  1. Ok so apparently he is day-to-day, maybe he will sit out this road trip and come back for the home stand
  2. Been trying to find out how long Dors is gone for, all the info I found was in the province which stated he is being sent for further evaluation. Any insiders on CDC who can tell me how long he is out for? Our best forechecker grinder and in your face type of player, get well soon Dors, this team needs you!
  3. Second time I am using the beauty multi-quote feature on the forum. I am also "half in the bag" as you Albertan's call it, but I think he is either french-canadian or a new immigrant attempting to speak english. I am all for equal rights and as a true Canadian I will attempt to help the op state what he wanted to say: "Burrows is a diver, get outta here you punk, nobody likes Burr especially the refs because all he does is chirp and dive. JB made a critical error in bringing Burr back at his salary because he does not help the team with his constant diving and chirping" Thank you come again.
  4. What a beauty, some great PK and a great pass to spring Bo for that breakaway goal. He is playing lights out on the Horvat line while giving us some excellent PK ability. I would like him to receive some PP time in front of the net, get er done Willie, aint like you got much to lose! Eh bud!!! So Burrows on the 2nd line, first line PK and first line PP. Why not? Because nobody else is able to do these jobs at an effective rate at the moment. Go Canucks Go!
  5. I stopped watching UFC when GSP left, loved watching him fight. Once he left, I did not have anyone to really cheer for. Anderson Silva used to be worth watching, but age has caught up with him. Nobody right now on that roster compares to those guys in their prime. Used to like Jon Jones, but drug issues etc A lot of these "hyped" cards have also ended up to be duds, tough to pay for a card when fights lack intensity that they used to.
  6. Cannot argue with your statement bro, true fan indeed you are. Keep up with the comments, we need more of your ilk here on CDC!
  7. Man, some scrub CDC poster gave you a minus for your statement. I can tell you watch the Nucks, keep posting and do not let these negative nancys bring you down. Burr is still a cog in the machine.
  8. Necro bump Last game, to snap our 9 game losing streak, Burr played 15 min on the 2nd line and scored 2 goals vs the top team in the NHL. Time to give him some 1st line PP min in front of the net because the rest have shown they are not able to play with toughness or screen the goalie on a consistent basis. Let him earn his money. Play him on the 1st PP unit in front of the net, and let him play some decent mins. Sure his hands are gone, but his smarts and tenacity still remain. All you haters flame away, who else would break our streak? thats right the DRAGON SLAYER!!! LIve long Burr, live long.
  9. Lets be realistic, if this kid is blowing off practices with his teammates who work hard, why would any teammate go to battle with this punk so he can go to a concert? He should take his job seriously because at this point he will get his coach and maybe GM fired. Maybe he should learn off Horvat, Bo had a long scoring drought in his first two seasons, yet fans were willing to stick with him because of his WORK ETHIC. Guess what? He turned it around the 2nd half of the season even with limited ice time. Never complained once and towed the company line. Jake has been petulant since he started playing pro. One great season in junior and we draft him 6th ovr. After that he has done nothing but regress. What else do we need to know about him? He lacks the drive and determination to be a true pro. At this point, he is a bust of a pick unless the switch suddenly comes on (doubtful). If reports are true, Jake has progressed in his partying skills, maybe he can meet Shane O'Brien at the roxy and show us all his true potential. Yea lets blame the media, because Bo during his slumps sure didnt pop off about the coach etc. What a weak excuse.
  10. Serious? I questioned his work ethic before, but if this is true maybe the Nucks are teaching him a lesson because he does not know how to be a pro. Worse still it was probably a Bieber concert. JB must not have checked the smarts on this kid.
  11. From all accounts, it seems Jake is destined to be a 3rd line grinder. Apparently some reports show that he lacks the work ethic that Bo has, which is disappointing since JB said he would only draft "character guys" If anything, his performance in the WJC showed what he is. First year in WJC, he starts on McDavids line, but has no IQ and by the time the tourney ends, he is on the 4th line. Second WJC is his chance to shine and instead he takes some immature and stupid penalties and gets blasted on the front page in Canada and that team lost due to some petulant players (him and Strome). He seems to be immature, lacking in ability to read the play, and most importantly has the work ethic of an entitled punk. I remember Kesler struggling badly during his first 3 years, but he always had an incredible work ethic and the drive needed to improve. This kid has none of those "intangibles"
  12. Haha that is exactly what I am saying. If you have watched the 70's and 80's, this current trend is nothing. Back then we were just lucky to get a tie with the powerhouses of the league, which is why I am hoping for a patient rebuild. The 2000's have been great to us, got to watch the Twins and Kes put up some monster numbers and win titles, although the early 90's Nucks will always have my heart. Nobody can replace Bure and Linden among the Nucks greats IMO. As for this iteration, I will have to wait until Bo becomes the unquestioned leader before I start to believe again
  13. I do not disagree with you in the aspect that we need goal scoring forwards; however, tkachuk is not the player we need. If we finished top 3, we could have landed either Poolparty or Dubios, two skilled playmakers who make their teammates better. IMO I do not see Tkachuck as being that type of player. Canuck luck is what it is, we never get what we need. As I have said before Lindens face said it all at the draft lotto....finished 3rd worst and get the 5th overall? Even with Quinn's lucky charms? Come on man, life as a Nucks fan sucks right now.
