  10. From The Province by Ben Kuzma: “It means to a lot to me — especially where I came from,” said Burrows. “It seems like it has gone by so fast, but I really enjoy coming to the rink. I was so close to packing it in. In the 2004-05 lockout year when I got sent back by the (Manitoba) Moose and was the last guy cut — it was a pretty good AHL year with a lot of guys who would have been in the NHL — I told my parents by Christmas if I’m still in the Coast (ECHL), I’ve got to find something else. I can’t really live off $425 when I’m 23 with no degree. If I want to raise a family, it was best to pack it in and go to school and find another avenue. “I’m glad after four games in the Coast that year, I got called up and played 72 straight in the AHL.”
