[Rumour] Bo Horvat Trade/Contract Talks
Attila Umbrus replied to HOFsedins's topic in Trades, Rumours, Signings
Oh geez, not sure really lol. I know it’s rare but it does happen. I just think if he’s gonna do it he better do it soon. You want to build team chemistry through the year and the earlier the better IMO. Early season trades do happen, and I don’t think Horvat would be an absolute block buster trade. Maybe in Canucks land it would be, but it’s a trade involving a 60 point 2nd line center. These trades do happen. It’s not like they are trading a franchise all star player. I think the return will be solid, but maybe less than some here may think. -
[Rumour] Bo Horvat Trade/Contract Talks

Good point, even JR hinted that he’s not gonna sit and wait to get Horvat extended. If he makes a move it will be early in the season IMO. -
[Rumour] Bo Horvat Trade/Contract Talks

I was gutted no doubt about it. And it coincides with some of the worst hockey I’ve seen Canucks wise…I shudder. So happy we got Linden back to play out his career here. edit: I will say this, Horvat is not in the realm of Linden for me. Not even close. -
[Rumour] Bo Horvat Trade/Contract Talks

Agree, but I honestly feel bad for feeling this way. He has given everything to this team that he can offer. I have nothing but respect for him as a player. But right now, where this team is trending he just doesn’t fit with the new direction. Will see how this all plays out, but I definitely will not be shocked to see him traded. -
[Rumour] Bo Horvat Trade/Contract Talks

Hence the Nuge Hopkin comparable that management has given to Horvat camp. And honestly I think they are right. I do think Horvat is better but not by much. His face off prowess is amazing but he does not have the play making ability that Nuge has. One thing that has bothered me with Horvat is that they have put almost every winger at his side and none have ever panned out. He’s a very North/south player and has problems utilizing his wingers. He can play with guys like Pearson no problem, but if you give him someone skilled he just can’t seem to mesh with them…as much as I loved Kesler back in the day that was the same issue with him. Never used his wingers properly. In Keslers defence he was way more dynamic than Horvat has ever been, so it didn’t matter too much. Kesler could carry the team himself some nights. I rarely see Horvat carry the team and put it on his back. I want change, and moving Horvat will immediately make a difference in the locker room and on the ice…with all due respect to the hard work he has put in for us over the years I think it’s time to move on. -
My small Bieksa story: Years ago, I would fly lots for work and spent too much time in the damn Vancouver airport. One time my flight got canceled due to break down. Air Canada put me up in the fancy fairmont hotel there. As I’m dragging my miserable butt over to the hotel to check in (I was miserable because I had to explain to my boss what happened even tho out of my control he was still a dick about it), I run across some of the Canucks finest heading out on a road trip…Sedins and Bieksa…call me star struck! I honestly can’t remember everything I said, most of it stupid and fan boyish. But they made the time for me and I wished them best of luck and they wished me best of luck as well in my own travels. I just loved that they took the time to stop and give me some time as a fan. Will always remember that. It also changed my crap day to an amazing one instantly, Thanks Juice n Twins! The End

I’m gonna try my best to get down there Shooter! Long ways for me to travel but as soon as I seen this my wife and I started adding up what it will cost to get there…not cheap lol but I think it’s totally worth it. She’s from Nova Scotia and has never been to a game before, so would be a cool way to introduce her to my second love of my life…Canucks hockey. Cheers my man, hopefully we can make it. Looking at flights as I speak lol.

2022-23 Abbotsford Canucks Thread
Attila Umbrus replied to CRAZY_4_NAZZY's topic in Prospects / Farm Team
Could be correct, I see him as a possible 4th line C in the NHL one day, but he could also turn into a Carter Bancks. Who was a great captain for our young kids in Utica. -
[PGT] Vancouver Canucks at Edmonton Oilers | Oct. 12, 2022
Attila Umbrus replied to -Vintage Canuck-'s topic in Canucks Talk
First game of the year. Gotta get those jitters out. We looked good, lots of chances, just need to zero in on them better. Hogz and Miller both had wide open nets and they missed by a wide margin, both those go in and it’s a W. I’m not as let down by this game as others. There were lots of good things to see. 5 v 5 we looked great and kept up pace. Boeser I thought had great hustle in the first half then lost his steam after…which will happen if you miss all pre season. Horvat was emotionless however and I’m actually kinda concerned by him. I don’t like him as a captain unfortunately. The oilers brought their dirty game and our captain does not push back or get his troops fired up at all…that needs to change if we want to close these games out. Our special teams killed us…similar story for a few seasons now. You look at the oilers PP and they are so dynamic they just kill you with it…our PP is way softer…just a bunch of predictable perimeter passing and looking for Petey one timer…sorry not gonna cut it. I was surprised by Kuzy and his net front presence. Not bad for a smaller guy. We need to stop being so static on the PP…that’s on coaching. Our PP literally looks like copy and paste from last year. This is where games can be won and lost… -
[Waivers] 64 players - Oct. 09, 2022

I agree, he would be my target too. Still very young and could be a very good project. He definitely hasn’t performed well since his first season but he’s young enough to bounce back. Last few years he’s barely played a full season so I wonder if injuries have derailed his career…such a common theme for players unfortunately. Our RD side has lots of grit and toughness, I think Butcher would add some nice playmaking ability to our right side. -
He wasn’t losing his father last year like Boeser was…let’s give the flow this year to see what he can give this team. His dad is in a better place and he seems fresh and rejuvenated. I’m looking for a big year from him. edit: to add to this point, he has always had to keep part of his mind and heart at home through out his career due to his dads health…this may be the best Brock we will have ever seen. Free from his stresses at home.
