  1. It is so great to have a GDT to look through. Can't wait for tonight. 7:00 pm can't come fast enough.
  2. Oh, I forgot. Does anyone think Travis will sit Hoglander the first game or 2 like he did with Brock in his rookie season?
  3. Hoglander, "There Can Be Only One" and play Queen's "Prince's of the Universe" when he scores. PS - I'm a big Highlander fan.
  4. From my understanding he hasn't scored much this season in the SHL. 4 or 6 goals and the same in assists (Sorry if the numbers are off) Can we really expect him to score 25 to 35 points this season? We will have to see.
  5. My son is home from Vienna where he is working on his Doctorate in Computer Science and Pure Math. He loves hockey and I love watching games with him because he gets so excited. He heads back on Friday so we get the 2 games in Edmonton to watch together. Going to really miss him when he's gone. Glade we get 2 game to watch with Nachos and Guinness. Canucks take both games.
  6. Well Mikie didn't get sent down to Utica today. That means he will probably be on the Taxi Squad. I hope he sees some games this season. I think in a year or so Mikie will be pushing Thatcher; challenging him for the #1 spot here in Vancouver.
  7. No love for Louie here.
  8. You do realize that this pic is from the summer camp for the playoffs, right?
  9. Hoglander, "There Can Be Only One" OOps sorry wrong thread (or is it)?
  10. Hi Ray, I thought Podz was 6' !", not 6' 4".
  11. If Jake is in fact in the best shape of his career, that does help him on the mental side as well. Being in better physical shape will allow him to think clearer as his oxygen levels will be better allowing him to make better decisions on the ice (especially at the end of his shift).
  12. I don't think Jake can get down to 205 lb. I think 210 lb. or 211 lb. would be just right for Jake. His legs are huge. That is where he gets his power and speed. I think Jake will be in his best shape this year as a pro. He spent the off season with Tyler Myers working out with him in Kelowna. I think this bodes well for Jake.
  13. I think people have too high of expectations for Podz. He won't be a top 6 forward this year or the next. I see him on a similar path as Bo and Bo was not a top six forward right away. He was on the 4th and the 3rd lines. Expect him to develop with maybe 10 to 12 goals for his first couple seasons. I like Podz and think he is a great prospect for us. I just don't see him having the start that Pete and Quinn.
  14. I couldn't think of any thing better than this.
  15. Merry Christmas Ray, I watch all the Comets games and aside from the 3 weeks or so when he scored 3 or 4 hat tricks in a row (or something). The rest of the time is where I was noticing it problems when he would wynd up and go for a good brake just to loose it the puck for no apparent reason. I like the kid and hope he can improve but this is just an opinion. Hope you have a good Christmas.
  16. Has anyone heard how Jake is doing? He spent the off season in Kelowna with Tyler Myers working out with him and working on ice as well. I have heard that there are quite a few guys in the area that are playing Jr. or Pro hockey. I think this could be the time we see Jake come to camp in the best shape of his career and playing the best hockey of his career. I think we will see Jake stick in the top 6 and have the consistency we all have wanted to see in his game. Go Jake Go. Here's hoping for a new and improved Jake Virtanen.
  17. Still have Cosmar to watch on the Swedish Team.
  18. Does this kid remind you a little of Jasek? Same home land and a bit of a late bloomer.
  19. Is there a reason you chose Keily over Mikie D? Mikie is the better goalie so do you want him in Utica to get more games or do you have another reason for not putting him on the taxi squad. Just curious.
  20. Something about Bure also is, he could handle the puck well at top speed. Not all players can do that as well as Bure. Bailey is lights out fast but struggles to handle the puck when he gets going. That and the fact that he is a bit of a gentle giant concerns me.
  21. One of the good things about Podz is he can play on any line and contribute. When Bo broke in to the league, he started on the 4th line and worked his way up. He could do that because he was big and strong and could bang and hit like anyone else his size. Podz is the same kind of player. He could be just as effective on the forth line as he could be in the top 6. If Podz development mirrors Bo's, I don't think we will have any trouble with Podz development if we are patient.
  22. I would like to see Graovac tried as the third line center.
  23. Because of the money crunch, I am concerned we will lose Brock over this as his next contract will be qualified in the 7 mil range.
  24. He played on a very bad team in Flint.
