  1. Maybe if we could stay clear of blasting other posters and keep the discussion on Jake and not each other it may help make this thread a little less hostile. The thread is about Jake not us.
  2. Or maybe he didn't like the band.
  3. www.youtube.com/watch?v=d-diB65scQU Good for all to listen to.
  4. Don't worry, not trolling (sounds like a song) its passion!!!
  5. I have to come back to the fact that he is 20 years old. On the young side of his draft. Its too soon to call him a failure or total disappointment. He is developing and at a speed not fast enough for some but developing none the less. I believe the more important thing is what is going on in his head. Is he starting to think like a pro. The things I've heard from Jim and Travis are that: 1. Green - When he came down he had a good attitude. 2. Green - He got discurraged because because he wasn't putting up points and that was the perfect opportunity to breakdown his game in order to develop his two-way game. 3. Green & Benning - Jake is a good guy with a good heart. 4. Green - In the last 6 weeks of the season he was one of our best players. 5. Benning - Jake is and has made major strides in the areas we wanted him to work on down in Utica. It sounds like to me that Jake has turned it around and is now heading in the right direction mentally and that is huge. He wasn't mature enough last year but he seems to have turned it around in that way which is a big deal. Hearing him speak in interviews and the little blurbs you hear on the internet, he sounds more mature as well. I'm a bit of a glass half full guy but I do recognize the benefit of healthy evaluation. So I hope all the comments keep coming (+ & -) and I choose to believe the guys that are a little more negative are just passionate for our team and want the same thing as me, a Stanley Cup.
  6. More than anyone we should be listening to what Greener has said about Jake. Green obviously has had a huge impact on Jake abd he thinks Jake is now in the right head space and has made major strides in understanding what it means to be an NHL player. If Green says he is on track, then I believe him. Also, not every prospect is going to develop like Bo. Some just are not as mature as Bo was. That is to be expected from 18, 19 and 20 year old kids.
  7. I would think after Beibergate there would be no more pictures of concerts.
  8. It is a bit frustrating to discuss this because no matter where you are on this topic, there is no way to resolve it until we see how he does at camp. I can speculate that he is in the NHL next year and scores 15 goals and you may say he is in the AHL lucky if he gets a call up. This is a bit frustrating. I want an answer sooner.
  9. I still think Jake will be fine. On a forum like this people have to be prepared to hear positive and negative stuff on a player because nobody is perfect and everyone has areas to improve in. Granted sometimes I think people go a little to far with the Jake bashing but when people are passionate about their team people will over do it sometimes. We are all here because we care about our team. Be careful not to judge people too harshly for passion.
  10. I don\t think JS is the same kind of player as JC. I think that heis more comparible to Tanev with maybe a little more offensive potential. Mind you, just because a kid has offensive potential in Jr. or even College, doesn't mean he will be that kind of player in the NHL. RE is undersized like JS and it makes sense that JB told him to watch Ryan Ellis. I think JC maybe watching some one else. Also, I think he is going to have to work an being a little more physical in his game in order to make it in the NHL. I think that is an ajustment for most young defencemen. I like how TS did that.
  11. The question one should ask is whether he is a better prospect than Neil and Olson. In my mind (no jokes about my mind) he is the better prospect. They only have so many spots on defence in Utica. Jimbo has to determine who he thinks will make Utica and have room to put those he wants there. In the next 2 years Jim will have a lot of his picks in our system. Does anyone know if there is a replacement for Alaska yet?
  12. 900 pages is something. Is this a record for the board? In the player/prospects threads?
  13. Wow, what just happened? If I did something wrong, sorry.
  14. Is JC strong enough to make the team straight out of Camp? I am a fan of the actual plane and so when ever I saw them advertised I instinctively would watch even though I didn't know why. I noticed JC and wondered why he wasn't drafted because he seemed pretty good. After watching the Mem Cup and knowing the Canucks signed him I was happy that he was in the fold. I am thinking though he still may need some time to get stronger and improve his speed.

  22. I have said it before, I am a Jake fan but I don't think people will stop talking about Jake's mistakes until he goes out there and proves everyone wrong. I think he will at camp but I just don't think it is realistic to think people will just let it go. I am not a fan of "slagging" him all the time but Jake has to have a good showing to prove everyone wrong. AND HE WILL.
  23. I have to agree with "Toews" and say the jokes got old fast; for me anyway. I don't think the subs comment was serious. I can't believe a person his size could actually eat multiple subs unless he or she was a competitive eater.
  24. Seems like people who are seeing him around are seeing him on a bike or having just worked out and seems to be in good shape. Maybe it is time to give him some credit for working hard and making things right. It might be time also to loose the "fat jokes,"
  25. I know Jake gets a lot flack but I think most of Canuck fans are cheering for him to make it.
