forget the return of Tram after his deal is done in Russia. Therefore, I have a feeling we will go with a forward. Vilardi is my pick from the get go and I ain't backing away. Kid has star written all over him. Don't care about his skating issues as it can easily be fixed like with Bo. He's a good all around player and someone you can build around in the future. Makar would be my choice if we have absolutely no choice with the centers and Benning doesn't have any of his targets available. Solid, mobile, aggressive, physical, good in his own end, has the potential to be a good PPQB which is what we need. I like the way the direction the team is heading anyways. Young, fast, skill, meat and potatoes players is the way to go. We're going to be a contender in no time -
Lakers are my 2nd favourite team and only US team I've grown to like with the Clippers not getting enough done in the playoffs. It's quite a bright future for the Lakers. Hasn't been the same since Kobe left and ended his career with a 60 point performance. Ingram, Russell, Randle are good pieces for LA to build around and they have this year's pick as well. Fultz will probably go to Philly so Lakers will have quite a lot of options ranging from Ball to Tatum, Fox, Jackson. I think they'll pick Ball. Russell is a good PG but he's not a franchise player you build while Ball has the potential to be a good, consistent scorer and a All Star. Can dish it out, solid mid range game, take it to the lane and create chances to get to the line. I won't be disappointed if we pick him up

Can't believe the draft is just around the corner. At first, I was all worried about our protection list for the expansion draft. Now that's out of the way, we can focus more on our pick. I was hoping we'd go with a center since we are quite deep in D after last year' pick of Juolevi plus signings of Holm and Chatfield. We may even be in on Alzner since we may lose Sbisa with him being exposed. With our pick, I really want Vilardi, Heiskanen, Makar for D if any one of them are available. I'll be happy with Glass, Pettersson, Necas if both Vilardi, Heiskanen are taken as they have high ceilings and good shot of becoming stars with their combination of size, skill and playmaking along with playing a 200' game. Benning announced he wants a playmaking center and there's quite a group of them with the group I mentioned above. Necas has some great upside in his game and most likely we won't pick but whoever does will get a good player. I could see him being a star in the league easy. Glass, Vilardi all play the game with aggression and think the game at a high level. Great puck handlers, playmaking, vision, IQ and both can protect the puck quite well. With Benning, I really don't know what to expect especially after last year' pick. Glass, Vilardi, (Makar, Heiskanen if we really need a PPQB) are all my options that I'd want with Vilardi most likely having the edge when it's all said and done but knowing Benning, if he goes with Pettersson especially having chemistry and being good friends with Dahlen over Glass, Heiskanen, Vilardi, I'll be happy as well. One thing is for sure CDC will explode with whoever we pick but we will hopefully be accepting with who we end up with -
Celts agree to trade #1 overall to the 76ers for 3rd overall, 2018 and 2019 1st round picks. This confirms Philly will pick Markelle Fultz and won't pursue Lowry. They are going to be a team to watch down the road with Simmons, Embiid, Covington and now most likely Fultz. Confident the Raps can re-sign Lowry and potentially Ibaka as well for the right prices. We also have a pick to look forward and hopefully a kid like Dillon Brooks is still around our pick. Good future ahead for the Raps also with Wright, Poeltl, Bebe, Siakam and can't forget about Caboclo

Vilardi is everything you'd want from a franchise center. He does a lot of great things with the puck. Brilliant puck handler, playmaker, shot, pass, solid in all 3 zones, great along the boards and play with an edge. Buries chances when they come upon. My comparable would be our once very own Ryan Kesler. He likes to hog the puck a lot and does a good job protecting. If we pick him, he would be our heir to him and potential replacement for the Sedins as they near the end of an illustrious career. I hope we can somehow win the Cup next year since they truely deserve one and anything is possible with positive thinking! Back to Vilardi, if he slips, he will be a gem. He's everything you'd want from a center and can play wing at times if he needs to. Lots of good players but if he's available, I'll not think twice and select him. No brainer imo. If we have to, we should trade for Dallas' pick to make it happen. Cmon Trader Jim, I know you have it in you! -

I'm actually just playing. I doubt Ronaldo comes back to United. He already has everything he needs in Madrid and he's winning all the major trophies where as for United we're just starting to gain traction around the world and working our way up again to become one of the best in Europe again. We also need to improve our league performance but with Mourinho, I'm sure he'll find a way to make it all work. It's going to be a heavy fixture schedule but Mourinho will be able to rest players and play them in matches that matter most. Signing Lindelof is a great start. Bale, Morata would cap off a marvelous summer spree. Hopefully it comes to fruition -

Glass, Vilardi, Makar, Heiskanen are all fine picks if Benning goes with any of the 4. Won't be surprised if he goes off the board and picks Pettersson, Necas. Both these kids have high ceilings and potential to be star players. But the fab 4 above have even higher potential and a good chance of making impacts as early as next season. Glass is my preferred pick but if he's taken early, Vilardi is a pretty solid consolation prize. Both are gritty players, solid in all 3 zones, finish chances when the opportunities come, and can create plays themselves and find teammates when they run out of ice to skate in. Glass would have to be my pick though if he's available. Tall, great skill, hands. It's a wide open draft but I'm excited. Can't believe we're a week away from it.
