  1. Bigger boys tend to take a bit longer to get up to game speed to start the season. Jake's reason for poor play was fitness.
  2. Never liked Ehlers. Way too soft. Unless he puts up 80 plus points, he's hurting his team. Way too one dimensional. I liked Ritchie at the draft too, but found his skating to be far too limited. He's not much more than a fourth line guy at best. Jake has the entire package. He's been out of shape. Now we will see the real Jake, and will be thankful JB selected him over those two previously mentioned, and (much like Nukushkin) soon forgotten.
  3. Jake's ceiling and potential to influence games in multiple ways (bigger Hansen) is far more impactful than either Ehlers or Ritchie. Ehlers is very small, and one dimensional. Ritchie can't skate, and struggles to keep up. Jake will be, by far, the superior player of the three.
  4. Read on TSN.ca that Travis has a torn ACL. I don't know if the doctors could know that yet, so maybe that report is wrong? JJ needs to work very hard on following his progression reads. He appears to "get stuck" on his first read. He has a fabulous releas though. Reminds me of Roy DeWalt's.
  5. If the choice s a 13 th forward was between Rodin and Pedan (Pedan plays forward in preseason) who do we keep?
  6. Yup, he did. He said that several of the guys from the practice squad, every season, get game time, with injuries and changes in the starting line-up. Hopefully, Adam gets a chance, and plays so darned good he stays in the line-up.
  7. Plays a lot like Max .Domi. Hard to believe this kid was a fifth round pick. Steal by JB.
  8. True enough, but Pettersson shows Patrick Kane like hands on the goal.
  9. Where was any player (other than the goalie) from the opposing team? Pettersson doesn't panic though, and just shoot. He has nerves that kid. Really like this pick.
  10. The Oilers, for one, had the wrong prospects. It worked out for them when the got McDavid, right? It depends on the individual prospect. Saying that, if Boeser earns a spot, then he will be on the team, regardless of promoting ticket sales. I think Virtanen, because he can play up and down the lines, is more likely to make the team.
  11. The NFL has mostly black guys as players, yet there are only a very small few who are vocal, like Bennett. I wonder how many of these young men have experienced this kind of scary stuff with police?
  12. How many of us have seem Jake play while slim and in proper condition? He's going to really surprise a lot people with just how friggin good he is.
  13. Boeser would called up if a fourth liner (Dorset) got injured?
  14. Boy does Reid ever look young!
  15. Too funny! That little guy looks exactly like Marchand.
  16. I wonder if guys who played in the NHL have a certain status in the Euro leagues?
  17. 5 on 5 I see (like you) Granlund with the Twins. I think Vanek will need to play with a defensive minded centre, so maybe Sutter? Could the top two lines be: Twins and Granlund? Baer and Bo and Vanek?
  18. i did hear that Andrew Luck is injured and not playing in this week's opening game.
  19. Thanks for the update. Really enjoyed watching Tryamkin play, and glad to hear he's doing well back at home. I bet he learned a lot playing here, and has a really good year in the KHL.
  20. I think you're right. I remember reading (here?) that many scouts believed Pettersson the most skilled guy in the draft, who would be selected first, if he wasn't so thin.
  21. Are there any concerns Goldy goes back to Russia (KHL) if he gets sent to Utica? Guys on 650 talking about the potential of that happening, especially considering Tryamkin's choice to leave after (in his mind) he felt he was not fairly treated when it came to playing time.
  22. Okay Jimmy.  What did you do with S'al?

I feel ya, S'all sometimes I feel like Spider-Man. I just want to live a normal life, I'm tired of saving people's asses. I do photography as a job to make quick money, but Jonah doesn't pay me in my world. My girlfriend is an actor/model. The only problem is I don't have any superpowers. I'm just playing though, the best characters in shows or movies is the ones you can relate with. Although, I can relate with Spider-Man in some stuff though. I can't watch TV shows, I've heard Breaking Bad is a really good show but the only TV shows I keep up with are regular ones that come on TV like The King of Queens, Everybody Loves Raymond and Fresh Prince of Bell-Air.

  23. I remember refusing to see that in the theatre, because of knowing how it will turn out. Then, it came on TV one night, and the Mrs convinced me to give it try. I ABSOLUTELY loved it! Great movie.
  24. I remember watching a Warren Moon led Husky team destroy Michigan in the '78 Rose Bowl. It was awesome!
