  1. Guys on 650 (Wishinsky?) saying that Adidas preferred the MLS and dumped the NHL.
  2. Yup. Hughes will anchor one pair and Hronek will anchor the other. When it’s most important, they will see time together. The Wings went into the tank after Hronek went out. Seider got the press (and should; he’s their future) but Hronek was clearly their most important D. And now we have him. Huge get for us. Kind of like when Gillis was able to support Edler (our one D at that time) with Hamhuis. That’s how to build a winner.
  3. Yup. The Avs got Toews for Makar, which allowed Makar to be far more offensive minded. When we had Tanev, Hughes was producing more than Makar. With a Tanev level partner Hughes is a 100 point player and a plus 40.
  4. Dahlen had another chance with a different club and still refused to Phat the right way. NHL skill for sure. But lacked the motivation to play without the puck.
  5. Point your finger at our owner. He’d have to direct management to tank, which he’s never done. Plus we have too many elite players (especially Demko) to tank. This club, as it stands now with a healthy Demko and good coaching) is top ten in the league. Add Hronek to the core and improved supporting pieces and we are competing for Cups.
  6. Yup. It’s good to have several guys competing for jobs on the big club. The key core players (Demko, Petey, Hughes, Miller, Hronek) have their spots and we are trying to retool the supporting cast. All those younger guys are competing for those spots and trying to push out the players (in those spots right now) on the big club. It’s super important for our club to have this internal competition. The younger players need to learn this is not junior or college. This is the NHL, jobs are worth a lot of money, and even your teammates aren’t necessarily your best friends off the ice.
  7. Yup. Detroit has gone in the tank without him. We stole their best D. And he’s going to anchor our second pairing for the next 5-8 years.
  8. Makar has a fabulous partner (5 on 5) who allows him to be more offensive minded than Quinn can, considering Quinn has to carry an AHL level player. If we had kept Tanev Quinn’s offensive numbers would be even more amazing.
  9. 6-1 now. Too funny! Marky Mark could stop more pucks!
  10. We were 10 wins and 10 losses over the final 20 games last season. Plus, must of our wins were because of our goalie stealing the game. Now we are winning (almost every win) because we are the better club.
  11. When comparing cores we are so much better than those two teams. Get Hronek into the lineup. Have a healthy OEL. Continue to retool the supporting cast and we are easily over 100 points. Wings and Blues will be craperolla for years to come.
  12. Considering these stats could OEL actually be a good partner for Hronek? Maybe we have our second pairing? just need a partner for Hughes.
  13. Yup. I’m thinking the vast majority of us fans loved Bo. But he definitely wasn’t worth what he was demanding. We moved him and got a king’s random in return. We turned Bo into a right shot 2D, a top line winger, and a great young C prospect. We are both younger and better. All while diving the bullet of keeping Bo at 68 million.
  14. Habs’ and Wings’ fans must be pulling their hair out. They both were thinking not that long ago they’d be getting other teams’ lottery picks. Now it’s looking like those picks (Panthers and Islanders) will be those from playoff teams.
  15. When a team relies on a crappy core this is the result. Wings have been craperolla since we stole their best D man. We will pass the Wings.
  16. Why would even a drunk person push a wheelchair down a flight of stairs? Beyond strange. Would this guy push a shopping cart down a flight of stairs? How about an office chair? Beyond weird.
  17. JR wanted to make the coaching change over the summer. As reported by Seravelli (posted in earlier threads) our owner refused. Our goaltending is a lot better with a healthy Demko (he’s brilliant) and with a total team commitment to defensively sound play. No more cheating the game to get points.
  18. 5-2 Puke ugly helmeted Knights That D man who played for the Blues: Petajello.
  19. We aren’t “only one player away” from competing for the cup. But we do have the hardest players to get here in place. We have the core, and as a group that core is of a very good age to win now and for several years to come. What we need are better supporting players. And management is bringing in those guys. Some work out, and some don’t. But we are close.
