  1. Ugh I can’t believe we gave up a 3rd rounder to get him and a 2nd rounder to get rid of him in 1 year lol
  2. The OEL saga started that summer when Tanev left. It was that summer OEL said he wanted to be traded and only wanted to go to Vancouver or Boston. Then it seemed like that’s all Benning was trying to get done. Nothing eventually got done with OEL putting a trade deadline on a deal by training camp or something like that. Then played one more year in Arizona and they finally agreed on a deal.
  3. Oh to think we’d be out of these commitments right now and have Dylan Guenther. Also be out of the new albatross contract in OEL and Garand whom I like but for some reason Bruce throws him on the 3rd line and sits him in the press box in favour of Brock Boeser. Then there’s the probably would have never let Tanev walk if this trade never happened and that right side defence looks a lot better. OEL does what Tanev does but from the left side and at double the cost. Don’t know what management was thinking on this one.
  4. Dumb delayed penalty. Note to self if somebody is laying on the ice skate into him and fall over to get yourself a power play.
  5. I liked Dahlen a lot but never felt like management had a choice. He was entitled and pouted when Pettersson made the team and he didn’t. Then demanded a trade. Not really much management could do in that situation. He was drafted a year before Petey they played on the same Timra team and seemed to be pretty good friends at least at the time. I think all those things got to him when it shouldn’t have as Petey at the time was clearly the better player. Fast forward and the deal is looking positive for us which is nice.
  6. Perfect claim him he’s a defenceman now! He’ll be our 3rd best!
  7. If you do that you may as well fire all scouts and make the draft 3 rounds deep. What makes the draft fun is being able to find a diamond late! You could get a steal in the middle rounds with good scouting and obviously a lot of luck!
  8. Hopefully Mikeyev is as good at killing off power plays as he is at penalty kills!
  9. Should have signed Deslauriers instead of Joshua! Would have cost a bit more per season but it’s so nice to have a guy on the 4th line that consistently finishes checks and has people worried.
  10. Right side d is fixed just turn his 1 day into a 1 year and get him in the lineup!
  11. Refs missed a double minor high sticking penalty as Hughes got clipped by Kane when is was 3-0. Then the Oilers started to look good.
  12. Oh man I wish! His cost is likely similar to what you’d ask for teams inquiring about Quinn Hughes. So that’ll never happen.
  13. All this talk of trying to get cap flexibility maybe they shouldn’t have signed Mikeyev to 4.75 mill a year. I mean the team already has Boeser, Garland, Kuzmenko, Podkolzin, Hoglander and Pearson to occupy the top 3 lines. Feel like that was a luxury we couldn’t afford for a winger. We’re hitting a cap crunch and it’s going to hurt even more trying to cover Millers and Horvats raises for next year or potentially losing a superior player in Kuzmenko because we already spent on Mikeyev.
  14. Some good names on todays list! I’d be down to put a waiver claim in for Myers! Another name I like is Brett Leason. I honestly haven’t tracked him much since the draft but he was an overager I wanted the Canucks to take in the 3rd round or later. Washington picked him in the 2nd round. He’s a 6’5” 220 pound RW that at the time of the draft had good hands and was racking up points. Would be nice to have a big body on the 4th line or as an extra forward. His hands have to be better than your typical 4th line banger.
  15. What a brilliant plan to acquire a limited offensively guy who was bad at Faceoffs and pay him with the intention of him being your 3rd line center. My god the wasted assets hurt 2nd rounder to acquire him and 2nd rounder to get rid of him. Thank goodness he’s gone and the cap is free’d up. Trade for Nic Hague now please!
  16. That name always gives me flashbacks of how excited I was when they said from the London Knights thinking we took Tkachuk only to find out seconds later they picked for position over BPA and took Juolevi lol.
  17. You never know if a guy like Noah Dobson a 50 point does everything 22 year old RHD signed this summer for 3 years at 4 mill a season. Dobson is better than Hague so I think if it’s a bridge deal it’d be less. Maybe 2-3 years at around 3-3.5 mill a year.
  18. Calgary just salivating right now seeing so many ex-Canucks hitting waivers!
