But who would be the "top 6" in my scenario. One might argue that Miller's line could be the top line, given his faceoff prowess and point production since coming here. It could be read as adding Hoglander to the #1 line.

If Lysell has an entitlement/attitude problem, what better team than the Canucks could there be? 2 revered Swedes in junior management, a superstar who's Swedish, the hardest working player, also Swedish, and (if brought back), the Patriarchal Edler. None would stand for any guff. And the kid is a sniper!! See:

That's why it would be a good move to have Miller center the 3rd line. He's not going to settle for 10 or 11 mins a game (although mins would increase if he PPs and PKs as well as having regular shifts 5 on 5) Miller between Podz and Hoglander would be an awesome line.

I didn't see the segment, but a golfing buddy mentioned it - was the piece where he commented on her black helmet worn from her Olympic or Worlds win. She was apparently nonplussed, and Ron did his disapproval thing. He (my buddy) couldn't remember the exact words as he was multitasking, but looked up as Ron pulled a face. Bieksa hasn't been on since (3 games) and had been pretty much a mainstay prior to that. Maybe nothing to it, but just seemed odd.

On a totally unrelated topic (didn't want to start a thread in case it amounted to nothing) but has Bieksa been disciplined by HNIC? He hasn't appeared on the last 3 panels, and last time he was on he had Ron McClean rolling his eyes and showing his "pained face" on a somewhat sexist comment he made to Cassie. Couldn't find anything on Google, but strange that Ron didn't even comment on his absence.

Sometimes guys just come out of nowhere, but yes, he has 15 points in 84 NHL games. But remember Druce? 26 points in 93 games, then came the playoffs and he went 14 goals in 15 games for Washington. Graovac was a pont a game for the Moose on his loan there before his injury, so he has it in him at some level - NHL, though? Not on the evidence so far, but I am rooting for him

With Hughes guiltier than most .... that's why I think those dreaming of Rathbone being in the running for the Calder are going to be disappointed. He won't rack up the PP assists that are necessary with only 15 seconds at the end of a PP after QH has done his stuff (Unless he mans the right point with QH on the left ....... )

Good perspective from Canucks Army ....... https://canucksarmy.com/2021/06/25/canucks-antoine-roussel-prime-candidate-bounce-buried-minors/

"Abbotsford Arrows" has a nice ring to it as well - with aviation connections (the Avro Arrow .. putatively the most advanced fighter of its time) ... native Indian connotations ..... regional, with the Arrow Lakes a few miles inland. And I am sure Burr would approve, with that iconic image of him shooting an arrow skywards for his buddy, LB, after a goal.

Swagger - Which current player has the most?

Marky had swagger. When he waddled onto the ice gametime, he projected "boss" -

It was Milan Lucic that "benched" Bailey - Green was just an innocent bystander -
My musings: The Eagle (after the UK ski-jumper, Eddie the Eagle) is so apt for Edler with his wingspan (although might better describe Myers - what is he, a Great Auk? ... Albatross is reserved for Eriksson) Honey Badger was one of the best (Tony Stretcher also good) Never liked "Tree" for Tryamkin - al sorts of negative connotations for a Russian ( think pylon) I liked "The Professor" for Larianov, also "Tank" for his sidekick (although morphed into "Vlad the Inhaler" for his fondness for hot dogs) For sure, Rathbone will be Bones, and Lockwood will be Woody While Nazzy was a great name, Burr and Kes were kinda bleh. As are Mysie, Millsy and Suttsy (Sudsy?) Motter isn't bad. Demmer is OK, I guess Hughes should be just "Q" ... shades of the Bond character inventing all sorts of lethal variations on everyday things - that's our boy!!

Come on, Jim. Get him signed and he can hone his skills in Abbotsford for a season or two.

Woody should bond with Podz at camp, get on a line together then agitate for Miller as their Center. That'd be a real pain to play against as well as a scoring threat every shift

Or Woody, from Toy Story .....

Hmmm .... Weber, 36 Martinez, 33 Hedman, 30 Leddy, 30 All 4 playing in the SC semis, and playing well. Maybe it's a gene thing for them, but it shows it's not automatric that a D regresses at 30

There is a 3rd. Hughes moves to the right D. He has played there, says he is equally comfortable there, and has also said that in some ways he prefers there as he can be more unpredictable in his offense by adding that "cut to the center" move as well as essentially making the rink "wider" as he can hug the boards and still have good angles to pass or shoot from there (I think it was in his first 5 game season exit interview where he commented on this) That would add a whole new dimension to the partner discussion - an appropriate left side D partner. Could be Edler for a season or 2, with OJ as understudy (or Brisebois) or add from the FA market. (Or, a long shot, Untunen) Or Schmidt. Pairing them together didn't work so well in the few games it was tried, but that was with Schmidt playing right D..... switch them at least in an exhibition game or 2 to see if there is any chemistry there with that formation. (Except that a decision would surely have been made before training camp or exhibition season) But will likely he Hamonic

Exactly - he's salivating at a new Tre-Kroner line - Hoglander and Linus Karlsson as his wingers
