  1. Stupid to risk losing your man. JB would have probably picked EP had they won the draft lottery. But that's just a moot point for argument... Had JB picked EP 2nd over all we would all be liking it today or most anyways. There is always the group if you say its white they say Black. Those are in Elliot Friedmans camp
  2. I would love to give this 10 thumbs up. E P's coach want EP back in Sweden for one reason and One reason only. So he can win Hockey games. Newsflash to all the Haters EP is so ready now and not just to skate but to make a huge impact in the NHL. Not like he is playing against boys. Sure the NHL calibre will be better but EP scores goals that NHL defenders and Goalies would not stop. Having Brock and EP on the same line will open them both up.
  3. Add to the fact EP is joining a team that is getting way younger and has a lot of young players that don't belong to the old boys club . If the Rangers game is any indication it will not only add Brock's availablility to find open ice it will make EP fit in nicely.
  4. ONE MORE POINT AND THIS DESERVES A CONGRADULATIONS THREAD FROM CDC.......
  5. I am so excited to see even next year how much better this team can get. I know we need the Sedins but man they don't get going until Jan or Feb. That's something that needs to be considered if we sign them. EP looks ready and he naturally creates space for himself by how good he can pass. Backs defenders off him. Like the goal today three defensemen between him and the other team mate and they all backed off.
  6. Yeh because McDavid and Draisaitl's are Crosby and Malkin the two best performers in Hockey and Stanley cup rings and all that . McDavid touches 100 points and gets pre paid for the Stanley Cup and follows it up with a non play-off year. Which will happen next year also. I guess Edmonton is not familiar with developing players to be great players. Not since the glory days 34 years ago.
  7. Top 6 number 1 power play top 15 in NHL scoring one day and has the heart to win the big games. Kinda like Trevor Linden game 7 scf. Played his heart out but in the end couldn't beat the foul NHL refs.
  8. Well when you understand hockey a little better. you will understand that when players are over paid they affect the whole team. And I feel they so over paid McDavid they will realize they can't compete with a team with two 6 million dollar forwards maybe 7 million. And they will look at moving Mcdavid only because of the contract he signed and not because of how good McDavid is. Kind a like the untouchable Eric Karlson out of Ottawa. Oh wait he is now on the trade board. Anyways it depends on the Oilers season next year. And I do believe Leon Draisaitl is possible bait already. Imagine a good young over paid prospect or player coming out of Edmonton. I have been a Oilers fan too long to not see the writing on the wall based all on poor management. Had they paid McDavid 8 mill it works. 9mill would be stretching it . but 12 million they will learn very quickly he is not a 12 million dollar man.
  9. If McDavid gets 95 pts this year and 95 next year. He is totally overpaid and he is trade bait because they still won't be in the play-offs. But it is my opinion, and The Oilers said that about Taylor Hall and all the other prospects on OTHER TEams.
  10. As with most teams. Our drafting has more to do with how many high picks we gave away.
  11. Not many goals 5 on 5 but lots of his goals are off the rush and either beating defensemen wide or powering through tight space. And a shot for his age that will only get better. And he might have the best one timer I have seen since Pavel Bure. That's a shot few players can hit. If any. Brock has had a few one timers that look good. But Elias blows one timers past the goalie in the same spot time and time again. And the funny thing about it. Goalies know where he is shooting and still can't get to it. Now to say generational before a player plays a game is all hype. But he is a generational prospect which their is very few of them in drafts. McDavid has the potential to be a generational player but is developing the same way Edmonton has developed all their high picks. McDavid will be a force, but may be trade bait in a year if he doesn't progress. Esp with a 12 mill contract.
  12. If Boeser gets a little quicker he would be a lot like Matthews as a player. another steal in the draft .
  13. Maybe you should read the article. esp the conclusion part when it says generational talent. SImple math had all the unrealistic expectations dropped. EP will be 100 plus point player for sure.
  14. You got to take CDC with a grain of salt. Half here cheer for other teams . They just come to bash. The other's are fans that take everything TSN says ,and feel their posts are going onto their TSN application form. Somewhere in the middle you usually find true fans like yourself. And many times we the fans are right. You make some Valid points. And I am sure that's exactly why GM Jim Benning was extended.
