Hoglander was no more targeted by other teams than anybody else on Abby. He just took offence anytime somebody took the puck off him, or pushed him around. Far too many lazy fouls: tripping, hooking, slashing and the like - especially in the offensive zone. Garland, too is a small guy, but he sucks it up and gets the other team to take the penalty.

    I disagree 100% ( well, maybe 50%, see below)

I watched about 30 Abby games and the Hoglander I saw isn't who you are describing  - maybe his style changed in the other games I missed.  He takes a lot of guff, and gives back, often after an uncalled trip, or clotheslining, where the ref sees the retaliation and not the original infraction.  Got crosschecked a lot, in the crease brawls, and unlike the bigger Karlsson, was often to the neck vs the back.

Refs in the AHL let a lot of stuff go, moreso than in the NHL

My disagreement might be just 50% because, yes, he got penalized a lot in the playoff run,  often slashes and hooks, but I do think he was targetted more by Calgary, especially, just because he was Abby's most dangerous player, is smaller, and was known to have a short fuse.  Karlsson, his linemate, was less-targeted but ofc he is a much bigger body to try and knock around

  3. Although they both cleared waivers last October, I don't see Wolanin or Juulsen doing so this year after their strong Abby showing, and handling the big club decently in their.call up in March/April. Some team will see the potential of a decent 3rd pairing at minimum cost

Who was it that fell through a glass table in their own house for no reason?

Not forgetting Dustin Johnson, who missed the 2017 Masters when he slipped and fell down the stairs in the house he was renting there.  (Was the World #1 at that time and a strong favorite)

I love Hogs tenacity, speed, and skill... but I really dislike his total lack of discipline. He really adversely affected Abby with his entirely unnecessary penalties in the playoffs.

Many of them retaliatory ..other teams were targetting him, often after the whistle.  I had no problem with his feistiness - at least they weren't lazy penalties.   Same with Karlsson - he got hacked at every opportunity  but gave as good as he got, even with the full face mask on.

So, can we make a trade with Myers being the Future Considerations part which kicks in after September 1st with the money paid?? In which case we don't have to wait to make the trade.

Rachel Doerrie reports today on Sekeres and Price that Myers' $5M bonus was paid this week

Red Wings Development camp blows the Canucks camp out of the water.   Canucks really gotta step it up.   Did you see the Red Wings Practice facility… 1000 times better than the Canucks will ever have.   Check it out … their social media is light years ahead of the Canucks.

Even my AHL Coachella Valley Firebirds practice arena puts Canucks to shame ...

  8. Bret Hedican was another who was a forward until late teens when he switched to defense ...

When speaking of the decision, Hedican said: "I like to skate it up and see the play in front of me. That's what I liked to do

Hedican was drafted 198th overall by the St. Louis Blues in the 1988 NHL Entry Draft. At the time of his selection, chief scout Ted Hampson compared his speed to that of a "young Paul Coffey."[9]
