  1. Why is Jack still in the prospects section? He has been in Vancouver all season so far.
  2. Rathbone was a Rookie in the AHL last year and is a Rookie this year in the NHL.
  3. In my opinion, they should never play JT at center again. Sure he can win face offs but I don't think he has the IQ to play center. Put him on the wing and bring up Linus Karlsson and play him on the third line at center with JT helping out taking face-offs. Karlsson has been great in Abby and is there leading points getter. He is also a good skater and a good setup guy as well. They also need to make more north south passes to exit the d-zone. Too many east west passes exiting the d-zone just gets them in trouble. Simplify things in the d-zone and put the puck up the boards not up the middle and get your passes picked off.
  4. I think it was a mistake to put Stillman in over Rathbone. Last night the only offensive defenceman in the line up was Quinn and this was his first game back off an injury. We talk about the importance of moving the puck out of our end and Jack is good at it. I know some will disagree with me but I believe we would be better if Rathbone was on the left side on the third pairing.
  5. This kid is still so young. 18 or 19. He is doing well and I wouldn't be surprised if he is pushing for a job in Vancouver next season.
  6. I watch most of the Abby games and he has look very good. I was wondering when he might get a chance on the big club. Great passer!!!
  7. Just wondering what you all think about his skating. Sometimes he looks slow to me but I was wondering what others thought?
  8. Part of the problem in Leaf Land is they have invested too much money in there forwards and as a result there team is not balanced. In some ways it looks like Brock is the odd man out.
  9. What about Calen Addison from Minny for Brock ( I mentioned this in another thread). He is younger than Dumba and would fit in better with our younger group.

I think he is going to really help our right side and if he is a good first pass guy I am excited to see how he does. That vid clip on him was great. Having a First Nations player on our team is an honor and a great example for the kids in our communities.
  11. I watched the game last night and I thought he had an ok game. If he could just get a bit quicker or make up for it with good positioning he would make a good second or third pair guy in the NHL. As was said above, he still has time to improve. He is still only 23. We gave up on Chatfield too quick. I would hate to do the same with Jett.
  12. What about Brock to Minny for Calen Addison. Might be an ok deal if they throw in a 3rd rounder?
  13. I think this trade was about giving to guys DiPietro and Strudncka a fresh start to reinvigorate their careers.
  14. I know from watching him a lot, he wasn't aggressive enough when he was younger but he has really improved in that area as he has gotten older.
  15. Naslund's contract expired and he signed in New York when the Canucks didn't resign him. He didn't run away from anything.
  16. I don't think our forwards are too bad, they just need to gel. It is our defense that needs work. It has been good to watch Jack Rathbone play. Aside from Quin he seems to be the only d man who is having any offensive impact. He sure is a good passer and he looked good on the second unit PP. Hard seeing Chattfield playing for the Canes. If he can play on the right side for them why couldn't he do it for us in Vancouver. He looked good out there.
  17. Is it possible that the Canuck's wows are a result of having 7 or 8 new players? That is a lot of new faces to get use to playing with. Maybe they just need a little more time. They haven't even played 10 games yet and people are all ready talking rebuild. I think it maybe a little soon for that.

I can't believe after 6 games people are already writing off the team. I am frustrated like many Canuck fan's but lets go Canucks and put a w in the wins column and get back on track. 3 or 4 wins changes everything. That's what I am hoping for tonight.
  19. I had to watch the game this morning as I missed it last night but wow are our forwards ever looking slow. Its no wonder Brock didn't score last night; he couldn't get to the puck fast enough to get his shot off. The forwards were making our defense look like speedsters by not giving our defense outlet passes (the defense were just blowing by them). I honestly don't know what the lineup is going to look like Monday night. I wouldn't be surprised if a trade or two happens.
  20. 5 - 3 Canucks win and Pete gets a hat trick and gets in a little dust up to boot. I think he would show everyone that he is no pushover. Throw in an assist and he would be the proud owner of a Gordy Howe Hatty as well. Might be cool to see as long as he doesn't break his hand or something. Go Canucks on Thursday night.
  21. Personally, I don't look at the standings until 10 games have been played. I find it hard to evaluate based on the first 4 or 5 games when they have been on the road so long to start the season.
  22. I think it is a mistake not going with Rathbone as his speed will be needed tonight. Rathbone maybe only 5' 11" but he is strong and fast. I think he is the better choice for the 3rd pairing guy on the left side.
  23. I have to say I am a little disappointed that Rathbone is not in the lineup for tonight.
