Thatcher Demko selected to 2022 NHL All-Star Game
BarnBurner replied to -Vintage Canuck-'s topic in Canucks Talk
As much as he has been a dirt bag, he is having an amazing year. -
This is ridiculous. I wish EK the very best, as I do/did JV. Yet it's obviously clear that he has major issues he has to deal with and resolve. What price do you pay to settle? It's like anyone of us in real life, we all have to make real choices and have to live with the consequences. Of course, we all want another chance, but time for him is running out. It's a shame because he is a great player. He made the bed he's lying in.

I agree and I was one of the first here to suggest letting Marky walk instead of trading/losing TD. That was just before Demko's all-world performance against the Golden Shytes.

It's true, he has started slow. But Petey has been a magical player before, and can be that again, and more. He's working through whatever it is right now, but he's not someone you give up on at such a young age. -

That's awesome! Demko's been outstanding and continues to gain more confidence. -

Apparently some do though. Why would they? Strange. -
Great hustle and to stay on the puck. Nice one!

You are completely fixated on getting EK here. That's your problem. He's not the answer. Obviously he's a solid player when he isn't being a douche bag, but he is, so therein lies the answer. Move along. To suggest after 3 failures that he'll change is again, on you and your hardcore desire to play with the Canucks. All the best with that!

Perhaps he should take power skating lessons. Haha!

[Rumour] Coyotes gauging market on Jakob Chychrun
BarnBurner replied to -Vintage Canuck-'s topic in Trades, Rumours, Signings
No. You'd have to be out of your mind to make that deal. We can live without Chychrun, especially at that cost. -
If Bailey can play hard and take the body, fantastic. He has the speed and ability to bury the puck, just needs to do it consistently. I'd love to see him succeed.

Then thank goodness you're not in charge. What we gave up for Miller, OEL and Garland is worth much more simply because they are a major part of creating a winning environment. Edit: Forgot to mention, inspite of not being in the age range of that core group.

[Discussion] JT Miller, is he tradeable?
BarnBurner replied to HKSR's topic in Proposals and Armchair GM'ing
Not at all. Nashville is playing well so far this year, so the 1st round could be in the 20+ range, and secondly, I don't consider Glass a blue chip prospect. Losing Miller's pizzazz would hurt, so the price would have to be overwhelming.
