Canucks would definitely have to add for sure.

But between the two players - is Virtanen and DeBrusk similar? How is DeBrusk's hockey IQ compared to Virtanen's? Speed? Shot? etc?

    Ask HF boards

CDC ain't the place. There are people here who thought Raymond Ballard and 1st could get us something decent back in the day smh .

CDC has it time and place and pros and con's but for fair value and learning other teams HF board is decent. Avoid reddit and YouTube comment and ofc twitter

Top 3 blunders aside 2012's 1st round wasn't that bad if you get out of the Top 3. And keep in mind Alex Galchenyuk is still a 50 to 60 pt player and Ryan Murray would have been a really good defenseman if it wasn't for his injuries.

That said beyond the Top 3 you still got some really good to elite defensemen

Lindholm, Trouba, Dumba, Rielly, Ceci, Matheson

Then you have Forsberg, Hertl, Vasilesky  and a handful of players that are effective top 9 players.

So 2012 still produced a lot of NHL players in the 1st round.

I wanted Murray so bad to.

I don't follow nhl much anymore but how is Seth Jones doing?

The Ottawa Senators are close to signing unrestricted free agent forward Alex Galchenyuk, according to TSN Hockey Insider Pierre LeBrun.

Bruce Garrioch of Postmedia adds that it's a one-year, $1.05 million contract.

Galchenyuk, 26, scored eight goals and tallied 24 points in 59 games last season with the Pittsburgh Penguins and the Minnesota Wild.

He was drafted third overall by Montreal in 2012 and has 135 goals and 320 points in 549 career NHL games with the Canadiens, Arizona Coyotes, Penguins and Wild.

The Canadiens traded Galchenyuk to Arizona in 2018 for forward Max Domi. He played one season with the Coyotes, scoring 19 goals and tallying 41 points in 72 games before being traded to Pittsburgh for winger Phil Kessel. The Penguins then traded him to Minnesota last February in a package for forward Jason Zucker.

A bust for spot in the draft but had his moments and made enough to retire comfortably

Why do you still trust social media?

    It’s a cesspool of misinformation.

Seriously, have you ever been educated from social media by people who aren’t experts or based their opinions on their own thoughts??

FFS, people’s social media accounts are not the place to go to for actual and factual information.

Stop doing that and don’t listen to them. Hell, don’t listen to most of the people here either unless they link something from a credible source or are trusted posters who have a history of proffering facts.

I understand what you are saying. I don't go on social media to get informed. Just amazed that people have even suggested this

There are significant numbers now of younger people that may be dealing with post COVID symptoms for a long time.  Check out IRP Lawyer on Twitter, her name is Kyla Lee and she is a young BC lawyer that got COVID in March while in the US and has been dealing with long term effects ever since.  She has been really open about what she has dealt with and I'm sure there are lots of similar stories.  There was one recently of a 31ish gal in Vancouver, admitted that no one in her crowd took COVID seriously, they partied all summer and then she got sick.  Was hospitalized, had to use oxygen when she was finally released and no idea how long/if she will return to normal.

Also, yes, old people are more susceptible to dying from COVID as are people with underlying symptoms.  However, many of those people with underlying symptoms may have had another 30+ years of quality life in front of them but for being infected with COVID.

Also, because of the heightened risks of increasing hospitalizations, we will soon be at a point where non emergency surgeries may be delayed again.  If someone you know is waiting for a joint replacement or whatever, some idiots partying may be delaying their access to surgery.

So yeh, just because the people you are talking to may think they have nothing to risk, the impacts are like ripples on the water.  There are increasing hospital costs that ultimately impact all of us through increased taxation.  The longer we are in this mess, the greater the financial impacts, which will mean we will all be paying for this pandemic for probably the next 2 or 3 generations.   And who are they to decide that just because it's old people and people with underlying health issues that are more impacted, its ok then?  Any person that gets sick and dies is loved by others, be it friends or family and those people will all be grieving the loss.  Is that ok?

Thank you so much and ofc it's not ok
