  1. Jeff Paterson ‏@patersonjeff 6h6 hours ago Everybody say it together now: Tram-kin. Got it? Good. Brad Ziemer ‏@BradZiemer 6h6 hours ago Greater Vancouver A, British Columbia Told by Russian interpreter that Tryamkin's name is pronounced Tram-kin. Y is silent #Canucks Actually this is not true. Pronunciation of letter Я in his last name ТрЯмкин is similar to the one in word "young" i.e. it sounds like / jʌ /.
  2. Vancouver Canucks ‏@VanCanucks 5h5 hours ago Tryamkin has stayed in touch with Horvat, Virtanen and McCann since being drafted. #Canucks Vancouver Canucks ‏@VanCanucks 6h6 hours ago Intrigued... Tryamkin skated for an hour this morning after getting just 45 mins of sleep after arriving in Van.
  3. Link to his last interview with Avto club (in Russian) dated March 9: http://www.hc-avto.ru/news/1234/ First several questions were about regular season and playoffs. Then some questions about Vancouver. Basically Tryamkin said: The season was over, we lost in playoffs. I thought why not go and try instead of two months of vacation. In this case I would know what to expect for next season. My physical attributes should help. I would not be surprised by playing on small ice rinks. I have been at the training camp with four-five players who are with Canucks now. All are nice friendly guys, two of them wrote to me after the season end and asked if I was going to come. I played against one of them Bo Horvat during the world junior championship in the bronze medal game. Every hockey player dreams to play in the NHL. I have not talked to the club management yet, all communications were through my agents. Vancouver wanted me to come for long time. Yes, you can say that Vancouver is my favorite NHL team now since they drafted me and signed contract. Right now my main goal is to make the team. Then we will see how the next season starts. If I am going to be sent to the AHL, then I would possibly return to Avtomobilist and play for my favorite home club.
  4. The KHL site officially listed him at 116 kg that is good for 255 pounds.
  5. Especially with Edler most likely gone for the season: TSN Radio VancouverVerified account ‏@TSN1040 6h6 hours ago Benning on Edler: Well, he has a broken leg. I would think he's probably out for the year.
  6. TSN Radio Vancouver ‏@TSN1040 6h6 hours ago Benning on Tryamkin: We'll monitor when he plays the games where he's at and see if he needs time in the minors.
  7. Jeff Paterson ‏@patersonjeff 6h6 hours ago Trymaking to arrive tonight, but WD says likely won't have him practice with team tomorrow. Wants to give him a day to adjust. Yeah 14-hour time difference with Yekaterinburg, I would say three days at least for acclimatization...
  8. TSN1040 5h5 hours ago Benning on Demko: We hope he turns pro, we get him signed, and we get him started on his course of development. Brendan Burke‏@brendanmburke 5h5 hours ago This would mean Thatcher Demko would be with the @Comets next season (and probably at least a couple more after).
  9. TSN Radio Vancouver ‏@TSN1040 12m12 minutes ago Ferraro on Tryamkin: He can kill the cycle (with his size). He can make a better than adequate first pass. I really liked him. TSN Radio Vancouver ‏@TSN1040 13m13 minutes ago Ferraro on Tryamkin: He's going to have a bit of shell-shock when he gets here. I'll be surprised if it isn't a significant transition TSN Radio Vancouver ‏@TSN1040 14m14 minutes ago Ferraro on Tryamkin: They should play him as much as they can, b/c they signed him to a two-year deal. So he burns thru the first year now.
  10. Blake Price ‏@BlakePriceTSN 5h5 hours ago Benning suggests his gut is telling him that Boeser returns to NCAA and maybe Demko turns pro. Far from official, but that's his "sense".
  11. I believe he may be sent to Comets for conditioning even after the TDL. Not sure about long period in the AHL, he might need to go through waivers due to his 3-year pro status...
  12. Just checked Avto fan forum - fans love Tryamkin and they are going to watch Canucks games now It is going to be new hockey connection like between Utica and Vancouver. Good for hockey, good for people - hockey really brings people from different countries together.
  13. I don't see problem with that - Nikita is not greedy, he is honest, respectful, straight forward person loyal to his team.
  14. My understanding from Nikita's previous interviews was that that was his agent who pushed Tryamkin to reject time in AHL because agent would get much less commission in that case...
  15. Found today's interview with his agent Vladimir Zorkin: http://www.championat.com/hockey/news-2402706-agent-trjamkina-v-igre-trjamkina-net-slabykh-mest-on-mnogo-rabotaet-nad-soboj.html "Tryamkin speaks English but not perfectly. At least he understands everything. He talked to international players in Avto and they understood each other".
  16. Well, the minimum salary for KHL player of 22 years age and older is 3 mln roubles that just a year ago was around $100,000 US. With the current currency rate around 70, his AHL salary would be close to the minimum KHL range. But he might get KHL contract with much higher salary rate considering that he played top minutes in his team.
  17. Vancouver Canucks ‏@VanCanucks 3h3 hours ago Desjardins, speaking about Russian Nikita Tryamkin (who arrives in town tonight): "Hockey is a common language. He'll have a chance to play". Vancouver Canucks ‏@VanCanucks 3h3 hours ago "He didn't know much english last time he was here. It was interesting talking, just wanted him to know I'm a friend!" - Hutton, on Tryamkin. Vancouver Canucks ‏@VanCanucks 3h3 hours ago "It's going to be awesome. I skated with him before at camp and he can move on the ice. He's a big boy" - Horvat, on Tryamkin #Canucks
  18. His KHL coach told in one of his interview that Tryamkin communicated well with international players in the Avto team in English...
  19. NEWS 1130 Sports ‏@NEWS1130Sports 16h16 hours ago There is a Russian translator on his way to Vancouver to help Tryamkin out with interviews. #Canucks
  20. NEWS 1130 Sports ‏@NEWS1130Sports 16h16 hours ago Tryamkin gets 832,500 dollars NHL base, 70,000 AHL salary. #Canucks
  21. Vancouver Canucks ‏@VanCanucks 5h5 hours ago Benning said #Canucks have filed a contract for Nikita Tryamkin; he will play in Van this season. "He's 6-8, 240 and mobile, he's a freak".
  22. Agree that Canucks team is now generator of any news. Disagree that they have not said anything more Dan Murphy ‏@sportsnetmurph 15h15 hours ago Linden says no road blocks with Tryamkin so far. NHL must OK KHL release first. Could sign + arrive as early as this week. #Canucks
  23. No any news in the Russian media so far... I am sorry for unintentionally creating political controversy in the Tryamkin's topic, I should think better beforehand.
  24. I hope that with new Liberal government things change. Mr. Harper and Co. put relationship between Canada and Russia to its lowest level, even worse than during the Cold War.
  25. This is not just visitor visa but rather the work permit one. I checked the Government Canada web site and such application process for a Russian would take in average 1 month. Sure Canucks should be able to speed up the process but by how much?
