  1. Elias gets his first two Day break in a while! Expect to see it benefit him for the next three. The schedule has hurt him big time for his foot speed. In fact the whole team! Can't wait to see a recharged team the next few games! Elias will get his ppg up over the next three! ! Was nice to see him get two points,
  2. In three games I watched him pass to Elias 3 times! That's not good enough! Keep a eye on it! He had a chance to send Elias in with speed last night and he dumped it in!
  3. Its hard to say if Goldy's game has improved! He seldom passes to EP. He gets a ton of extra space because everyone is so concerned (as they should be with EP) with EP. In my mind he has been a bust even though he has some assists. Not liking him with EP. But last game he showed a little confidence which is nice. But he would fall of a cliff if EP wasn't on his line!
  4. Every other night! A back to back and coming home to play Montreal with out any real rest. And being a rookie he needs the next three days off to rest up! Shame on the NHL for this schedule!
  5. Players at 18 and 19 can be rushed! Once they are men they need to play at their skill level. Dahlen needs the challenge! Heck we have watched goldobin. And simply put Goldy doesn't have the top end speed for his hands.
  6. Hard to imaging Pouliot feeling secure!
  7. Hope Elias bounces back from 3 pointless games and 4 games ago he got a late point in a blow out win. He is looking a lil tired, hope he keeps his confidence!
  8. I think it was 3 years ago, but it could have been 4. I was at the young stars tournament sitting beside two Pro scouts for the Winnipeg Jets. Horvat was flying out there Skating was not as big of issue as people said he was fast and agile. He came down the left wing towards the net. The right side defenseman pushed him around to the outside so he would circle behind the net. he flipped the puck too the slot and continued to skate behind the net and he jumped over the defenseman on the other side as if he was doing a wrap around (puck still in the air) .The puck landed right in front of his stick and he missed the top corner. Now I listen in too the scouts "man I am upset we didn't make a charge for Horvat" said one He looked at me wearing a Canucks jersey and said "you guys are lucky this kid brings it!". the other guy said He will be a top line center one day and what few people understand is Bo has the WOW factor to his game. Now I have posted this story before. But I am seeing Bo bring it to the NHL level now. He has way more to give than what we are seeing. And for those saying he was slow, Maybe in his draft year but in Penticton at the young stars tourney he was already beating guys wide!
  9. Three games EP has went with-out a point. He has averaged 3 points in the game after a non-point game. 2pts 2pts and 5 pts
  10. Joulevi is probably ready for the NHL right now, but behind in conditioning due to his injury or surgery. He will make the big club and as all defensemen do have a few gaffs defensively. Its the price you pay for offense. Can CDC handle it? Hard to say, but he will make the big club soon (probably due to injuries) and never look back. Look at the big Russian, couldn't crack the line up, then when he played , we need him....
  11. We watch the games. Players tend to show a lot more talent in practice as they develop and sometimes take longer to get game hands. Fans make bone headed assumptions based watching 3 or 4 chances a game. He clearly has talent. If anything I have been very disappointed in the defense not hitting the forwards when they have speed. Count how many times EP and Goldy have to turn back because there is no pass attempt! Then there already burning energy!
  12. EP has already had two games with out a point. The first game he responded with a 2 point night. The second he responded with a 5 point night. He will have games with -out a point. Don't worry too much great players find ways to hit the scorecard.
  13. And at the end of Friday night Elias Pettersson with-out playing moved up to number 2 in PPG in the entire NHL! .002 behind the leader! That means if he had played the games he missed he would be at minimum number 2 in NHL scoring!
  14. CanucksPlace @canucksplace I think it’s only truly fully hitting me now how big a deal it was, or what it really meant for Elias Pettersson when he eclipsed Peter Forsberg’s record in Sweden last season. It means this kid is really, really special. #Canucks love this post. Elias is also making the SHL look like a really great league. Very little drop off so far. Plus was only 18 last year playing against men! Last game he really started to look comfortable skating in on the NHL defensemen!
  15. Listening to NHL radio today. And almost to a man,(anyone talking to any other player) they seem to throw in the Calder as being won already by someone in Vancouver. They asked several players if they thought Elias would come back to earth? The general consensus is he is just scratching the surface of what he is capable of! Gotta love it! Hockey central today is wow historical start. If he didn't miss 6 games? What do you think he would have had? 3 points? 2 goals 2 assists? or 6 points? Or would he have still averaged 1.67 ppg. We will know in the next 10 games!
  16. And he was being hailed as Toronto's savior!
  17. Does anyone think Elias Pettersson hasn't been on the Radar last 5 games? Does anyone think Colorado didn't play Elias hard. I think after game 1 in Calgary the teams have been watching film!
  18. Not all are shocked. People who watched Elias are not surprised. people familiar with the SHL are not surprised. In fact if he was Canadian their would be no debate who is going to be the best player in the league. In the SHL play-offs all they had to do was shut Elias down and they had a chance. They couldn't do it! Expect mashed potatoes for your gravy!
  19. based on what we have seen from Alien or Elias. He gets better as seasons go on. He may get more than 91. he could easily get 91.
  20. A guy named Phil Housley fed Selanne and that led to his incredible season. Phil didn't play much with Selanne after that or at least not a hea;thy Phil! Crosby was a awesome player but the NHL has not seen a dominant numer one player in decades. You know the player who wins by 30 points or more! Elias is that future player!
  21. I think your too quick to put hm below McDavid. He is out pacing McDavids rookie year! He is averaging more points per game than McDavid 10 games playing a position he hasn't played much in a rink with total ice size diffrence. And I have went on record for a year now saying he will get more points than McDavid. He doesn't have to work as hard for his points. If McDavid isn't skating full bore he isn't a big threat! That makes his style much more injury prone! And when he plays injured it makes it tougher to think the points through. So you may laugh at me but I bet he leads the NHL in points in the near future. He is still finding his way. His 1 point games will become 2 point games and his 5 pt games will not be a once in a life time. Barzal had 3 5pt games but rode a hot power play. ELias gets his points as primary assists and many 5 on 5. Or hard to stop shots. We have yet to see Elias turn the jets on to go wide or down the wing, but that confidence will come and open up other chances in the near future. He is way faster than people think! Boeser has yet to really be Boeser, and when that happens Elias becomes a solid 2 ppg player.
  22. Elias hasn't played tonight but climbed to 2nd in ppg!
  23. If Elias continues to do what he is doing he could win more than just the Calder. So that's the phrase we will see. Big offensive numbers are what bring players into consideration for these awards. Like I have said for a year Generational prospect turning into the latter! He will do what others before him havn't he is that good. And he is still finding his way in our rinks playing a new position. You think he is getting these numbers because he has adapted! That is still to come. He could be a 2ppg player by next year! You Know players usually get better than they are when they are 19 years old! Ouch isn't that a scary thought.
