I am really impressed with Jake so far. He is using his speed to back check and stealing pucks. Scored a goal and throwing body checks without taking himself out of position. all things that are showing he belongs. I would rather see Jake here than the PTO's. He is making himself into a very versatile player capable of moving up and down the lineup on the right or left side. We don't have very many, or any guys like that. I think this maybe his time (here goes hoping).

Is there a chance that Bo wears an "A" this season? If this is the last year for Henrik and Daniel he could be the captain next year. Just wondering what others thoughts are on this topic.
-
How has Brock been so far in main camp? Haven't heard much from anyone yet.

Thanks for posting the video. You could even pick out the numbers and figure out who was on the ice. Looked like a line of Granny, Baer and Virts. Fun to watch.

Listening to 1040 and they were saying Jake was one of the most noticeable during the game in practice today. Sounds promising.

I think he could end up being a replacement for BG. For a big guy BG doesn't play very big so if he doesn't improve his offencive game ZM could be more suited as a 3rd or 4th line center.

I am always cautious with trying to compare one players development to another's because no two people are alike. I see these kinds of comparisons as being very broad strokes. Jake needs to be evaluated on his own merit. His development has been slow up to the mid point of last season but then seemed to make some positive strides forward. Green , Linden and Jimbo all spoke highly of his progress. It will be interesting to see what he does at camp with the improvements he has made.

I was looking at the young stars roster and didn't notice JD on the roster. Has he signed in Sweden? I've been out of touch for a couple weeks and was wondering whats up?
-
I think that I have said this before but I think that If Jake comes to camp in good shape and plays his big physical game he makes himself a valuable player and the kind of player we just don't have. I think of any of the young guys, he has the opportunity to make this team out of camp if he makes the best of his opportunity, he will be there opening night. Its up to him to prove he belongs.

I live in Chilliwack and was out taking a ride on my Motor Bike a few weeks ago. I found myself riding down around the Prospera Center and noticed some guys working out so I took a ride over there. I figured that it may have been some Chilliwack Chief but low and behold there was Jake pushing some kind of makeshift Sled with weights on it. I did not try to go talk to him because I am sure he has to deal with that all the time so I did not bother. I apologize to those who think Jake is not ready for the NHL or those who say he eats too many meatball subs. When I saw Jake he was working very hard and he did not look soft or fat. He was looking very solid and fit. I think Jake will come into camp chomping at the bit to prove he belongs in Vancouver on opening night. I recognize that all we can do is speculate at this point but I believe that he will show well at train camp and make the big club.

I am not sure how one could know about having his "crap together breaking his a$$, watching video etc, etc. I suppose one could assume Kane is all that you say but to talk as though you actually know him personally doesn't seem right. Also, Jake hasn't been in as much trouble as Kane. Kane has pulled some pretty stupid stuff. The one that jumps out to me is "Taxigate." Wasn't there an assault charge filed by a girlfriend or something (I am not sure if I am right on the assault charge but there have been other issues as well)? From what the Prez, GM and the coach say Jake has matured and is continuing to improve. It seems that most of the stuff that people complain about in reference to Jake are the things he did a year ago or even beyond a year ago. His being called out with some of the other young guys for not working hard enough, coming into camp 25 pounds overweight and having a bad start to his second year as a pro. The fact is that Jake screwed up but when down in Utica coach Green was able to help Jake lose the weight and to start putting his game back together. I think we need to give Jake some credit for working hard and hopefully putting it together so he can steal a spot in the Canucks season opener.

Are they talking about the Buffalo Kane not the Chicago Kane maybe, I think but I could be wrong.
-
I didn't know that much about Zack before the Development Camp but I thought he looked pretty good. He and Brock seemed to have a good time playing together in the Game they played. Considering his whole game I think he may make a good 3rd or 4th line center. How is he at face-offs?
-
Do you think he has learned what they wanted him to learn? I am hoping that with having matured puts him in the right frame of mind and with a coach that seems to be able to get through to Jake, he will surprise us with a great camp and a fresh start to the season with the Canucks. I think a strong, good conditioned Jake in the right head space is good news for the Canucks. Thanks for the comments and insight.

He really doesn't look like the kind of guy who would back down at all. He probably wouldn't go looking for fights but he wouldn't be afraid of anyone.
-
I have to addmit I am a bit of a homer and a JV fan, having lived in the Fraser Valler for some time, I am hopping Jake takes a spot this year.
-
No body knew Bure was old enough for the draft that year.
-
It was interesting that the announcer said that Jake has been playing exceptionally well for the last month. Encouraging to here. And I totally agree that he belongs on the left side.
-
The coaches must see something in Lind. He played but Inspector Gadget did't. I don't mean to say Jonah is no good. I really like him as a prospect and think he could Make the nucks down the road. Just trying to pump his tires a bit (Roberto Luongo words )
-
It seems according to Trevor, Jim and Travis, he has improved. I thought that this was common knowledge. All communications from the Canucks have been positive. I think the Canucks are a lot higher on him than a lot of people on this list. I am choosing to believe that a kid with that much talent will be a good middle 6 forward (hopefully on left wing ). Now I don't know if he is going to make the team this year right a way but I am hoping he shows up and takes a spot. He will shock everyone .
-
Go Go Inspector Gadet. I like it.
-
"Sought" is the word I believe.
-
Wasn't Kole Lind on the young side of this draft? On the flip side Jonah is on the other sidee of the age scale I do believe?!.

Kind of curious about a Rodin, Gagner and Virtanen line. Just a thought. Be an interesting 3rd or 4th line with scoring potential.
