Who here is actually happy with the Hronek trade?
BarnBurner replied to Odd.'s topic in Canucks Talk
We'll see. Lots of people believe Brisebois was instrumental in building the Stanley Cup champs. Yzerman did build a solid core, minus Hedman and Stamkos, but couldn't get them over the hump. -
Who here is actually happy with the Hronek trade?

Wow. You're pretty high on Stevie Y. He's been all over the place with his moves this summer. Let's see how this all works out in a couple of years. -
[Report/Rumour] Elias Pettersson Contract Talks

If that was the offer, major pass. Plus, the 1st RD pick would be around 22nd or 23rd. Like you say, with the addition of Hronek, drafting Willander and some other decent D prospects, we should be able to get more for a player of Miller's caliber. -
Trevor Linden at the 1991 Fastest Skater...
BarnBurner replied to Kevin Biestra's topic in Canucks Talk
That's pretty impressive how close Linden was to Coffey. Larkin the cheater! Haha! -
And he's still only 20 years old. This kid knows how to put the puck in the net.
-
I don't see any reason why not. He was drafted by his favorite team, and as long as he's paid fair market value and believes the team's moving in the right direction, more than likely, he's going to smash all of the Canuck's scoring records.

[Signing] Maple Leafs re-sign Auston Matthews
BarnBurner replied to -Vintage Canuck-'s topic in Trades, Rumours, Signings
This is what the Canucks have to try and avoid. They've got to get their stars to realize, in order to contend and win the cup, they can't tie up $40 - $50 mil in four guys. It's not going to work. Let's hope so. -
Which I'm fine with. He's focused on improving upon last year and to become the best player he can. And when he consistently scores 100+ points, plus Selke consideration, he'll get paid extremely well. He did say that he likes the direction the Canucks are taking.

(Report) Canucks 2023-24 Prospect Pool Overview - THN
BarnBurner replied to RWJC's topic in Canucks Talk
That's actually a really good point. The development system took a big step in the right direction because Colliton, Up until that point, other than the Moose with Kesler, Bieksa, Burrows, and Rypien, it's been almost non-existent. -
This kid just keeps getting better and better.
-
As long as Demko stays healthy, we don't repeat the start to last season, and avoid the injury bug, we should be challenging for at least a Wild Card spot.
-
Definitely. Where's Randy Bachman when you need him?

(Report) Canucks 2023-24 Prospect Pool Overview - THN
BarnBurner replied to RWJC's topic in Canucks Talk
That's the best the prospect pool has looked in a long time. At least it's moving in the right direction. -
It should be this year or next. Isn't he still only 22?
-
One way or another, this is going to be a highly competitive training camp with the likes of Karlsson, Hoglander, Podkolzin, battling for spots on the roster. Let alone the competition for defense.

Churla was intentionally trying to intimidate/injure/harass Bure. Good for Bure standing up to the bitch. Same with Bertuzzi taking care of that scum sucking pig, Moore. Someone has to take care of business.

[Report/Rumour] Elias Pettersson Contract Talks
BarnBurner replied to -Vintage Canuck-'s topic in Trades, Rumours, Signings
I agree and I've already mentioned it. If I'm him, I'm betting on myself to improve upon last season. And in that case, that's major bank, which Petey would deserve, based on market value. -
I agree. But unless he is all-in on being captain, I'd rather JT, so Petey or Hughes aren't subjected to that pressure. And as far as fire in his belly, I'd prefer Miller scrapping instead of QH. Miller was the one who went after Bo's cousin when he blindsided Petey last year.
