[Report] Canucks announce coaching staff updates
Googlie replied to -Vintage Canuck-'s topic in Canucks Talk
He has a great relationship with Rathbone - was cited by Jake as one of the reasons he signed when he did. https://www.facebook.com/Canucks/videos/277600053510984/ -

I think he has to wait until the ED is over. For all we know he might be working a deal with Seattle for them to get our '21 second and '22 first plus a prospect for them to select Eriksson (or some such combination). Or in the absence of such a deal, and they select Holtby. He needs to know how much "wiggle room" he has before settling on term for the pair -

I wonder if Jake Kielly gets a qualifying offer? He's now an RFA coming off his $700k ELC -
"6 of those (7) teams could have been a playoff team ..." Ottawa was always going to miss, in most people's opinion, thus just 2

Apparently it was a relatively simple and easy to execute system too ........."Pass it to me, and I'll score" -
Exactly. As the future captain of the Russian national team he is, and will remain, squeaky clean

Good that Higgy has been renewed too -
Update ... from CanucksArmy. Good to know that JB has been in discussions with his agent https://canucksarmy.com/2021/06/09/want-start-playing-hockey-soon-possible-canucks-prospect-dmitri-zlodeyev-massive-year-ahead/

Podz is 3 months younger than Silovs, but about a year behind him in marriage. Arturs and his wife both speak Russian, but I am guessing they will be in Abbotsford, otherwise I could see some natural bonding there

Caulfield is 1" taller but 10 lbs lighter than Petrus Palmu. I guess PP was carrying too much weight to be effective. Lysell is 1" taller than our own Hoglander, and 9 lbs lighter, so by extrapolation (projection?), should be a superstar compared to Hogz

Expansion draft: A golden opportunity for the Canucks

Good write up for Seattle fans (everyone, really) on understanding the draft. -
[Rumour] Nolan Patrick requests trade
Googlie replied to 86Viking's topic in Trades, Rumours, Signings
Well, we did have a 24 yr old pot 9 goals in 4 games (en route to 28 goals in 53 games) in the AHL 2 seasons before. Checks in at 6'4" and 214 lbs, also plays a heavy game, but, and here's the kicker, can skate like the wind. Justin Bailey says "Hi" -

Extend Rafferty, a RHD, and offer him and a 2022 2nd for Patrick If OJ is expendable, deal with Seattle .... leave him unprotected so long as they take Eriksson in a trade (mb a 5th in 2023, or something like that) -
I think the point of those front loaded contracts isn't to make them buyout proof, but rather to facilitate a trade at the tail end when the actual salary is lower. The cap hit ofc is averaged out over the term of the contract, but prudent salary management will make it putatively easier to trade towards the end. So I credit (blame?) Canucks management, and not Eriksson's/Roussel's agents for the situation we are in.

Yes, and Troy's dangle was set up by a fabulous drop pass by Mangiapane who then went to the net for the tap in

who won the Austrian Grand Prix? Lauda who won the Austrian Grand Prix? Lauda WHO WON THE EFFING AUSTRIAN GRAND PRIX? LAUDA, EFFING LAUDA -
Peering into my crystal ball, I see Green giving Podz a couple of exhibition games on Petey's left wing and him absolutely killing it, making it his own for the rest of the season. Miller then gets his wish to center his own line, and JB gets his wish for a true top 9, dangerous in every situation but equally responsive defensively

He only wore #19 for 3 games 3 seasons ago. He's worn #92 last 2 seasons. Never has worn #91 (that was Linden Vey's number last season with St Petersburg)

So I ran the simulator 10 times ( I'll do more, ofc) ... Twice at 2 Six at 9 One 10 One 11 (Interestingly, at both my 2's, Seattle drew 1st) Woohoo - on the 21st .. .
