[Signing] Canucks sign Cole McWard
Alflives replied to -Vintage Canuck-'s topic in Trades, Rumours, Signings
He’s 21 and not 24 like all those other highly touted D. In three years he’s very likely a much better player than those guys. -
Gillis won GM of the year. Gillis won two president's trophies. Gillis got to game seven of the Cup. Benning won the “I ran out of time” medal of ineptitude.

Great signing. Gillis vibes of greatness to this. -

The Haberlosers with the double loser whammy tonight. They get embarrassed on the ice and then their Fla 1st drops into the Kate teens. Makes old Alf smile seeing the Habs lose twice like this. Losers gonna lose! -
You be so wrong friend. It’s inarguable fact that Gillis was GM (and z president) during our most successful era. Why bother trying to fight against that fact?
-
Can you refute the two President’s trophies and game seven of the Cup? Who was the GM during those great Canuck years? My goodness. Open your eyes to the facts young fellow.

We agree. Gillis took an existing core and used every means available to build a great supporting cast so that core could reach greatness. The club’s record shows that. That was his job and he did it well. Benning was given an impossible task. Our owner directed him to rebuild a new core, retool the supporting cast, and do both while still trying to compete. Fortunately we came out of those 8 years with a nearly complete new core. The new management team completed the Benning core by adding Hronek. And they continue to retool the supporting cast. I truly believe they will go one win better than Gillis and bring our club the Cup.

Yes, the result is good for our securing a better draft spot, but the Habs are too funny! Do bad and really no future. Their President and GM are terrible at the draft. They wasted their 1OA last draft. It’s just fun, on our board, to watch that club be losers. -

Sure. Gillis our most successful GM was bad and Benning out most unsuccessful GM was good. Hey waiter! I want what this guy’s drinking! And make it a double!! -
Yup. And there are some people who are just bad or beyond saving. Just put them down. This guy is one of those. We had a guy actually saw off some innocent person’s head on a bus and then start eating at it. And he’s free now, and among us. That’s just so wrong. If a person is clearly guilty of murder, then it’s the hangman. The guy in the case of this OP shouldn’t even get a trial. Swift dispatch of him. “Put him (it) down”.

(Rumour) 4 teams interested in J.T. Miller
Alflives replied to combover's topic in Trades, Rumours, Signings
If we are lucky enough to win the lottery and get Bedard I think he would start his career on Miller’s wing. And then get a friggin’ knuckle dragging goon to play with them. -
It’s terrible what happened to Michkov’s dad. I wonder if the young player wants to get out of that country and over here with his whole family?

[PROPOSAL] Tyler Myers to Philadelphia
Alflives replied to Elias Pettersson's topic in Proposals and Armchair GM'ing
We pretty much must buyout OEL. We can't afford the risk of keeping him. As for Myers, we will have a trade in place that get finalized after his bonus is paid in September. That will clear his whole cap.
