Yup. I like the trade for value but it’s more of a rebuilding than a retooling deal. I think our younger guys follow Miller’s lead too. He’s a very important piece for us on and off the ice.
It’s fun watching our guys play so well. We are no longer giving up so many of those high danger chances. Guys are playing hard defensively. And still we are scoring lots of goals.
650 was reporting that Miller got hurt in game one v the Oilers and that he’s been playing with said injury the whole year. Looks like he’s over whatever was the problem. He’s flying now and was clearly not skating his best earlier.
I guess we will find out in the coming days where Livingston goes. I’d guess we are out on him because we won’t offer up an NHL guaranteed deal. He’s big, but is kind of a lumbering skater. He needs a lot of AHL time.
Hronek was Detroit’s best D. They stink without him. He hast played in quite a while and he looked great! He played almost half the game too. He’s going to be even better as he gets back into game shape and up to speed again. If Allvin can find us one more of these elite D we will be looking really really good.
Dionne put up 1800 points. McDavid will end his career around that number. Both will never touch the Cup. Fun as hell to watch with the puck, and funny to watch without it.
It was clear from the beginning we stole the Wings best D man. It’s been confirmed est hi g the Wings struggle without him. It’s even more evident watching Hronek play tonight. The guy is a brilliant player. Thanks for the gift Detroit!