  14. My main issue is who do yo see him jelling with? Our only playmaker is Bo, and he is trying to do it all himself at the moment. Tkakuch can be a great player if he is surrounded by the right playmakers. Unfortunately, we have neither at this time, and hence I stand by the belief that he would be wasted. Sutter, Hank (who can only play with his bro) or grandlund or Sutter would not give him the chances needed to be successful. The realization has set in, and that is the fact we cannot produce offensive players in our organization. Name one offensive player who has flourished on this team since the Sedins and Kesler? Not one. Bo is given garbage shifts even though he is our leading goal scorer. BS. This IMO is what is setting back our team. Any plug can play D, but it takes skill, guts and creativity to create scoring chances. Right now our only guy is Bo. The rest are either over the hill or just future 2 way plugs.
  15. My friend, I would have to respectfully disagree. Tkachuk is the type of player who takes advantage of opportunities. He is no Marner, Matthews, Laine or Poolparty. He cannot create chances off the rush or by himself. You stated you have seen him play, well where are all his goals from? Second Chances? Great passes from skilled players? He would have been a bad pick. Given our draft pick slot and the fact Dubois was gone by our pick, I think JB actually made a decent pick. Just think of it, we both know Tkachuk would have been either playing like 8 min a game or be sent down to the AHL by now. Instead he is playing with some great offensive talents in Johnny G and Monohan, and as a result he scores. Heck, even Bouma and Comauau have played with them and put up some points. Development is all about who and how you surround talent with. Right now, we lack this capability. I think Joulevei will be the better pick for this team, since we havent nurtured offensive talent since the Sedins and Kesler (thanks to AV for that).
  16. TBH, I would love to have the Kassian version Oilers 3.0 right now He is playing like a beast, but then again he has confidence and the support of his teammates, unlike this organization. Prust and a 5th will always be a horrible trade, no matter how fans try to slice it. He seems to be in a great place right now, good for him I hope he does well. Too bad about Jake though, he has regressed from his rookie year, although I do not know what from..... at this point its just speculation, maybe we will find out what his issue is in the future, because that pick cost us big time.
  17. Or maybe he listens to too much Bieber during his training and it is affecting his toughness. Or maybe he needs more tatts to prove he is a tough guy? Seriously though, Jake is being given the Kassian treatment right now, could be more mental than physical, because I have rarely seen him throw big hits this year. His performance as a leader in the WJC did nothing to show he has maturity to handle adversity, and he has not yet proven that here, as his media statements attest to. Hope this kid turns it around soon, all the tools but.....
  18. Sometimes you can be a real party pooper, why so glum chum?
  19. Agreed, which is why I did not want to draft him. In Junior he played with The Magician Marner, and now in cowtown he gets to play with guys like Johnny Hockey and Monohan, both of those guys can create chances on their own while Tkachuck finds an open spot or crashes a rebound. Hard to see who we have besides Bo who can do the same. Tkachuck is skilled around the net, but in terms of creating his own chances he is not that type of impact player IMO
  20. Time to give some respect to Dors.... during our losing streak, which he was injured, that 4th line has done nothing but stink it up. This guy wins forechecking battles, chirps the other team, will fight the other teams biggest baddest player and still create chances. Remember him with Bo in the first game? Laugh all you want that was our best line at creating chances off the forecheck. I thought Gudbranson would fill Dors role, but he only fought Kassian otherwise he was invisible after the whistle in scrums and in protecting our goalies. At least Dors ran Elliot after the flamers ran our goalie, where was the White Knight Mr. Captain Gudbranson? Oh thats right probably thinking about his contract. Give me a break with the Dorsett hate, this team lacks the will to win, unlike a good old hardworking boy from Saskatchewan. This team is not capable of standing up for each other unless Dors is there.
  21. I thought Pittsburgh in the East won it last year? I could be wrong, let me check my facts again.
  22. What happened to this kids shot? last year he scored some beauts by picking the corners. He has had 2 point blank prime opportunies to score this year (hurricanes and vs oilers). He shot one right at lack, and vs the Oilers he missed by about 10 feet high. Somethings up here, not to mention he is always shifting off a line early and looks gassed. At least he threw some decent hits vs the oil
  23. Yea I remember Green, played for 20 years I think and was still elite in his late 30's with speed. He was an amazing athlete but did not get the hype like Neon Deon because he wasnt flashy enough.
  24. This song will always remind me of that Patriots game where Brady cemented his legend
