  1. Don’t worry. Yzerman will be taking ASP with his top pick, which comes before ours.
  2. If the Sens could get Debrincat at the Caufield number then that looks really good for them. Clearly Debrincat is the superior player.
  3. At 9 mil per? Not likely. It's very likely the Sens don't qualify Debincat.
  4. Sens have to know already that Debrincat, because of his contract (he's a decent player) has no real value other than to take back a contract.
  5. Shows how great a trade Allvin made getting the return he did for Bo.
  6. Can you post the list? Thanks.
  7. Especially if that player is a very small winger. This is a big mistake by the Habs.
  8. Good comparison. Not a core player for sure. But at least Debrincat is tough and plays with grit. CC is either scoring or he is a liability.
  9. The NHL is a collection of owners. If Meurello sells he will choose the best bid. The league wants him to sell to Salt Lake or Huston or Atlanta. But those buyers will want a deal. So their offers will very likely be a lot less than what QC is willing to pay. The league owners, if they want the club in one of Betman's three preferred US cities will need to pony up the difference to make the deal. Seattle will be one of the clubs paying to have Meurello get as much from (let's say) Huston than he would get from QC. And that difference will very likely be substantial - 300 million at least. So Seattle share will be around 10 mil. This whole Coyotes' debaucle will end up in court. The league will try to force Meurello to sell to their choice and Meurello will fight to choose his buyer. The settlement will be out of court where the league owners agree to pay off Meurello with the lost money he would get from QC.
  10. True, but how much will the league have to eat for a sale to a city they prefer over QC? Meurello is going to want maximum dollar. Will the other owners pony up the difference? How will recent expansion team Seattle like paying 650 while the new owner in Salt Lake or Huston get their club for half that and the Seattle owners are paying for that to happen?
  11. If we can get PLD for Miller then we do that. The Jets would be ecstatic with that deal because they are getting a 1C, ppg guy signed long term at a great number. They would have to way overpay to even get a sniff from a UFA in Miller’s level. PLD will likely sign with us. It’s about the money. 8.5 x 8 and he’s way better than old Bo. Not as good as Miller, of course. But he’s younger and that costs.
  12. We traded Bo to save cap. He was the elephant in our room. JTM is worth more than his contract. So, you are right that JTM Carrie’s a lot of value. Clubs that can’t attract high end UFA’s without crazy overpaying would definitely pony up to trade for JTM. Winterpig for PLD is a trade the Jets would pounce on, but they’d have to add. Columbus is another club that woukd pay through to roof to get JTM. 3OA. Befalling too. Likely Owen Power.
  13. Simashev has size and skates well. He’s a defensive D though. Brings zero offence. Doesn’t sound like a difference maker.
  14. I don’t get your math. The cap cost is what I stated. It’s added to be the cost of the plsyer taking OEL’s spot on our bottom pairing, so likely less than a million. A guy like Wolanen or Hirose. So the total cap cost to us is 1 mil the first year. 3 mil in year two. Then a couple at 5 mil. Then the rest at 3 mil. Or we can watch OEL eat popcorn in the press box as a healthy scratch and see that bottom pairing spot cost us 8 mil for the next four years. It’s clear we should buyout OEL this summer but our owner won’t write the 20 million dollar cheque to do so.
  15. Excellent idea. That’s a very fair trade. But I think Nashville would rather dump Glass on us and keep Schaefer.
  16. Actually the cap hit is almost nothing this coming year and the only 2 mil the next. Then a couple at a bit over 4, then the rest at 2. It’s actually a very reasonable buyout schedule. One we could certainly manage and we would be a much better team for it. But, again, our owner will not write that cheque. He should but he won’t.
  17. Love to see OEL bought out this summer but there is no way our owner will cut a 20 million dollar cheque to do so.
  18. I’m wondering if PLD’s agent has floated this whole Habs thing to get his client more money from the club he eventually signs with. IMHAO PLD signs a very large contract but it’s not with the Habs. The Jets would fit certain want Miller. He’s a great player and signed long term. They don’t have to worry about him leaving. This is a club that could never sign a UFA like Miller, and especially to such a great cap hit. Miller for PLD makes perfect sense from the Jets pov. Not too sure we’d do it though.
  19. Did we draft them? Nope. They are therefore bustaroo bonsais. Destined to have good AHL careers.
  20. I want him on our team. Best player in this tournament. He’s going to be real good in the National league. Guenther is an overager and was terrible! Worst player in the tournament.
  21. That Quebec team pretty much dummied the WHL clubs.
