I don't think masks are the problem. It is a compassion issue. I tend to apply the principle, "There is no justice in this world; there is only mercy". I have Multiple Sclerosis and am at higher risk of infection. If wearing a mask helps people in similar situation to mine, I'm all in on wearing a mask.

Is it just me or does Quinn look a little pudgy. I hope this was in August and not last week.

I took some time to look at the Sweater and think about it to come up with an opinion. I find the colors and design is very striking. I think it will really pop on TV. Way better than the salmon colored one that the design was based on. I like it and think I will get one before the season starts, I just am not sure who's name and number to get.

Jasek was a good pk'er in Utica and is a responsible defensive player.
-
I think his decision making will improve this year as he will be in the best shape of his career. Fatigue doesn't help the thinking process. His work with Myers this off season is going to give us a much improved Jake.

I was a bit bored last night and went onto AHLTV and watched the Comets game in Toronto from last season (Nov. 30th). I was impressed with Jasek as at center. He is also a good PK'er as well. Adam may have some competition for the third line Center spot. I was never all that high on him but he was very good at center. Adam needs to improve his defensive game and he also needs to put on 10 pounds of muscle.

Here is Mikie's first season in AHL: 2019-20 Utica Comets AHL 36 0 0 2045 95 2 1 2.79 21 11 2 934 0.908 Here is Thatcher's first season in AHL: 2016-17 Utica Comets AHL 45 5 2 2555 114 8 2 2.68 22 17 1 1118 0.907 - Mikie had a comparable first season to Thatcher's first season. Also, Mikie did it at a younger age. I think after next season he will be our back-up and even pushing Thatcher for game time. He is that good.

I think Jasek or even Lind (he looked good taking face-offs this last season) maybe better center options than Adam. I think both of them could be ready sooner than later.

I have Nat on my turntable right now. Amazing on the piano and a truly soothing vocalist. Always my go to for a restful evening with my wife.

I see him taking a similar path as Bo did. He will be on the 4th line and maybe around 10g 12a. I am excited to see Podz over here but expecting him to be a top 6 forward right away is a set up for disappointment. Podz

That was great and all but I can't help wondering if at this point he is the LD man that would slot in on our third paring. We have a lot of LD prospects; some very good prospects. I can think of a few guys we have that I think will be better and higher than him in the pecking order. I don't think Green will play him on the right side even though he plays on the right side sometimes in the KHL. OJ, Rathbone and maybe Brezzer, Sautner or maybe Teves (bit of a long shot I know Ha, Ha) could be vying for the last pairing LD. I maybe wrong but this is how I see it. Glade those decisions are not being made by me.

I have to be honest, I am hoping that he gets used as a sweetener for a trade of one of our bad contract. I just was soured on him after he decided to go home after just one season and not being willing to report to Utica as well. Seems to have a bad attitude. Just my thought for what its worthy.

I can't believe that people literally think Jake is a terrible player and so immature be cause he Shot Gunned a beer. I can't believe how petty people have gotten when ever Jake does anything they perceived as questionable. Even his signing a good contract for the team and reports of him working hard with Tyler in Kelowna. I think some on here need to be more mature. Jake isn't half as immature as some are showing here on our discussion forum.

I was a bit concerned when the GM said he needed to get in shape.

I am a big fan of Hogz but do people really think that he is ready for a place on the Canucks this season? I think he is going to need a year in Utica to get used to the North American game. I would be excited to see him in this season but I wonder if some are setting the bar a little too high. I suppose we will have to wait and see.

I thought that the KHL Rinks were closer to NHL size already?
-
Jake didn't spend 2 years in Utica. He got sent down after 10 games in his second year. he stayed there for the rest of the season with Travis Green. The next season he was back with the Canucks in Travis' first season. He only spent the 1 season in the "A".

Wow, great info Gurn. Thanks for the post. Maybe Jake is not as bad as some have stated (ad nauseum).

Watching Kole take face-offs and play a little at center this season made me think he could make a good third line center. With his size and skill as a playmaker I think he would be better than Adam in the #3rd line center spot. Plus Kole is a pain to play against. He's a good pest who doesn't back down from anyone. Just some thoughts.

I don;t think some of the comments above are true. He does fight and a few of those tilts were good fights. He has been an offensive upside and plays on the 2PP. I think that a year of adjusting to a new team and a new town affected some of his production. I think he will have a better year this coming season.

JT Miller in his first experience with play-offs scored 1g 7a in 19 games. Not that much different from Jake in his first experience in the play-off with 1g 1a in 13 games (not including the Minny series as this was a play in to the play-off series). JT had 6 assists more than Jake in 19 games compared to Jake's 13 games. I don't think we should trade Jake at the moment. 18g and 18a this season and has improved every year. I think he will be signed to approx. 2.2 mil X 2 years (without protection in the expansion draft).

I read somewhere that the AHL are planning to start December 1. Is this true and does it mean the NHL has similar plans? Also on the topic of Hogz, I am thinking that he will need a season with the Comets. I see him as similar to Kole Lind. Everyone is going to hammer me on this so I will just brace for the on-slot coming my way.

Pyatt couldn't punch himself out of a wet paper bag. One of the softest players to have ever play for the Canucks. If Jake is asked to fight he will drop his gloves.

Sometimes the lack of realism expressed is negligible here (Ha, Ha). I remember Bert disappearing for multiple games in a row and it frustrated everyone. I guess after 10 or more years we forget the bad things and remember what we want to make us feel better about our favorite players.
