  1. From Daniel Wagner ("Pass It To Bulis") today: Canucks head coach Travis Green will answer questions about players during training camp and give his opinion but it’s rare that he volunteers a name. But, when asked if any players had surprised him at camp so far, Green offered up some rare praise. “Our young draft pick from last year, second-rounder, [Danila] Klimovich has looked good,” said Green. “He's a big kid, skates well...I thought [Karel] Plasek had a pretty good game today. Again, a young guy, it's not always easy to stick out but I liked his energy and he looked like he can make a play. Yet it's still hard for a young guy to come in and make a lot of plays, so you're kind of projecting with some guys.” Klimovich certainly stood out on the ice, wiring several hard shots during drills with an impressive release. With his size and skating, he was able to push back in battles and create space for himself. “I love all the battles, I love the speed, I really enjoy the small ice,” said Klimovich via translator. As for his shot, Klimovich is setting his sights high: “I'm trying to compare myself in the future with Kucherov and Ovechkin.”
  2. Harman Dayal 2h Danila Klimovich has some confidence. Went through the legs on his breakaway move in the rush drill Thomas Drance 2h Danila Klimovich’s raw puck skills already look NHL level. Young winger has dekes and tricks for days. #Canucks Satiar Shah· 1h For a player who was only drafted a few months ago, Klimovich is very assertive and confident in scrimmage
  3. Harman Dayal 35m A few notes on under the radar guys from the first #Canucks scrimmage - Persson's looked quite good. He's made some really nice outlet passes. Calm and collected with puck, decent wheels and IQ too - Plasek has good wheels - Di Giuseppe is a monster in terms of winning battles
  4. As I remember, OEL had knee surgery before the 2019-2020 season. There was interview with him in July 2020 when he said that he rushed too soon to play after the surgery and he felt 100% healthy in summer of 2020 only. This might still effect his skating ability in some way...
  5. Just a little break from the heated discussion: Daniel Wagner @passittobulis · Sep 10 After his offer sheet from the Philadelphia Flyers in 2006 gave Ryan Kesler a massive raise, he bought a boat and named it "Offer Sheet." And that's friggin' hilarious.
  6. My son have seen Podkolzin with his wife and Hoglander outside Rogers Arena just an hour ago. Interesting that Vasily makes friends with Hoglander who was drafted one day later.
  7. So I was right with my guess earlier - Danila has come to Vancouver with his dad.
  8. I think you are right. Otherwise Klimovich would fly directly to Quebec from Minsk on Thursday.
  9. The Huskies team is trailing 0-1 in 2nd period. Klimovich is not in the lineup for this game. Not sure if he is still in Vancouver... Next game will be on Sep 18.
  10. Horvat is quite a Russian word, it means Croatian.
  11. Now this couple is going to have tough first three days because of 10-hour difference between the Vancouver and Moscow time zones. From my experience when visiting my relatives in Russia, I feel quite awful the first two days and the third day is getting better. From his picture on the balcony we can see that he does not feel very well.
  12. This is realistic if Podkolzin has good season with Canucks. In Russia, by default, hockey players in the NHL have much better chance to make the national team.
  13. Following the latest news about the NHL players participation in the coming Winter Olympic Games, hopefully Podkolzin makes the Russian Olympic team. This would be great experience for him.
  14. Aquilini's Tower, right beside the Rogers Arena.

  16. Huskies play preseason games on Sep 11, 18, 25 - let's see how it goes for Danila, this would be first indication of his readiness for NA.
  17. 16-year old Matvey Michkov made his KHL debut for SKA St.Petersburg vs KHL Sochi club in the Nikolai Puchkov tournament and scored goal on partial breakaway. Today he played his second game for SKA against Severstal.
  18. Forget to mention that another Slovak prospect for 2022 NHL draft, defenceman Šimon Nemec also plays for Slovak national team in the Olympic qualifiers. Today Slovakia beat Poland 5-1 and both Šimon Nemec and Juraj Slafkovský gets 1A each.
  19. Russia beat Sweden 4-1 in previous game so this is pretty good Russian team to stop for shutout.
  20. Sure, this is exactly what Jim Benning has outlined for Klim in the last interview.
  21. Belarus lost 1-0. Shots 46-19 but they could not score. This happens...
