  1. So is Green playing Eriksson on Bo's line these last five games, to showcase what he can do for Seattle? (Is actually a valid option for them - high cap hit, getting them quickly to their floor, but actual low salary). If his hands of stone could get some Bo-tox injected, great, otherwise, roll tank, roll
  2. And if NJ drafts Luke Hughes, expect to see a lot of posts in the wishful thinking trade threads here ...."Devils player x, player y, a 1st and a 2nd to Vancouver for Quinn Hughes ....."
  3. It'll never happen (next season) but I'd like to see a d corps of: Hughes - Schmidt Rathbone - Woo Juolevi - Rafferty Perhaps Woo needs another season (or partial) in Abbotsford, in which case a Hamonic resign would be great, but I think it is time for Edler to gracefully hang them up, and I wouldn't be averse to Seattle picking Myers (but ofc he'll be protected so that ain't gonna happen) I could see Brisebois and Chatfield commuting fairly regularly between Vancouver and Abbotsford
  4. Exactly. Take Hoglander for example. Standard ELC has a $212,500 bonus for 20 goals. This 56 game season sees it prorated to 56/82 × 20 goals (=14) paying 56/82 × $212,500 (= $145,122), and not escrowed. A huge incentive for Hoagie to pot 2 in these last 5 games. (And prolly Green wasn't up to speed on that when he sat Nils for the 2 minutes of empty net)
  5. And if he gets his 100th, he'll want 3 more to push him into the too 100 of NHL defensemen in goals.
  6. Except for players with performance bonuses. Hughes, for example, probably has around $850k riding on where he finishes among NHL defensemen in # minutes played, goals, assists, points, maybe PP stats too. Pettersson Is shut down, so can't change his totals, but others can, like Juolevi and Hoglander. I get that some fans just want to write off those remaining games, but they are far from meaningless for players on entry level contracts
  7. Final score 3 - 1, Mikey just missing a shutout by 76 seconds
  8. Mikey just missing a shutout as he concedes a goal with 1:16 left in the game vs Rochester. Final score 3 - 1 on goals by Arseneau, Woo and John Stevens
  9. Lotus Elan +2S-130 G/f and I called her " Blossom" (Obviously)
  10. I'll add my name to those thanking UticaHockey for the contributions over the years. Always insightful, and usually nuanced in ways that we who just watch the AHLTV feed dont see. Good luck with the new (old) affiliation.
  11. Is it too much to ask for just 1 hit by a Canuck? To show we have some pride? Some pushback?
  12. This is a meaningless game so why not see what Hoagie can do on the penalty kill?
  13. Pionk is making a difference for the Jets tonight. Fresh legs We should have had Juolevi replace Edler for this game
  14. So Hoglander has the same # goals as Tim Stutzle. Wonder if that puts him into the Calder conversation?
  15. They aren't easy assists any more either. For a few games he could just pass to Rathbone on the PP, and watch as he blasted it to the net and Gadjovich tipped it in or jammed home a greasy rebound. I wonder if last season was an aberration - more goals (14) than assists (13).
  16. Yeah. - I just saw that clip. Teach me to get to the last page before jumping in with my 2 cents!!!!!
  17. Ah, but he was ....... https://www.nhl.com/news/vancouver-canucks-add-five-more-players-to-covid-protocol-list/c-323199032
  18. I'd hazard a guess that if Edler gets his 100th this season, he'll retire in the summer
  19. Don't confuse me with facts. Wallowing in ignorance is one of life's little remaining pleasures
  20. Take away Gretzky's 113 empty net goals (or whatever the number) and he'd be 17th in all time NHL scoring. A goal is a goal whether deflected off an oppo player, off your own body, or into an empty net. There are no fotos on the stat sheet
  21. I thought that Green's take was right on. He had Edler out for most of the 2 minutes empty net. Give him a chance at a once-In-a-lifetime 100th goal. Hogz has 15 years to get multiple hatties.
