    Well. well. well...I never thought I'd see the day. Especially when a thread about a dick-shaped dessert is acceptable.... whereas a coup attempt here in North America, just below our Southern border and the despot who led it have been a discussion thread for at least 7 years, is not....Unbelievable.

      Actually, if you read the reddit post on the dick-shaped desert, the post was not meant to be a joke. Imo, there were a lot of serious issues around it: sexualization of women, cultural views of women (it was from an Asian restaurant), lack of serious apology from the restaurant, etc.

      It looks kinda suspicious to me.  Not like we'd ever be told if it were true, but I wouldn't be surprised if some conservative busybody complained to some higher-up at Rogers about the "lack of balance" in those threads and the order to shut down those threads was the result.

       

      Edit: if you've seen the kind of comments Rogers allows on SN's site re: Grier's hiring and Wickenheiser's promotion to AGM, you can see the editorial slant SN prefers.

      this might be too subtle

      but i don't like the word seriously

      as i think someone was serious

      about whatever it was they did or were doing

       

      people seriously disagree about things

      and all sides can be very serious about this

      even if some serious views are terribly blinded or distorted

       

      i use the word "really"

      and often on these boards

      as it connotes a disagreement with the reality

      someone is trying to impose on others

      and i do think you meant to say "really"

       

      online

      people try to impose their reality on others

      flippantly, seriously, ignorantly, in a troll like manner, or for a variety of other or personal reasons
