  1. Fleruy grew up in Quebec, and lived in Pittsburgh. He's got to be okay (if not prefer) a colder winter climate like Calgary to Vegas, no?
  2. Would skipping Vilardi be like skipping Tkatchuk last draft?
  3. It's good Jake is able to go down without any restrictions.
  4. What if he earns a spot in our top nine by playing really well in the pre-season? Should we send him to Utica like we did with Stecher, even though he deserves to be on our team?
  5. We won't sign Miller until after the Dallas deal for third overall is for certain a no go. That deal would (likely) require us taking back Niemi.
  6. We need elite skill, and those two guys might have the most in this draft.
  7. Good. I'm glad we are in on Makar. I see him as being (potentially) the most impactful player in this draft.
  8. When Jake came back from the WJC he actually played his best hockey for about 20 games. He was noticeable on almost every shift. Then like you say, he chose the Pilsbury training regime. I'm excited to see Jake playing at under 210, and fit.
  9. If Tanev is not returning a U23 guy or a top 10 pick, then it's not a rebuilding move is it?
  10. Tanev to Buffalo for Kane + 8 overall? (Would we need to add Virtanen?)
  11. I'd like JB to get more picks for this draft. Tanev for 3, and we draft Makar and Glass. Would JB do that though? Those two players are likely 3-5 years away from making meaningful impact, but could have the highest ceilings. Would JB be patient?
  12. He's traded away a lot of draft picks to get 23-27 year old guys. Hopefully he doesn't trade anymore away in this draft, but adds instead.
  13. I hope I'm wrong too, but JB's commitment to a slow rebuild worries me:( This draft has guys at five that will take years before they impact our team. Will JB be patient?
  14. Is there potential we hear Betman at this draft say, "we have a trade to announce; the Vancouver Canucks trade the fifth pick for Sam Bennet"? JB is big on speeding up his rebuild by getting more mature players, and Bennet fills that need.
  15. I hope, if we take Middlestadt, he is ready in two years - like you say. He certainly has potential to be a number one scoring centre. I just don't want us to "Tryamkin" him. Sign him, but send him to the minors. Then mess up his contract, and he leaves as a UFA just when he's finally developed:(
  16. That's my concern with Middlestadt. We are in a rush to sign him, because we want to make sure he signs with us, that he is not physically ready - and struggles like Bennet.
  17. I hope you're right that Middlestadt only needs two years of college to mature. I see him as having a very high ceiling.
  18. CHL player though. Middlestadt is a high school player committed to US college. Like I said, I believe he will develop into a good player. I just think it might take hi the full four years of college to do so. That's concerning.
  19. Middlestadt's lack of physical development concerns me. Not because I don't believe he will become a very good player, but because it might take him the full four years in college to fully develop. Then he would be crazy not to take the UFA route, like Vessey.
  20. Why did Jake get the "easy" treatment from WD and management?
  21. Considering Tryamkin's excuse for leaving, Larsson's playing baffled him too.
  22. I think there are suggestions/rumours that we move Jake along with Tanev to get number three from Dallas or Kane and 8th from Buffalo. I think in both cases we could end up with Makar and Glass
