Hronek with Hughes is instantly one of the best D pairings in the league. Hughes with Juulson, Bear, and other much lesser D than Hronek is fantastic. Hughes is an amazing player. We want Tanev Back! Benning.

If we are drafting where I think (5-9 is where I think we pick unless we win the lottery) and Michkov is there, we would beyond foolish to not take him. He’s going to be an absolute steal for the team that gets him. Off the charts skills, smarts, and compete. In three years he can slot in beside Raty and Podzilla.

Wings give up 10 to Dallas and today are shutting out Boston 2-0. -
Yup. And if we can’t trade him this summer then for sure he’s at least third round pick value at the 2024 TDL. He’s been much better with the new coaching staff, that’s for sure.

In next season’s universe. New Beau will be costing less than half of what old Bo costs. -

Who are those elite Cowpie forwards that poster was referring to? Huberdough? Kadri? The Flames best player is Chris Tanev. -

Huberdough 10.5 per x 8. For a 50 point, soft as hell, perimeter passer. We should get Tanev back. He’s too good for that craperolla club. -

Kind of sounds like that’s what happened. He’s had five surgeries. Likely his career is over. So his cap is LTIR. I’d like us to buyout OEL this summer, but he’s injured, so we might not be allowed to.
-
I don’t think teams are allowed to buyout injured players. So Pearson will finish his time with us (next season is his last) on LTIR.

Reminds me of the Gillis regime. We went from a very likeable Nonis to a curmudgeonly Gillis. We recently went from a very likeable Benning to a group of not so nice guys. I see these new guys, who aren’t at all likeable, doing what Gillis did. Building us a fabulous team that we fans are very proud of.

Yup. Hughes will anchor our first pairing (he’s been amazing with pretty much AHL level partners). Hronek will do the same for our second pairing. One of those two super D men will almost always be on the ice, and in the most critical parts of a games they will likely be out together.

(Rumour). Jake Livingstone D - NCAA - NHL Availability
Alflives replied to SilentSam's topic in Trades, Rumours, Signings
Getting Livingston to sign will be great. Hughes, Livingston Wolanen, Hronek Dermott, Bear -
1- Buy out OEL. 2- Full cap dumperoos of Myers and Garland 3- Dumperoo Boeser with 1.65 retention.
-
And Quinn plays at such a high level even though he's got AHL guys for his partners.
-
Great news! Now let's get Linvingston next!!!!!

Hughes is so good he makes his partner look a much better player. -

IMHAO we aren't that far off from Cup contender. We have the key core in place, as you pointed out. Except I'd add Hronek as a key core guy too. He's going to anchor our 2nd D pairing and play the most important shifts with Hughes, when needed. Where we are lacking is at 3C, a couple stout D, and some other supporting roles. These can be collected via minor trades, free agent signings, or filled from within. The harder part was building a key core that meshes well together. We have that now. Summer moves will happen. OEL will be bought out. Myers, Boeser, Garland will all be traded. Big changes in the supporting cast. -

Livingston will Hughes' partner. It's the carrot, we can dangle that no other team can, to get him here. He play well and with Hughes, his next contract will be a lot more money than if he's on any other team. Hughes is the key. -

No. The old “get out” line is a classic from the Terminator movies. -
