  1. Lucic forced his way onto the Bruins, when he came out. And Jonah plays like that.
  2. I like hearing we use multiple methods to choose the best players. I wonder if JB and TL have been tight lipped about their use of analytics to keep other teams off the guys we like? Kind of playing stupid?
  3. Someone posted fancy stats that showed Dahlen and Pettersson were both equally responsible for the vast majority of their team's scoring.
  4. Gagne playing with Dahlen in a season could be pretty cool.
  5. Pettersson will accomplish more in his NHL career than both flamingo flying Nylander boys combined.
  6. I accept it seemed his hockey Q was not great. I think being fat and out of shape likely made every part of the game harder. It's not so easy to make nice plays, or even think straight when you're always gassed. There is a bright future for Jake, but I don't expect him to become more than a Jannik Hansen player. Not bad though, I guess.
  7. The one glimmer of hope we have is Jake has never been fit, or light, like he is now. Before he played with poor fitness, and (to be blunt) he was fat. Let's see the new slim, and fit Jake. I believe his skills will shine, and he will score us 20 + this season.
  8. Players need to have decent academics don't they, to get a college scholarship? It's not football or basketball. It's hockey.
  9. Why would any junior club screw over their own season though?
  10. Good one! Ya, love Bieksa. That was such a great support group for the Twins. I'm really hoping this next group of young guys will be like that too. I think Pettersson has elite potential. Now we need one more of those elite guys.
  11. Agree, but would like to add he would be a top team's number one PK guy too. He we free up the offensive minded guys to play lighter minutes.
  12. I agree 100%. It would be disappointing if OJ, and Pettersson and other prospects don't reach their ceiling. I'm happy that JB is selecting guys with elite skills, and high ceilings. When our rebuild is complete, and this next core is on the big club, I want our team to be a Cup level team, not just a mediocre one.
  13. Yes, younger guys are more ready than ever before for the NHL. However, natural maturity can't be sped up for some people.
  14. So true. Just look back at Larry Robinson. He spent 2 full seasons in the AHL developing after Junior. He turned out pretty good. And Duncan Keith too took until he was older, before he developed his game. By all accounts OJ is a guy who is super smart, skilled, and competitive. He is worth waiting for.
  15. Didn't we take our best two players ever top five, and had to wait several years for them to develop into the stars who led us to our best decade of hockey?
  16. Dane Fox, for one, couldn't skate nearly so well as Palmu. Plus, Palmu drives the offence with his play, while Fox relied on McDavid.
  17. Is the little girl Burrow's, or is he posing for a picture with your friend's child?
  18. I remember the Edler, Hansen, Burrows, and Kesler group that followed the twins. I think this group could be even better. For certain we have more of them.
  19. I'm of the belief we need to stay at or close to the bottom, and draft top five, for however friggin long it takes to collect a group of similar ages players who are good, and there are a couple elite guys in there too. It's like the top Cup teams have two elite guys close to the same age, who are supplemented by a few more really good players near that age too. We had the Twins, and they were supported by a core group of guys a few years younger, but they mostly grew as a group together. We need to get to that place again. I think Pettersson is a special player. He's one. Now we need another one. Hopefully we get him next draft.
  20. Mel Bridgeman? Not sure though, but I think I see his moustache.
  21. A great reason to watch Utica games!
  22. They NHL must limit the height of the leg pads. The taller guys can go into their butterfly and literally cover the entire bottom of the net, and not leave any room in the five hole. Either shorten the leg pads to create space in the five holes, or widen the nets an inch to create space in the bottom corners.
  23. I really believe for a smaller, more athletic, goalie to make a comeback the nets will need to be bigger. Otherwise the larger guys still will just block shots, much like a lacrosse goalie. Still love the pick though. No reason he couldn't become an excellent bargaining piece down the road.
