  1. Alf agrees. There is ZERO incentive for Demko to come out early. This will become the norm
  2. He could stay in school, and develop for another season, without suffering in the A. Then, next season at this time HE GETS TO PICK WHICH TEAM TO SIGN WITH. What would you do?
  3. It's certainly probable that Demko plays one more season, so he can pick his team. Why would ANY college drafted player NOT stay in school until he's a UFA? There is zero incentive to come out early. Oh boy come out early to make 50 thousand, and ride the busses in the ECHL, or the AHL.
  4. What's with the IF he gets Demko signed? Do we have no carrot to dangle? Nothing?
  5. He is our property until he competes four years of college. He loses his scholarship if he signs with us. We own the rights to sign him until he completes next year - 2017. He becomes a UFA after that. This applies to Boesser too. Except he still has three years left in school.
  6. Alf is not attempting to start anything. Alf would like to know if the team drafting a college kid has any leverage at all for the kid to come out early? For example, if Demko signs now, could we offer him a year OFF his ELC for playing only a few weeks in Utica? Should Alf be worried about Demko NOT SIGNING because we can't offer him anything special to sign now?
  7. Does the result make any difference to Demko (maybe) staying in school? How quickly is he allowed to sign with us after this game? How quickly could we get him to Utica? Would we be able to offer him burning a full year off his ELC by playing in Utica for the last bit of the season and playoffs down there? Alf is seeing no incentive for a guy, like Demko, to sign now, instead of waiting to be a free agent next summer?
  8. Why did our owner higher a rookie President, and then allow for a rookie GM, and a rookie coach? I really don't understand how a successful business man can make such a mistake? Could you imagine if Aqualini did that with a condo contract - rookie management, rookie architect, and rookie builder? He would be penniless. Plus, he's not so wealthy the team is just a toy. He needs the franchise to be economically viable. The management has cost the owner a great deal of money. Both in yearly revenue and franchise value.
  9. He would have a FAR BETTER chance of "hitting a home run" with the second and third round picks he keeps throwing away, than with the crappy cast-offs he's getting. He should have traded Shink for the Flames second or third round pick in the coming draft instead of just throwing him away for NOTHING! Dorsett = 3rd Vey = 2nd Baer = 2nd Sutter = 2nd Pedan = 3rd Granlund = probably a third for Shink. That's A LOT of swings, especially if choosing D with those picks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Alf speaks the truth. and you know it is so.
  10. Some might add that it's the young players figuring out what is expected of them who are responsible for our winning these three in a row. Guys like Pedan, Gaunce are included in that group.
  11. Simple rule for D: "Early-Easy". It's OKAY to play the puck off the wall. Alf thinks icing is better than a turnover, especially a turnover where the D is rushing the puck, and all his teammates (excepting his partner) are going forward too. Early - Easy.
  12. How about we DON'T HAVE ANY D SKATE THE PUCK OUT? Is it not BETTER to move the puck, and then join the rush? Seriously, skate the puck out! That's why Bartkowski keeps getting in trouble. That's how a lot of D get into trouble. Move the friggin puck, and then read the play to see if it's best to join the rush, stay back, switch sides, or change!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Please don't upset Alf again.
  13. Pedan looks really good at forward though. We really do need his presence up front. I bet Dorsett loves having Pedan out there too.
  14. Saw him in Utica last year in their playoff run. The team was winning the finals too, until he got injured. With him out, the team lost. His physical presence is HUGE. Much like Tryamkin's and Pedan's.
  15. Could we lure him out early by getting a full year burned off his contract by playing the rest of Utic's season?
  16. He's shown to be a smart, hardworking 200 foot centre, who can provide some offence. He's a younger Richardson. Or maybe he's got the ceiling of s Bonino.
  17. Fabulous post. I learned a lot here. how about a guy like Girard in round two? In three years he might look pretty darned good beside a Pedan, or Tryamkin.
  18. I like Tanev too, but we need him to either play a harder game, or get more points, for top four money. IMHAO, of course.
  19. Tryamkin would be the only minute muncher of our top five tha plays a physical game. Edler used to, but he's a softy now. Tanev is a bean pole softy. Hutton has the offence to compensate for being soft (so we like him eating minutes) and Hamuis is just WAY overpaid for a guy who puts up 10 points and plays soft. That leaves us (if we want to be a Cup team) with Hutton and Tryamkin. TRADING EDLER AND TANEV, might be a good idea, if building a Cup team is what JB is doing.
  20. Alf is getting tired Frog. I bet you are really young. Alf is renaming you Tadpole. You will understand when you become a toad. Now stop sucking your toes! seriously, I love JV on our team, but I love you too. You make some good points.
  21. Insecure. Who's hiding behind some silly frog avatar, not willing to show who he really is.
  22. Look Frog. Players, who avoid the ice between the dots are McSofties. He's another Nail Yakupov, only not as tough. If you like having softies on your team, then you better pick a team other than the .canucks to cheer for, because Brnning is building a tough team, where all the players go to the hard areas.
  23. Just when our team is starting to display some meanness, and pushback you suggest we would be better off with more soft perimiter players. WHY, don't you want us to build a winning team? . The Coilers have a slew full of MUCH BETTER soft offensive players than Nylander and Ehlers, and how has that worked for them? You want us to add soft less talented guys than the ones the .coilers have? How in all that makes sense does that help us?
  24. Tryamkin is a better skater, far more skilled with the pick, and a much smarter player than Pedan. IMHAO, these two players are not even close in talent and ceiling. Pedan is a seventh D. Tryamkin is a minute munching top three.
