Solid move for the Sens. They firmly have a core in place now and DeBrincat solidifies that. Multiple 40 goal seasons to his name. I feel that the Hawks could’ve pinched for more. Let’s see how it works out for both teams. I see Sens winning this trade so far but Hawks could also win this depending on who they pick tonight

Yeah you can say that. I haven’t been following most of this year’s prospects and just been stat watching for the most part. I just have a good gut feeling about the kid. I’d be ecstatic if Mintyukov, Korchinski, Kasper, Miro are among those still available at our pick. Then we’ll have ourselves a dilemma on who we’d pick.

I think we pick Lambert. Projected top 5 pick who has slipped because of character issues as well as play on the ice. He will become this year’s Liljegren

Late thoughts. I predict a Miller trade for a top 10 pick + could happen. A team like Ottawa is shopping their pick. Take their #7, Batherson, Brannstrom and a solid prospect for Miller. If a team offers more then I’m all for it. With our pick I’m hoping we land a D, preferably one of Mintyukov, Korchinski, Pickering, Mateychuk. If there’s a good FWD available as well like Nazar, Kasper, Miro, Geekie, Savoie then it would be nice to pick one of them up. I feel D is our most pressing need and has to be addressed this draft. Up front we look set. Say we acquire another 1st rounder via a Miller trade then we could definitely use it to add another young forward to the prospect pool. Very excited. He’ll address a need this team has needed for years. The backend is a weak point in our prospect pool. It is also somewhat in the big club. He’s a guy I’ve had my eye on for quite some time. Pretty interesting prospect. Let’s get the ball rolling already!

Any wild cards we should be targeting with our 1st pick? I have my eyes on a few. These aren’t wild cards but they could potentially be available when we pick. Kasper, Geekie, Nazar, Lambert are all solid forward targets. In the backend, Bichel, Korchinski, Mintyukov, Pickering could all be available. Ohgren, Yurov and Miro are good options as well. I would prefer we address our backend. That’s the main goal this offseason. I would be happy if any of the D I mentioned are available at 15. They are all solid pieces to build around. That doesn’t mean we won’t consider drafting a forward. If there’s a top notch forward that falls into our lap, we have to consider picking them up. We’ll wait and see. Good to see. Cull is very deserving of this promotion. He’s helped developed some good, young players in Utica as well as leading the team to many good seasons. Yeo is a solid addition to our staff. I think he’s a upgrade over the departing Shaw. Colliton as new HC of Utica will be interesting to watch as well. Looking forward to how they make an impact this upcoming season

I personally think we should pick a D this draft. Bichsel, Korchinski, Mintyukov are sexy options out there. But if a player like Lambert, Geekie, Kasper are available to pick as well, then I’ll be happy to pick him up. Obviously D is more of our need but if there’s a high profile FWD still available for the taking then I’m all for that as well. I’m very happy that we finally have a 1st round pick to work with again. It makes the draft more exciting to look forward to. Just a week and bit left before it all gets underway. Let’s go!
