What is about some songs on some nights that you can just crawl right inside and sit a spell within?

I seem to be getting a number of these messages today for some reason...Anybody else?

Wow... so a woman suffering from Alopecia should be honoured and grateful to be compared to another bald woman. You say you know many girls that would have taken that as a compliment. And therein lies the problem... 'many' girls are not ALL girls. *************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************** For the rest of you commenting: Someone in Deb's status update made the comment about what it's like for the majority of women to lose their hair through no fault of their own. I don't suppose it ever occurred to anyone that perhaps Jada's husband has been privy to the anguish of Jada losing her hair and dealing with this autoimmune disease. Is it possible that her putting it 'out there' about her hair and shaved head (as some have trashed her for) was more about getting the jump on trashy tabloid 'reporters' taking it and running with it? Also.... when women start losing their hair....for whatever reason... let's say cancer treatment.....and choose to shave their heads so their hair loss is all at once instead of patchy loss.... are they fair game for being made the butt of jokes by men? Just want to get this straight before I take my leave from this thread. I said I was done on this topic in a previous thread but holy $&!#.. watching a bunch of guys weigh in on how it's no big deal for women dealing with hair loss and then trashing their husbands who defend them from hurtful comments in front of millions of people....is rather horrifying and &^@#ing disappointing, to put it bluntly.

He has a GREAT role model, D!! (I can't believe he's already old enough for games on a tablet...wasn't he just born? )

To say I'm stunned by some of the responses from male registrants here is an understatement.... like holy $&!#.... so because someone is in the public eye they are fair game to be made fun of for a medical condition???? Who ARE you people? I find myself incredibly disappointed by some of the things I've seen in this thread written by people I've long held respect for. I'm out.

Because Will Smith would not be slapping a female comedian because men don't hit women. But Chris Rock is NOT a woman...and that is who is the subject of being slapped onstage at the Oscars over an unacceptable comment he made about someone's wife We are NEVER going to agree on this. Are you the kind of man who would stand by and let your wife be made the butt of a joke and insulted on a stage where it's being broadcast to millions of viewers??? And let's have your wife and/or SO come here and read your answer.

Perhaps I am still clinging to my heartfelt hopes that people's better natures and empathy and kindness will prevail rather than greed and likes and bookings on the Academy Awards show. Making jokes at the expense of another person's medical condition or disability is below the belt and should be unacceptable to most people. And really, I'm not surprised that Kathy Griffin would be someone weighing in on this. Her humour has been oftentimes maliciously at someone else's expense, has it not? It's not that difficult to be funny and not at another person's expense,,,, 'comedians' making shock-style 'jokes' do it because people will support it. We have slipped dreadfully in human kindness and empathy in this world.... Here endeth my rose-coloured glasses homily of the day!

Yet Rock gets to walk by spewing that comment on one of the biggest stages of the season in front of millions of people with no push back? Okay...gotcha.
-
Just because you're a 'comedian' does not absolve you from the consequences of your words. Perhaps it's time that 'comedians' take a look at some of the stuff they're spewing in the name of 'jokes' and comedy.
-
EXACTLY!! Thank you.

And if you're going to make cracks about someone's medical condition in order to get cheap laughs then you're going to have to reap the consequences of your actions. Chris Rock has made several distasteful 'jokes' about the Smiths in the past and gotten away with it....sooner or later....and last night was later....you're going to have to take some responsibility for it..I'm on Team Smith for this. Make a distasteful joke at the expense of a loved one and there should be consequences.... Chris Rock was NOT funny, he was a pig and got what he deserved. The fact that he's not pressing charges makes it obvious that he KNOWS he crossed the line big time.
