  1. Green keeps Virtanen on the right side cause he works best as a puck hound, at this stage in his career. Hopefully he starts unleashing that hard shot of his more, but when he does it always sails over the net. I'm not sure a change to the left side would remedy that.
  2. That's how I read it too. Elite of the elite, kinda like best of the best.
  3. Playing on your off wing usually works best on the powerplay. In the neutral and defensive zones, it's good to have your stick along the boards, so most players play on their natural wing in even strength. This seems to be true for Boeser, but Pettersson puts up points wherever he plays.
  4. I know he plays all forward spots, but he seems to be most comfortable on the RW, seeing that's where the coach puts him most of the time. I'm praying we get Dahlin.
  5. Pettersson plays more RW than LW right? I'm wondering because Boeser is a RWer, so they might not play together even strength if Pettersson is as well. Although they'll probably play together on the powerplay regardless - Boeser on the left side, and Pettersson on the right side. This is also important for the draft, because Svechnikov is a RWer. So if we get him we'd be absolutely stacked down the RW. But Zadina is a LWer, and Tkachuck is a LWer but plays some center. So do we go for the RW depth our try to balance our top six? Or do we hope that Pettersson is a center?
  6. Man, Pettersson Horvat Boeser could be a really sweet line
  7. I thought Petterson played well. I thought he drew a few penalties, but they were never called. Honestly, the refs decided the game.
  8. Petterson looked very dangerous on the power play, alongside Dahlin. It's almost as if the two are destined to play together...
  9. *Cough* Sakic *cough* Would love Petterson to turn out like Forsberg though.
  10. I suffered a herniated disc in my neck and it ruined my life for awhile. Feel so bad for him.
  11. That's what I was thinking. Maybe Virtanen - Gagner - Goldobin would work too, so Baertschi - Horvat - Boeser could be our first line.
  12. I kind of think he'll make the team ahead of Dorsett. Having to get your neck fused just sounds so bad.
  13. I hope this reminds people he was pretty fun to watch his rookie season. His shot and speed are too good for him not to be an NHL player.
  14. If Virtanen and Goldobin don't make the Canucks they could play on the same line in Utica. Would be good for them to play together.
  15. Goldobin looked good with Jake in the few games they played together in Utica. Although I really like Boeser with Horvat, and see that as a pair moving forward.
  16. I think it's a good idea to run 4 lines, but Bo would do the defensive draws, not Gagner. Honestly, I'd like to see Virtanen with Bo. They looked really dangerous together in the preseason and parts of Virtanen's rookie season. Virtanen is at his best when he's hounding the puck and laying out hits, and that goes well with Bo's style of play. His ability to play on the left or right wing, and his familiarity with Green, could mean that he wins a spot this year. But he really has to earn it.
  17. I wouldn't be surprised if Travis Green keeps Virtanen up to play on the third or fourth line. Might be good for Virtanen to play for Green rather than another new coach; that would be his third in as many seasons.
  18. Tolvanen and Kostin gone with back to back picks... Rats.
  19. $&!#. Was hoping we'd trade up for Liljegren. Falls into a very ideal spot for him.
  20. I'm just glad Benning got his pick of a center and got the playmaking Swede he coveted. Pettersson with Dahlen is very exciting.
  21. Not true I've seen mocks where the Canucks got him.
  22. With how wide open and unpredictable this draft has been, maybe it's good we didn't trade down. Benning targeted a guy at 5 and got him.
