I confess i’m not very online savvy and don’t know the overall meaning of what a “troll” is, but Alf does NOT fit the description of a troll from what i’ve seen from other posters calling trolls out on here. He does not deserve to be called one...Respect your fellow Canucks fans please! Everyone on here has one thing in common, we love our Nucks and we all love this team equally, and we are entitled to show it our own ways... We don’t have to agree with each other but let’s save calling the trolls out for the ones who deserve it. ...Plus don’t they say love is blind?

I think his bad play has been over played, the games i’ve watched of him he seems to be progressing and getting better. Still a way to go, but progress is progress! -

Also not that I just want him to be good because of his story/name. But Saucerman is really active from the point. He’s always trying to sneak shots through or get the puck deep for his forwards, I actually really like how he plays. Hope he keeps it up! Get Sauced Utica, Jasek with EN goal. Another win. Now that both teams are healthy we’re starting to see some wins! -

Found a neat story on Utica’s website about Joe Roberts their new play by play commentator this season. I didn’t know he came up from the Kwings from the ECHL. (For anyone who is interested in reading, this guy is a joy to listen to) http://www.uticacomets.com/news/detail/new-voice-of-the-comets-joe-roberts -

Gauncer short handed goal, really liking his game tonight. Lind is also looking good with his limited ice time, has made a few nice plays out there. -

Do they ship these shirts to Canada or just available in store? I'm all in for this if it's for charity! -

Agreed, and for all my Archie love over the summer I will say i'd rather Schaller on the team as a 13F than Archie. Was really rooting for him to stay with the big club but he just did not earn it at all, very dissapointing. But on the other hand now I get to see him wreck guys on AHL live now, so not all is lost! HAHA, you may be onto something there. In that case JT keep whining about your buddy gagme to the TO media!! Sorry I even complained about it lol.

Well to be fair Alf, I really liked Carcone. He has a motor on him. If you want a comparable, think Brendan Gallagher in Montreal. Very similar type of player. But Carcone's problem is that he is too selfish and doesn't use his teammates nearly enough. In the AHL it works for him and he's putting up points, but I have major questions as to whether he could do it at the NHL level. At the end of the day he could pan out he's got pro game written all over him. But we wanted a guy with size as we already have enough smaller skilled guys in our prospect pool so he became redundant. Plus gotta love that Benning traded him while his trade value is at a high and got an NHL player out of him. The Marlies play the Comets enough to know what they have in Carcone but even if he pans out I don't think it hurts us in the long run. All the best Carcone! Leave er to Leivo is now in the house!

All this talk about Benning catering to vets that he's signed but yet they willingly avoid Gagne while complaining about it. Gotta love all that cherry picked information. Benning has clearly stated that if young players perform better than the vets then he will make room for them. There is a high possibility once and or IF our team gets fully healthy that Benning would waive Schaller. As he's done so with Gagne, who by the way is whining again in TO. The guy just seems like a baby and can't come to grips with the fact he hasn't played well other than the few games he got after getting called up. I remember an interview with him last year where I really got a bad feel about him character wise, he seemed like a total ass. Then you have Tavares in TO pumping Gagne up and saying to the media that he doen't know what is going on in Vancouver but Gagne should be in the NHL. Shut up man and focus on your team!

You know what's comical..John Garret was a goalie in the NHL...says all you need to know about tending back in the day. But they had a different view of goalies back then. The goalie land scape started to change in the late 80's when Roy came in and introduced the butterfly style. I don't know enough about history to say where it came from but Roy brought it into the main stream and changed everything.

Seattle Expansion Draft - Who do the Canucks protect?

Seattle Expansion Draft - Who do the Canucks protect?
Attila Umbrus replied to lukchin's topic in Canucks Talk
I don't understand why we have to protect Pettersson? at the end of next season it will be his second year pro, so wouldn't he count as this below...? * All first- and second-year professionals, as well as all unsigned draft choices, will be exempt from selection (and will not be counted toward their club’s applicable protection limits). -
I’ve said this before and people laughed (and maybe will again)...but my high end prediction for Jake is Corey Perry. He’s got the snarkyness, the shot, that smug look, can hit like a truck, is great defensively, and has a power forward body but with way better skating than the average power forward...all things that used to make Perry so dangerous...I know it’s a completely rosy prediction, but the similarities are there. You can point out that Perry was elite and Jake may never score at the rate he did in his prime, but Jake doesn’t have a big dominating center like Getzlaf feeding him. Perry’s points back in the day were very inflated because of that fact. Like you all i’m loving Horvat and Virt together, and I think you’re bang on that Baertchi suits that line very well! Things are looking up now that we are getting healthy again!

Yep he looked great, when you have Patrick Kane swooning over you then yah you've got game! All his US team mates were impressed by him. I'm sure they know how to judge whether a guy can play in the NHL or not.

Agreed, and I think for all of peoples complaints about Green he is the right coach for us right now. He is a players coach, he understands what these kids are going through. I've loved how he has handled Virtanen, Baertchi, Goldobin, Hutton, etc. He's not going to get through to all of them but the ones that do buy into his development approach seem to really blossom. Unfortunately I don't know if Green's shelf life will see us past this development stage in time. But he is a great developmental coach and provides players with a sound platform to succeed. I also don't think we will truely as fans appreciate how much Green has done for this team until he's gone. On another note, I hope Green does stay and grow with our team. I look back to AV when he was coach, he came up with the guys from Manitoba and worked his way through the system as well. He wasn't perfect off the bat either. He was a very defensive minded coach right from the get go, but when he came to the NHL he was smart enough to know that he had to let the Sedins, Naslund, Bert, etc do their thing offensively. He didn't want to kill that side of them. I see the same in Green. As AV grew as a young NHL coach he learned more and more about the other teams in the leauge and found ways to shut them down. That takes time, I don't know why people expext Green to know everything right off the hop. He's learning too. And has shown willingness to grow.
