Man Matt Chapman had such a hot start in his contract year! I thought this guy was going to get paid! He’s been awful at the plate for a long time now! I’d contemplate whether or not I’d offer him the 20 million QO.
-
Ugh another pick wasted to clear a bad contract. Unfortunate as he probably has value at the trade deadline with his reputation and being in the last year of his deal.

Hogs would be the better option to move at this point in time. Podz has size and can still adapt his game to different roles. Love Hogs, but he’s unfortunately more expendable to me at this point.
Yeah I feel that too but included both because I’m sure every team probably sees it this way as well and would prefer Podkolzin. I’d love to move Hogs and a pick for him but like the poster above its likely Podkolzin.

High volume of FO taken with a 52% win rate is nice for a young guy. That with his potential you’d think he’s at the very least a 3rd line center with potential. If you can get him on the cheap I’d be very happy with trading for him. Podkolzin or Hoglander with a pick is an easy trade. We just have too many wingers down the pipeline of prospects and not enough centers.

If they have no cap space I wonder what they’re looking for in a return

Yotes going to win the cup with Guenther and Juolevi leading the way.

I'm guessing Beauvillier is traded before the start of the season.
Oh man I wish! For Pinto would be a nice deal for us

Forget Peeke the guy isn’t very good. Just big and right handed! He’s marginally better than Myers if even at all. If there’s a guy to steal under the radar it’s Adam Boqvist. Young guy who has struggled with injuries to get going and with their offseason additions and young guys pushing he might get lost in the shuffle. If he can stay healthy he could still become a good offensive dman.

Myers = no playoffs
No Myers = we have a chance
Myers in a top role hurts us. Myers limited minutes on a bottom pairing is fine. Only problem is you don’t want to commit 6 million to a sheltered bottom pairing dman but it’s not like we could move him and add somebody different at this point. May as well keep him for the bottom pairing/pk1 role. If we’re out of it just him being a RHD you’d get a 2nd or 3rd round for him at the trade deadline.

Davis Schneider keeps hitting. Almost sad that since being called up at the beginning of the month he’s sat for 10 games. When we couldn’t buy a hit but John Schneider played Espinal and DeJong instead of finding a way to keep this guy in the lineup. Need to play the hot bats!

Dallas Cowboys trade for 49ers QB Trey Lance
The Cowboys are sending a fourth-round pick for Lance, who is expected to be the No. 3 QB in Dallas.
The Cowboys traded for 49ers quarterback Trey Lance, people familiar with the deal told The Dallas Morning News on Friday. Dallas will send a fourth-round pick for the former No. 3 overall selection in the 2021 NFL draft.
The deal means a fresh start for Lance, who would have been QB3 behind Brock Purdy and Sam Darnold in San Francisco. The 49ers traded three first-round picks to draft Lance with the hopes of the 23-year-old becoming a franchise quarterback.
All the talk about Cowboys getting Lance to gain any sort of leverage while negotiating an extension with Dak is just crazy. Dak will get top money as every QB that needs a contract does. I think Lance is an upgrade at the backup QB spot for the boys. Also a 4th round pick for a 22 year old with some good upside I think the plan is to have him backup Dak and hope he reaches his potential. If he does then flip him for a lot more than the 4th round pick you gave up for him.

And once again Schneider’s managing costs us
He’s just awful. Blessed with a good team so people look at his record and think he’s okay. Guy makes way too many boneheaded calls costing us games.

This Davis Schnieder kid needs a bigger leash. He goes 0-4 on a night when basically everybody else on the team puts up 0’s and then he gets benched for a week. GM needs to keep the hot bats in the lineup or we won’t make the wild card.

The same thing could happen to us…
Could have signed Petey long term for 9 million if we didn’t have incompetent management at the time.
Agreed both him and Hughes could have been locked up long term at steals if we weren’t in cap hell with bottom pairing and bottom 6 guys getting paid too much.
-
If he can replicate the season he just had he’s easily worth that contract. He’s only 24 he could be better than his last season and could very well look like a steal.
-
Need Bichette back just to get DeJong out of the lineup! For his 13 games with the Jays he’s got a batting average of .071 and a .146 OPS. Surely there’s got to be someone better lol what are we doing here.

Bases loaded no outs in the 8th and they couldn’t get anybody. Man this team is just cursed when it comes to runners in scoring position.

biggio literally just won last nights game by himself.. and schneider ain't playing shortstop or 2nd base
Yes Biggio did good hitting a home run in the the last game. Give people enough at bats they’re bound to get something. Biggio is also sporting a .158 batting average in his last 7 games. Also find it odd you think Davis Schnieder can’t play 2nd base when he played 2nd base for the 3 games against Boston.

I think he’s just giving the rookie a day rest to reset after going 0-4 and 2k in previous game. But I would definitely pinched hit biggio in the 9th inning.. dude have 0 chance on 96+mph fastball..
I get that he just went 0-4 but that was on a night where nobody had a great night offensively. Even with his 0-4 night he’s done more in 4 games than Dejong, Biggio and Espinal have combined.

Kukuchi throwing a gem too bad blue jay is back to their non existent offence this series
I know Davis Schnieder is a rookie and still a lot unproven but John Schnieder playing Espinal, Biggio, and Dejong while he sits just seems like another bone head call by the Blue Jays manager here.

Happy they finally called up one of these bats from Buffalo! Good start for Schnieder hope the kid can hang!

Just spitballing, but I saw a report that said the Mariners have told teams that Teoscar Hernandez is "available"....
IIRC, he's a pending UFA, so the price shouldn't be too outrageous....
With his sub .700 OPS you could probably get him for Macko which would be pretty funny as he was the toss in prospect we got with Swanson for Hernandez.
