  1. Just a little note: Juraj Slafkovský is going to play for the Slovak national team in the Olympic qualifier tournament in Bratislava in Aug 26-20 (as 17-year old). And he already played for the Slovak national team 6 games in the last world championship.
  2. Did not know about this: Podkolzin was selected with the 92nd pick overall in 2018 CHL Import Draft by the Medicine Hat Tigers, AB (WHL).
  3. His teammates in Belarus call him Klim.
  4. As I said earlier, Klimovich got his visa in 2020 after the CHL import draft. And he tried to get to Quebec in Feb 2021 but his entry was denied due to the covid restrictions.
  5. Yes this is Olympic qualifiers and those games are very important for Belarus, their top manager said that going to Olympic Games would be like winning Stainley Cup for them. No suprise that the head coach Woodcroft has preferred to go with experienced players. Belarus has good chance to qualify but this is going to be difficult to beat Slovakia on home ice.
  6. Interesting news: unlike Podkolzin who is waiting for Canadian work visa, Klimovich has already obtained it in 2020 to play for the Huskies team in Quebec. He may move to NA whenever his duty with the national team is over. The final roster for Belarusian national team to play in Bratislava will be announced tomorrow.
  7. There is another exhibition game for the Belarus national team against Barys today. The score was 4-4 after 3rd period. Two experienced forwards from the KHL clubs Shane Prince and Geoff Platt joined the Belarusian team and played today, Klimovich did not play.
  8. Klimovich played for the Belarus national team in exhibition game today vs KHL club Barys from Kazakhstan. The score is 2-1 for Belarus, not much statistics info for the game, Klimovich with 1 SOG and -1. You can see him shortly in the video on the bottom of this page https://hockey.by/gamecenter/150943/ at 1:29 and 3:08, he is # 88 Klimovich played on the line with Francis Paré (34 y.o.) and Pavlovich (33 y.o.).
  9. Dinamo, Minsk will play on NA rink size (60x26 m) this season. In previous seasons the club played on the Finnish ice rink 60x28 m. Head coach of the club is Craig Woodcroft: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Craig_Woodcroft
  10. In his recent interview today, the general manager of the KHL club Dinamo, Minsk said that the club is in discussion with the NHL clubs from Vancouver and Winnipeg about two 2021 draft picks (Klimovich and Kuzmin) signed to ELC contracts. This is possible that those two players could be loaned to Dinamo, Minsk https://belarushockey.com/khl/news/2021/08/18/dva-igroka-iz-nhl-mogut-perejti-na-pravah-arendy-v-minskoe-dinamo/
  11. The tournament will take place on August 26-29 in Bratislava, capital of Slovakia. Klimovich is not going to get his Canadian visa at that time anyway. This tournament fits perfectly to provide Danila with good practices and games to come to the Huskies pre-season games and Canucks training camp in great shape.
  12. The Huskies team plays pre-seson games starting Aug 19, Klimovich is going to miss these games in August due to waiting for Canadian work visa. If he has applied for the visa in beginning of this month and everything goes well, then he might come to Canada in first half of September. Huskies also plays pre-season games on Sep 11, 18, 25. Klimovich is listed on the QJMHL site as a Huskies forward https://theqmjhl.ca/roster/11
  13. Klim has always been an offensive force regardless of his age
  14. This is just my expectation because he is so young, moving to another country for long period of time and the fact that his dad is so much involved in the Danila's hockey career. The issue might be getting Canadian visa for his dad but hopefully the Canucks organization could help them with this.
  15. I am expecting Danila to come to NA with his dad. I mean his dad does not need to work in Belarus anymore with amount of money Klim is going to be paid in the AHL - 172,500 USD is roughly 215,000 CAD. Minus taxes, this is still about 135,000 CAD per year.
  16. Abby Canucks team is hiring the communication and team services manager: https://www.abbynews.com/sports/abbotsford-canucks-hiring-communications-and-team-services-manager/
  17. Spencer Martin - 6'3" 205. Has 1-year contract for 800,000 in the NHL and 105,000 in the AHL.
  18. Danila and his dad in 2017
  19. I believe you mean Dinamo Minsk. This is name of the KHL club you were asked about...
  20. There was short interview with Klim yesterday - we can call him Klim just like his teammates in Belarus do, this is perfectly fine. Russian teenagers often call each other by short version of their surnames, just recall the famous playoff interview with Nikita Kucherov where he call Vasilevsky "Vasya"! And back to the interview. https://hockey.by/news/intervyu/news148168.html "I am excited to be drafted in the NHL and very thankful to Vancouver for this. I have worked hard for many years to reach this goal. Vancouver is very beautiful city. They have very good team there." What kind of player are you? I am a sniper, I like to score goals. I think that Vancouver fans are going to be happy with my play. Do you watch some American TV shows? Ah no, I watch mostly sport channels Sportsnet, TSN. I have paid subscription. So in general, I am a big sport fan. What other sports beside hockey do you like? I often watch basketball, watched European football championship recently. My favorite football team? Let it be Manchester City. In the NBA I am a fan of Chicago and Lakers. How did you learn about your draft? I had practice and went to a shower afterwards. Then my teammates came to me and said that I was drafted. I lost all words and run to my dad. He is big part of my hockey career. I train with him every summer. I would not be here without his support. What are your next plans? I want to show myself in Vancouver training camp.
  21. I can confirm that Klimovich did not play for Dinamo Minsk in its exhibition game against Sibir. He is not supposed to, after signing NHL contract with Canucks due to the liability issue. What if he is injured in a game for a KHL club..? Sounds odd that the Klimovich agent does not know these things.
  22. Just to remind what AHL team belongs to which NHL club. Hmm this is not updated yet with name of Abby Canucks but you get a general picture...
