Zero chance guys say publicly they want a coaching change. But almost every player will say they have no interest in rebuilding and that they want to win. we have an elite young core. It would be foolish to rebuild (which means switching them out for a new core group) we are retooling the supporting cast. And that’s exactly what we should do. OEL, Myers, Brock, Garland are supporting role level guys we will see replaced in the coming year.

(Rumour) 4 teams interested in J.T. Miller
Alflives replied to combover's topic in Trades, Rumours, Signings
Likely why Allvin preferred the Islanders’ offer for Bo. He got a very valuable first, which he knew he could use to get a to four (younger) right shot D. And he wanted a very young centre who has 2C potential. Raty in 3 years might develop into the guy who takes minutes from Miller. -
Sure the owner has insisted upon this direction since he bought the club. But with Gillis at the helm it worked. We had a core pretty much in place to which Gillis added (retooled) an excellent supporting cast. It seems the current management is in a similar circumstance to when Gillis took over. They could, if retooling the supporting cast works, have success.

(Rumour). Jake Livingstone D - NCAA - NHL Availability
Alflives replied to SilentSam's topic in Trades, Rumours, Signings
Considering how late Livingston’s season will go can he sign with us and play enough games to burn a year off his ELC? Offer him that plus getting to play with Hughes on our top pair. -
Hits and Misses - Evaluating Rutherford and Allvin

Hronek is a win now and a win in the future piece. Mikeyev is a win now and a win in the future piece. Management is building their core group, while also building their supporting cast. Kuzmenko is win now and win in the future. which player did we add who is only a win now guy? -
[Signing] Canucks sign Aidan McDonough to two year contract
Alflives replied to Odd.'s topic in Trades, Rumours, Signings
We can fully dumperoo Garland. (5mil) buyout OEL (7 mil) and trade Myers after his bonus (6 mil) That’s 18 mil off the cap for next season. We replace their minutes with Hogs (1 mil) Wolanin (1 mil) and Hronek (4 mil) That’s 12 mil cleared for next season. We can keep Brock, who is a good top six guy. He is good on the boards too, so is effective in a heavier role. -

Habs should find some guys who are more than just goons. No reason to attack Byram there. Send that good back to his cave. Habs used to fly. Now they’re a joke. -

Good point. Brock needs to lean down. No more “da Beauty League” for his summer training. Head to Gary Roberts. -

[Signing] Canucks sign Aidan McDonough to two year contract

Exactly! Brock is 20 pounds heavier than when he was at his best. I think he can become an even better player than before if he committed to fitness and got down to 190. -

McDonough mentioned in his interview on 650 yesterday that he knew we had a fantastic skating coach (Braid) and was excited to work with her. He also mentioned Jack Rathbone is his best friend and he had talked about how good it was here for development as an overall player. -
Hits and Misses - Evaluating Rutherford and Allvin
Alflives replied to Elias Pettersson's topic in Canucks Talk
Yup. Completed the key core with the addition of Hronek. Still working on the supporting cast. Got to dumperoo OEL, Myers, Garland, and Boeser to create the cap space to make the supporting cast super good. -

Which means it’s a load of craperolla. Much like the Demko wants out stuff, which Demko himself said never happened. The Pens phoned on Miller but didn’t make an offer. Likely Allvin said the cost was two firsts. Allvin would have wanted enough draft capital to turn the picks into the centre he desired. Much like he did with the Bo deal. -

Which is why we might have to buyout both OEL and Garland this summer. Clean up that ugly trade. -

And Garland. -
Yup. Miller took a seven year term too. 8 mil x 7 mil = 56 mil. Bo wanted more. Bo got 68 mil over 8 years. Miller is clearly the better player, and proven as such over the time here. When compared to Bo, Miller would be 9 x 8. Miller took a lot less to stay here.
