  1. Taller lanky guys will certainly have troubles with bench and pull ups.
  2. Jake's being fat, out of shape, and not professional is an excuse for his lack of production. I agree. His biggest problem is himself. I am a lot more frustrated with JB than Jake. JB stated he drafts for character, yet his very first pick with us lacks it.
  3. Jake's been playing carrying an extra 30 pounds, likely eating poorly, and not being aerobically fit. That's an extremely poor base to extrapolate from. Like you say: we need to see now what we have.
  4. Agreed. Unless the light player has fabulous skating, puck skills, and vision just stay away in the top picks.
  5. You are comparing fat out of shape no commitment Jake to other players who are (likely) fit, and seriously professional. Jake is FOR THE FIRST TIME fit and committed to being a professional. Now we shall see what we have.
  6. How the hell should I know? My point is , points in the A are not always an indicator of NHL success or failure. Jake is for the first time in likely his career actual fit and a proper playing weight. Let's see how he does with it.

  8. Didn't Linden Vey average close to a point per game in the AHL too, before we traded for him?
  9. How many of those players were 30 pounds overweight, and had zero commitment to off ice fitness training? Those stats are for fat Jake. Let's see fit Jake. Calgary traded away a fat Brett Hull. Maybe they should have waited to see what a fit Brett could do first?
  10. Your view is not, and has never been trolling. It's a different opinion.
  11. Fitness, and 30 lbs lighter will make a HUGE difference for Jake. He has elite skating, shot, and aggression. He will get on players and pucks much quicker now that he's fit and light.
  12. Just heard Llijergrin (sp) suffered through mono or something this season, and it really set him back. I wonder if he could be someone, when healthy and strong again, who could make a huge improvement in his draft + 1 season?
  13. I understand that, but with Hitch there, clearly they are all in now. Plus, Hitch will want to improve their struggling defensive play. Tanev is better than any player they currently have at playing D. Maybe they could trade one of their RHD for a pick or something?
  14. Isn't HItch now the Dallas coach? Doesn't that mean they are all in next season? Considering his desire to play a defensive style, wouldn't they much prefer Tanev over the options you suggested?
  15. Will either of those two teams take back Niemi though?
  16. He does? His lack of commitment to fitness and being a professional is his fault. Otherwise, he kind of has elite skill, size, aggression, shot, and skating. We need to see him fit, and committed to being a pro; then we will see how his elite package of skills come together to make him a force. I was down no Jake too, for some time, but seeing him in shape, and committed to off ice professionalism, has me encouraged he will be fit enough to display his talents this coming season.
  17. 1040 was just speculating Tanev + 33 or 55 for that 3rd pick now. Earlier they had Jake and 33 in their proposal. Would we do Tanev + 55 for 3rd overall and Niemi? Does that sound at all fair?
  18. Heard Ray Ferraro say the Green's NHL career included a time when he too, like Jake, wasn't a proper pro - especially his commitment to fitness. Then he matured and became a very good player, who played a lot of years. Maybe Green sees some of his younger self in Jake, and that helps with the two connecting?
  19. Middlestadt could easily be the best of the draft. So could Makar.
  20. These boys aren't at a Justin .Beiber concert, are they?
  21. I recognize: Juiolevi, Goldobin, and Boeser. Who are the other 3?
  22. You mean the dreaded JB throw in 2nd round pick: Vey, Baer, Sutter, Gudbranson?
  23. Biggest fight ever will be the Mcgregor v Mayweather.
  24. Do we not already have a dman who plays that offensive minded way in Subban?
  25. I sure hope this kid gets a fair shot at making out team. He does look good, and we don't want to lose another guy to the KHL. I wonder if he would play in Utica, and be okay with that?
