  1. Again you are basing your evaluation of Jake's hockey Q on fat out of shape Jake. Do you not think 30 pounds overweight, and not fit effects thinking, when under physical stresses? Of course it does. Plus, being fat and out of shape keeps a player out of the play, almost looking lost. I agree Jake has only shown he is anything but a top 10 pick. I do have expectations he will be a far different player (surprising many) when he's at weight (under 210) and fit.
  2. Again, you are evaluating fat Jake. We have yet to see fit Jake. Fit Jake will be quicker to space, not tire so quickly in shifts, and be more able to keep up with the play.
  3. Could very well be. In his mind though, Jake was a playoff kind of guy, and those other guys weren't.
  4. That quote sounds like JB thinks about playoff success, and players who can perform in the playoffs. Maybe that's why he chose Jake over the guys who were selected so soon after? JB saw Jake as a playoff guy, and saw those other guys as not playoff guys?
  5. I sure hope it doesn't take Jake a "change of scenery" to become a top nine forward:(
  6. Except we've never seen Jake at weight, and in proper shape. A 30 pound lighter and finally properly fit Jake could certainly be a much much improved player. His ceiling could be a lot higher than predicted for a fat out of shape Jake.
  7. Wow! How much weight is he squatting? It looks like A LOT.
  8. So you're kind of saying that we have yet to see a fit (proper weight too) Jake. Heck, he might really be a very good player, when fit and 200 pounds?
  9. Looks to my eyes like he's got a bit of a muffin top, when focussing on the area immediately above the white stripe. Put a rainbow too-too on him, and I see no difference, other than five years in age.
  10. How can you tell that? He's got a shirt on, and a too-too. I understand your skepticism about Jake's fitness, and weight. He's done nothing but disappoint so far, when it comes to his professional responsibility to be at weight and fit.
  11. I think our new guy (Petersson) is built similar to Karlsson. Jake is a thick person, with a bigger frame. That's why he is so able to pack on weight. His being 207 is excellent. Just looking at his face can reveal he's dropped the 30 extra pounds from last year.
  12. That's the one picture I am referring too, and Jake looks fine. His face is as lean as I've ever seen it.
  13. He looks fit in the one I saw: he's wearing a rainbow too-too. What pictures are you referring to?
  14. God, if they both turn out as NHL regulars, that's a mean pair for sure.
  15. With Gadjovich coming along, maybe in a year it will be time to move Jake?
  16. Totally agree. A guy like Gadjovic might in a couple years.
  17. Kane didn't get 30 pounds overweight. God imagine Kane trying to play at 200 pounds. He would get killed! That's why I'm hopeful for Jake. He's 30 pound lighter, which will make a HUGE difference in his game.
  18. I think bad stuff associated with that name goes waaaayyyy back. Didn't the first "Kane" slew his brother?
  19. Didn't Kane fight John .Scott?
  20. Not a fighter as his only skill, but as a supplement to his existing skills. If he has Kane, St Louis, or Goudreau skills than (of course) he need not fight.
  21. Eventually he will need to go to the dirty areas to be an effective NHL player, especially in the playoffs. If he could fight, it would be another tool in his tool kit. His odds of becoming an NHL player would go up.
  22. How much taller is Kesler than Domi? I'm saying at 5'6" he could make space for himself by being nasty, and backing it up.
  23. I wonder if Palmu can fight, or is taking boxing lessons or something? If he could scrap to go with his skills, it could be easier on him.
  24. I think he even said he patterns his play after St. Louis. He met Martin, and commented on the size of St. Louis' quads.
  25. I hope we get a top six pick too. I like Boeser, and think Brady Tkatchuk could be a good centre for his game.