  15. I sure hope this article is right Because I have been calling EP a generational talent since he was drafted. And my bet that had we won the draft lottery JB would have selected him anyways. This balances out the dishonest front office at NHL headquarters. Imagine how hard it will be to not call penalties when EP is dangling defensemen and they are hanging on. He reminds me of Pavel Bure with his shot. And one thing I noticed is he takes pucks at high speed knocking the passes down in a controlled fashion, also like Pavel Bure. His ability to pass may be better than any of the current players in the NHL, That's bold but I am saying it. I have watched most of McDavids games and I feel this is one skill he lacks. Many of McDavids plays happen when he is away with speed passing through open zones. As soon as zones close on McDavid he has a glaring weakness passing through playes, often high and hard to handle. McDavid makes up for this with his speed. Probably never having to force passes until he got to the NHL. I could see EP leading the NHL in points and few players could lead in Goals and lead in Assists. I wonder if that will ever happen again? But if it does EP has the skillset.
  16. Its been a few years since we had a player that could shoot the puck with out stopping it, aiming it and then winding up and trying to get it through a well positioned goalie. Brock, Adam, and Elias wow. I wish Stetcher could learn to shoot maybe it will be infectious.
  17. I can see Gaudette doing really well in the NHL. I remember Burrows before he started to score in the NHL. AV was literally laughing at the bench when he scored a beauty for his first goal in like 40 plus games, Burrows became a great player because he had heart. Gaudette has heart and more talent, Expect him not to be happy with him not leading wherever he goes. would not be surprised to see him with 1b duties.
  18. Exactly how I feel. But in much smoother words. Double thumbs up.
  19. I did just say that. And just wait until next year you will Get McDavid if your willing to take his contract on. Franchise players are Gretzky Lemiuex maybe Crosby. But the argument for a player to be called a franchise player when he is just top 10 is just the media trying to sell fans on players to sell magazines etc. McDavid is fast but his passing is subject. If he isn't wide open he doesn't feed the puck through traffic very well, exactly why his point totals are so far off his 12 million dollar projection. Anyways just my opinion . Connor is creeping up the scoring race. Kessel is in his sights. Not his fault Edmonton is a mess. All Connor will see in Edmonton is losing. Been watching them for 12 years and I still can't believe they havn't fired Kevin Lowe. Or had any direction change. They have completely hired guys who feel their going in the right direction and have stayed the coarse of rushing rookies followed by overpaying them followed by trading them away for less than market value. ie Taylor Hall Yak etc. Soon you can add Draisaitl. And how about Lucic. I apolagize for including Crosby in the above list he has absolutely earned his status as a franchise players.
  20. Yeh that's what I thought. And watching Edmontons game last night I thought McDavid was soft defensively, as are most offensive forwards.
  21. http://dailyhive.com/vancouver/elias-pettersson-canucks-centre-vaxjo-2018 A good read on EP. His weaknesses could very well be applied to Connor McDavid. His strengths make him dangerous. And like most offensive threats they lack that defensive prowess. However he is still very young. can't wait to see him in nucks colors.
  22. EP played fie at center. But with his one timer from the right side it makes sense to have him on the right side. Unbelievable how good his one timer is. Something you want him doing during a game. When he comes to Vancouver he will be as good as player as their is. Franchise players havn't existed since Mario or Wayne. Its pretty sad when we call franchise players a player who is top ten in NHL scoring or wins the scoring race by 3 points. When a player wins it by 30 or 40 then you have a franchise player. McDavid is an elite player. Matthews is an elite player Crosby is an elite player as with many more. Teams hope a franchise player comes their way, but it seldom happens. Then as soon as they get a player whom they dee as a franchise player they over pay them they try to trade them away as soon as they realize that they are just a lil better than the other teams player but not worth 4 million more. Just wait Edmonton will be offering McDavid in a couple years. And my bet is you wouldn't trade EP straight up for him. Both not franchise players. Maybe Subban is a franchise player, Look at how Montreal is doing without him.
  23. He will play in the NHL next season. He may struggle at times, But we will all be pleasantly surprised at his uncanny ability to make plays in tight. On the big ice he takes the play to others, and seldom looks to hide. Just surprised anyone could feel one of the best SHL players will not make the NHL. He may be small but man he makes players around him better, and I've noticed his ability to make plays out of nothing is awesome. Pettersson was the steal of the draft. And I am betting a franchise forward for many years. As good as his shot is, its his ability to pass that scares goalies.
