  1. I was thinking of putting the Sedins with Sutter, as that could be like Kesler on the powerplay; with Sutter and Henrik taking turns taking draws. I think Cassels will be a very good center, but I'm not sure where he'd get to play. However, I think Gaunce Cassels Grenier would be a good line. Might even work well with Virtanen.
  2. Yeah not sure where Jensen fits in. Has proven chemistry with the Sedins so if he survives all the cuts and proves himself he could play with them.
  3. That's a good line up considering that Sutter is going to be in for awhile. Here's a line up with the Sedins in 3-4 years: Shink Horvat Virtanen (If all reach their potential, they can play first line) Baertschi McCann Boeser (Playmaking winger, 2way forward, sniper) Sedin Sedin Jensen (If Jensen improves he's the one to play with the Sedins when they're old) Gaunce Sutter Cassels (An absolutely annoying line to play against) We could play all four lines about equally. Cap may become a dilemma though.
  4. Good top 6. Although I'm starting to think McCann should go with Boeser, because they both have quick releases. Put Bo with his 'best friend' in Shink, and bodyguard in Virtanen. EDIT: For bottom 6 I would have-- Gaunce Cassels Grenier Kenins Vey Jensen
  5. Honestly I think Virtanen and Lucic on the same team would be amazing. That being said, I don't want to overpay Lucic.
  6. I think Boeser would work great with a 2way center and a play making winger. Who would fulfill that last spot?
  7. I like Ehlers, but I think Virtanen was the kind of player we had to draft. He's a BC kid. If we didn't get him everybody would be crying about that.
  8. Virtanen still posted a point per game. Maybe not at a clip some wanted, but if he can be productive while being a physical force then we made a great pick.
  9. I would bet on Subban or Hutton being #1's over him. Not that I think any of them will be #1's, but Tryamkin definitely won't be
  10. Ehrhoff was great that year, but he F'ed up in game 7
  11. That's going a bit too far. I don't wanna put a cap on Horvat's potential--if he got that much faster in a short amount of time just through playing shorter shifts and NEVER floating around, who knows how good he'll get. However, I think we'll all agree that while Horvat has a high floor, Mackinnon has a very high ceiling. He looked like the best player on the ice most of the time in his first playoffs. On the other hand, it's just ridiculous to say Boeser is better than Eichel, at this point. It's fairly likely Eichel will be better than McDavid in their first season. He is more developed than almost anybody who has entered this league at that age.
  12. Yeah that makes sense. I couldn't believe Jones slid.
  13. He also traded for a guy who didn't wanna be traded, and certainly did not want to be there. Just a bad, bad deal.
  14. A GM not named Gillis had him ranked 4th. He might be right. Although some of us worried if he'd be able to drive to the net like he did in junior, he did that in the playoffs. When he converts those chances, oh man. I'd probably rank Mackinnon ahead of him though. Maybe Barkov.
  15. I said 'potential.' I don't think he'll be a 50 goal scorer like Neely; I just think he'll be similarly hard to play against.
  16. Hanzal is a good player. One of my favourite on the Coyotes. But it's the Coyotes.... Virtanen has Cam Neely potential. You don't trade that for a 30 pt producer.
  17. Virtanen for Hanzal is about the stupidest thing I've ever seen.
  18. Dude has such patience with the puck, but isn't afraid to let loose when he gets a one timer. I'm not worried about him leaving us at all. He seems really stoked to be a Canuck.
  19. I think I puked in my mouth
  20. I'm just talking about his ability to rove around the net on the powerplay
  21. Maybe it's just because he played Finland, but I just realized that another comparable for his ability to find open spots is Selanne. If he can develop the same kind of offensive awareness as Hull and Selanne, in finding places to shoot, then we've got a player on our hands.
  22. It's also possible he joins after the WJC, when some players have been traded. We could use that hitting acumen in the playoffs, and it seems like that hockey IQ issue has been overblown.
  23. He knows where he wants to shoot before he gets the pass. We haven't had a guy like him come in for a long time
  24. Stoked to hear he got a hat trick.
