I suggested that months ago. A net front presence who plays tough in front of the net, has a great scoring touch and would be a deterrent to anyone thinking about taking liberties on Petey.

Plus, this year is his contract year. He's playing for money. He should be completely ashamed, but apparently he's not. You're right, what a disaster. And that's not on Benning. If he performed anywhere near to his contract year in Boston, no one would be complaining. But he didn't. He's milking it. Edit: What this does show is complete lack of professionalism. He should be playing his heart our, period.

Olli will not make it to Abbotsford. He'll be grabbed off the waiver wire in a heart beat. Guaranteed.

[Would you] Pettersson/Marner
BarnBurner replied to Warhippy's topic in Proposals and Armchair GM'ing
I completely agree. Most of the best players play a complete 200 foot game, and EP40 does that better than Marner. Especially when push comes to shove, in the playoffs. -
[Proposal] Van - SJ Kane comes home
BarnBurner replied to Odjick the Warrior's topic in Proposals and Armchair GM'ing
I say, trade Kane to Calgary! Haha! He will fit in well with Tkaschmuk! Haha! -
Two completely different players. Both potentially great, but I like the fact Podz plays with the heart of a lion. He's not going to be easy to play against.

[Proposal] Toronto - Vancouver
BarnBurner replied to Ilya Mikheyev's topic in Proposals and Armchair GM'ing
Sorry, but I don't like the idea of throwing away Juolevi so fast. Yes, he had bad luck with injuries to begin with, but he has great potential even at a younger age. -
[Proposal] Vancouver - Ottawa Blockbuster

No way. Podz is going to be way harder to play against than Brady. -
86? Have you been thrown out of a lot a bars? Haha! (Kidding)

I've always said, "when push comes to shove, talk is cheap." Good on Bo.

(Proposal) Eichel to the Flames
BarnBurner replied to KirkSave's topic in Proposals and Armchair GM'ing
I'm not saying he isn't a great player, to some degree. I personally wouldn't sell the farm for him. Even though he was injured last year, imo, he isn't someone i'm going to bet the house on to bring home the cup. Each to their own. And yeah, I have a very good idea what's for real. -
(Proposal) Eichel to the Flames

I wouldn't say he's >>>>> than Horvat. Bo plays hard minutes, has thankfully been healthy and scores close to 60 points a season. For his own sake, let's see how Eichel's health turns out. -

Eichel is over hyped, imo. He isn't a difference maker on the Sabres, and most likely isn't on any other team. I'd rather have Horvat over Monahan any day. -
Coyotes lose vote for new arena - future unclear
BarnBurner replied to mll's topic in General Hockey Discussion
Good. They were an experiment that failed. -
Yeah, I don't know for sure, but It happens. I literally grew 6" in one summer.

I said this a month or so ago. Even if it didn't work out, it's still worth giving it a shot. Someone who crashes, bangs, has the skill to put the puck in the net, and who will stick up for his teammates. Petey needs to improve on face-offs.

[Signing] Canucks re-sign Olli Juolevi
BarnBurner replied to -Vintage Canuck-'s topic in Trades, Rumours, Signings
That's a valid point, for sure. But if that's what it takes to make Quinn to feel more comfortable, so be it. -

I thought I saw OJ played the right side last year and didn't look out of place. -
We're all about to see how this plays out. One way or another, I wish OJ the best.
