  1. Linden Vey's thought on Podz ....
  2. Or St Louis. They got a good look at him in Utica as well.
  3. He was playing a little above his pay grade, though, so it's hardly surprising he struggled. He was scheduled to play for Kalamazoo, but their season got Covid-cancelled
  4. Let's not forget Bailey in all of this. He was, after all, the first call up and had displaced Jake in the lineup until his Lucic encounter. He has size, more than enough speed, and soft hands for a big guy. Even in the AHL you don't get three hattricks in 4 games by being a plug. Has to be resigned, though (and might catch Seattle's eye)
  5. Lind is the type of player we have hungered for these last 2 seasons. Is a pest around the net, always in the post-whistle scrums. 2 or 3 times we would hear the Comet's color guy say "and Lind doing the usual Lind things" as the camera panned in on him doing a face wash, or nose to nose with a defender, sticks up. He's abrasive without crossing the line like a Marchand, but does draw the attention of the defence when he is around the net. If Benning/Green do go with Miller as a Center, Lind would be a great winger for him.
  6. Should be possible. San Diego Gulls has for the past few years been broadcasting home games on local Fox (for some reason, I get this station in Palm Springs), and this last season all Comets home games were televised thru Nexstar (see link). And AHL-TV isn't that expensive - last shortened season was only US$29 for the season, covering every AHL game http://www.uticacomets.com/news/detail/comets-announce-first-ever-live-television-partnership-with-nexstar-inc
  7. Center isn't his favorite position, though. 18 months ago (2 years maybe) he was interviewed by the English language Moscow Times (I googled, but couldn't find the interview) but, paraphrasing, said that the Russian coaching system required the center to be almost a 3rd defenseman, the trailer on the offense and first man back on D. He prefers the winger position, forecheck and puck retrieval, bang and crash, dish off then go for the tip in or rebound. Green's system (?) might be different, ofc - he might take to it like a duck to water. Who knows?
  8. Lol - why did I think I could scoop VC?
  9. Good video just out re his NhL debut .......,
  10. Back to Gadjovich... I don't see him as Seattle's type of player. Ron Francis has said he's following Vegas example - fast 2nd and 3rd liners for forwards and mobile puck-moving 2nd line defenders, interspersed with some Free Agents and "protection" deals that fit that mold. Gadjovich doesn't check any of these boxes. I am not sure that Lind does either. Motte and Highmore do. I don't know enough about Madison Bowey, but he might fit the bill. Holtby does, ofc, but hasn't really helped his cause this season. (They might, otoh, go outside the box and take Virtanen, assuming nothing comes of the inquiry)
  11. Would be ironic if they did pick Highmore from us, and Gaudette from Chicago, two players traded for each other maybe ending up on the same line for a 3rd club!
  12. Seattle taking Highmore makes most sense for them. One year left until RFA on a cheap ELC, speedy versatile winger who can play both sides, has played 91 NHL games
  13. Interesting take from Dobber - forecasting the Kraken will take Lind ..... https://dobberhockey.com/2021/05/24/wild-west-seattle-kraken-expansion-picks/

Canucks Army had a good couple of reads recently on this topic........ https://canucksarmy.com/2021/05/22/exploiting-expansion-draft-part-one-eight-targets-right-side-canucks-blueline/ And ..... https://canucksarmy.com/2021/05/23/seven-more-right-handed-defence-trade-targets-for-the-canucks-exploiting-the-expansion-draft-part-two/
  16. In all fairness, the club thought highly enough of him to invite him to the bubble reserve list, but he declined. I hope this wasn't held against him. Then JB did give Baertschi's agent permission to solicit interest from other clubs. As was pointed out earlier, he isn't a bottom 6 player, and there wasn't room in the top 6
  17. Home is Portland. (Played 2 seasons as a junior with the Winterhawks) He has NHL wheels, and an NHL shot, just such a shame that Jim put the "tentative" label on him 2 summers ago. Ofc he was, after 2 concussions (I bet Crosby was "tentative" his first few games back ... as will Tavares) but saying so certainly didn't help his trade chances. I still think Seattle will take a flyer on him (and even if you are from Switzerland there are a lot of worse places to spend winters than Palm Springs)
  18. Russia has only filled 26 of their 28 slots (still need a forward and a 3rd goalie). They are waiting till the end of the 1st playoff round to see if any NHL vets might be interested. If not, then 2 will be brought up from the pool. Podkolzin still might be the forward who is brought in
  19. I agree, except that maybe we are now talking about top 9 roles. If Green indulges Miller, we have 3 centers - Bo, Petey and JT. With chemistry as a guide, pairings would suggest Pearson with Bo and Boeser with Petey. Hoglander played well with Miller these last few games. Lind was auditioning for Bo's line, and didn't look out of place, so let's start with Bo between Pearson and Lind. Unless an UFA is picked up, or a minor trade, we're looking at 2 of Podkolzin, Roussel, Highmore, Motte and Lockwood. I think Highmore plays with Miller and Podz with Petey and BB06, at least to start the season until Lockwood gives a few more looks. I'm fine with renewing Graovac as a 4th line center. With Lockwood and Motte that would be a real energy line (or with Zack and Podz would be a heavy, hard- checking line) But JB says he is looking to acquire a skilled, middling, scoring player - he obviously doesn't think Lind, Highmore et al is that player (or he sees Podz as a 4th liner to start)
  20. I wouldn't be surprised if the Kraken offered him a 1 year "show-me" contract after he goes UFA
  21. What struck me from the 650 interview was that JB consulted not only Horvat (ok, team captain, voice of the the team etc) but also Hughes (!!!!!) on Green's contract extension........ that surprised me.
  22. Role model for social distancing? How apart can he be and still remain effective?
