  1. I bet he’s hoping some team will give him a 3 year deal. Also think the money being asked for is over 8 mill a season. I don’t think we have the cap space to bring him in.
  2. I made proposal a little while back and it was Hoglander, Rathbone and Dermott for Roy and Hague. I think it gives them more incentive to make the deal within the division getting 3 very cheap roster players. Hoglander and Rathbone would be hard to part with but if we are targeting Hague then our left defence becomes Hughes, OEL and Hague so there’d be no room for Rathbone. Also scares me trying to roll out such a small defence.
  3. Nice I thought he’d take less then his QO for job security. This is a good number for him!
  4. At which point was I wrong? Is Lundkvist better than Faber? Is NYR 30th overall better then LA Kings 19th Or was Chytil’s best season of 43% in the FO circle and 4th season under 25 points make you think he’s a Center or more than a bottom 6 player? Would you put money on either of those things?
  5. The point was that JT Miller is better than Fiala and Minny got a better package then that old NYR proposal that management supposedly already turned down at the deadline. Which has me believing that we should be able to find something better out there better than a return of Lundkvist, Chytil and a 1rst.
  6. No Alf stay with me on the Necas, DeAngelo and Morrow return ;)!
  7. JT Miller is better than Fiala. Faber>Lundkvist LA Kings 1rst>NYR 1rst And Chytil is limited offensively and can’t win facoffs he’s looking like a bottom 6 winger. I’d honestly rather have Faber, LA’s 1rst and the cap space then Lundkvist, NYR 1rst and Chytil.
  8. Be hilarious if NYR finally cave in and dealt the prospects needed to get the deal done now. They’d have likely been in the Stanley Cup finals this year had they just done the trade months earlier. For that reason alone I can’t see them finally making the trade.
  9. 3rd round pick would be amazing but I can and would be happy with a 4th or 5th round pick.
  10. Get that 2nd overall pick before the draft starts because I can just see Montreal taking Slafkovsky 1rst overall so they can have a top line of Caufield Suzuki Slafkovsky. They’ve drafted a little out of the normal before. Once that pick is made NJD don’t trade that pick anymore. Even if they don’t shock the draft at 1rst overall I still like Slafkovsky in our lineup.
  11. A young Center with 60+ point potential, an offensive RHD with 2 50 point seasons and a solid RHD prospect. Just cashing in on premium position players. If Carolina doesn’t intend to sign DeAngelo which I get that feeling it doesn’t seem that crazy of an ask.
  12. This has been a similar proposal to one I’ve made but I also added in DeAngelo’s RFA rights. Morrow had a very good d+1 year so he could be looked at as more value than a 2nd round pick. Also Necas isn’t a 3rd liner! I’ll admit he had an off year last year because of the Carolina depth but the year before he had 41 points in 53 games. That’s a pace of a 63 point season at 22 years old. If that’s a 3rd liner to you then we sure could use some more 3rd liners on our team!
  13. Chytil isn’t very good at faceoffs I think he’s gonna mostly get pushed to the wing. So even worse a bottom 6 winger.
  14. He is an RFA and if management is willing to give him around 4 million on a medium range deal 4.2 compensation is only a 2nd round pick. In the proposal section I proposed Rathbone, Hoglander and Dermott for both their RFA’s Roy and Hague. It seems like a steep price but they’ll have a lot of suitors looking at both guys. I also dealt Miller for a mostly futures package to Columbus to make room for these two guys salaries and keep us under the cap.
  15. It definitely is better than the Rangers offer. However with so many rumoured teams we’ve been hearing about there’s got to be better than this.
  16. Yes I’m worried that he’s got his familiar love with a guy that hasn’t progressed well thinking he still can. Kapanen is what he is a fast decent checking line winger. Not worth his contract unless you’re moving him for the same thing a bottom 6 winger not worth his contract in Pearson or Dickinson. As for Carolina that is a bit rich for sure but that’d be my ask. Necas has potential but got pushed down the lineup last year and didn’t produce as much as they’d probably had hoped. Just have the feeling DeAngelo isn’t a guy they want to lock up long term so trading for his rights my evaluation is thinking that’d be worth about a 2nd rounder and Morrow being a former 2nd round pick. So Necas and 3 2nd round picks. You’re probably right maybe do without the conditional 2nd round pick on that hypothetical trade.
  17. Honestly though if Columbus, NJ and Carolina are interested I’d much rather a package from one of those teams. Carolina you could make get something like…Necas (top 6 Center potential), DeAngeo RFA rights (top 4 RHD), Morrow (RHD had a decent D+1 year in NCAA) and maybe a conditional 2nd that becomes a 1rst if Miller re-signs. NJD JT Miller for Slafkovsky Columbus JT Miller for Boqvist (RHD prospect with 50+ point potential), 12th overall and a young roster player like Texier or Robinson. I like all of these bases of a trade then anything Pittsburgh could have to offer for JT Miller.
  18. Kapanen to them is looked at as a 3rd liner. In the same situation as Boeser having a big QO they don’t think he’s worth. I wouldn’t want Kapanen back in a trade unless it was Pearson or Dickinson for Kapanen. Really the only thing Pitts has that they might be willing to part with that we should want is Marino and future 1rst round picks. So Miller doesn’t really make sense here maybe Boeser or Garland built around Marino but I don’t want a bunch of okay pieces for a 100 point player. Give me more premium guys.
  19. You could very well be right but with guys that project as bottom 6 guys more times than not they’re not Alex Burrows they’re Zack MaCEwen or Jonah Gadjovich. I’m not willing to trade my 100 point top Center man on a prospect with a very small chance of being a top 6 guy.
  20. Pitts prospect pool is very weak! While the measurables look nice on Poulin at 21 years old had a 37 point AHL season. His trajectory looks that of a bottom 6 winger which are a dime a dozen so really this is Miller for Marino and a late 1rst round pick. I’d rather target a team with a better prospect pool and get a top 6 Center prospect or top 4 dman prospect coming back in the trade.
  21. Still think we should move Boeser and keep Garland. Garland is signed to a very friendly contract, plays bigger and has room to put up more points if given PP time he deserves. If that happened Garland could probably put up around 65 points a year and we’d get at least double what everybody is asking for in trades now.
  22. Go back in time and take BPA Nic Hague over Kole Lind. Love how Benning drafts for positional need with Juolevi over Tkachuk and then when positional need and BPA align he takes Lind over Hague. I’d definitely be in on this deal maybe make it even sweeter and get both Hague and Roy.
  23. They traded some decent pieces for Lehkonen the only really prospects worth anything in their system for a guy like Miller would be Newhook and Byram. Obviously you want cheap guys coming in to keep your team competitive but true cup windows are smaller than they appear. If instead of trading for Lehkonen giving up Justin Barron (a nice RHD prospect) and a 2nd round pick if they would have sent Newhook, Barron, 2nd and a future 1rst they probably could have got JT Miller. This is no slight to Lehkonen but if they had Miller they’d probably already be celebrating a Stanley Cup. If they don’t win the cup this year they could regret this decision for a long time. So I’m hoping for Tampa for the three-peat so we get another big player in the JT Miller sweepstakes.
  24. Very unlikely Sakic does that but chances are better if they lose this Stanley Cup. Then they have cap constraints going into next season with albeit still a good team but they won’t be as good as this year. Then the year after cap hits them even harder with MacKinnon needing a deal that even on a discount could still see him almost making double what he’s at now.
