  1. I agree, the upside is there. As long as he plays a strong 200 ft game, that's all you want out of anyone, a consistent effort, every game.
  2. Exactly. At this stage, with Miller still in the picture, our top 3 forwards are Miller, Petey and Bo. That only leaves 3 top six spots. And that also depends on whether the aforementioned are deployed as centres.
  3. If I remember correctly, wasn't Mikheyev in the early running for the Calder prior to getting injured? I think it was the year Petey won.
  4. Same with Tavares with NYI. My problem with these situations is a lack of communication between player, agent and management. At least that way the team knows the player has no plans of re-signing, and can trade for assets, instead of completely losing out.
  5. He is a bum. Like Matthews. Watch. Austin's going to bolt too.
  6. That's still fairly young. At that age you don't have enough life experiences, so yeah, that young of an age.
  7. I don't think Brock was one dimensional the year before. He's not perfect by any means, but was working through issues, his injuries, his father, and dealing with the pressure of being an NHL player at such a young age. That's no easy task. I wish him all the best.
  8. Nowhere would be Vancouver, depending on how fast you drive!
  9. Columbus is actually a really cool, chilled city. 2 million people in surrounding areas. Ohio State University, and much more than most would know. Could be worse.
  10. I agree. As talented as Little Johnny is, he's not a player who's going to lead you to the promised land.
  11. True. Petey actually has more gumption than Johnny G will ever have.
  12. Kind of like the regular season? Points are points. He's obviously an extremely talented player, but he's not someone I'd go towar with when push comes to shove.
  13. Huh? You'd tie up $10 mil for 8 years for a player who vanishes in the playoffs? What a waste of money.
  14. Agreed. He doesn't bring it, like Tkachuk, when it matters most, in the playoffs.
  15. There's no way anyone in their right mind would make that trade. As much as I like Barzal, I wouldn't trade Podkolzin one for one. This is a big strong kid who plays with grit, will stand up for teammates, plays a 200 foot game, who's a great passer, and as Miller has said, has the hardest shot on the team. Like you said, this is a player we will win cups with.
  16. There is no way I'd trade Miller plus Podkolzin and a 2nd for only Barzal. JT may be 5 years older, but he's the better, more well-rounded player at this point. Forget about adding Podkolzin, who is someone we shouldn't consider trading, at all.
  17. Why are you even on this board? You are clearly trolling. Not sure why you're even allowed on this board.
  18. That is true. Like you said, let's hope for the best!
  19. Time will tell. Again, I have confidence in our management team, but I personally would have swung for the fences.
  20. Washington took the guy we should have.
