Oilers. We were owned by McDavid, so might as well claim to have been owned by the eventual Conn Smythe winner -

So ifJets pull the goalie, do you feed Hoagie for the hattie, or Edler for his 100th? -
Final - Utica 3, Syracuse 0. Jasek with 2 apples. Nolan Stevens 2 goals

Can't see if anyone posted already, but Stevens breaks the tie with his 5th, assisted by Jasek, Utica leads 1 - 0 with 6 mins left -
Stevens 5 mins into the 3rd, with his 5th, assisted by Jasek, makes it 1 - 0 Utica

Tight battle down on the farm - scoreless after 2. Comets really missing their studs: Lind, Gadjovich, Lockwood and Rathbone -
Scoreless after one vs Syracuse. Hofer in goal. Keppen scratched. Stevens centering the big line with Anas and Baertschi. Jasek playing some shifts as a winger to Focht, some as center

Points, not goals, being referenced. Edler has 7 assists - none too shabby for someone playing shut down. -

Calgary still has a chance to oust Montreal from that 4th spot. - and they play us 4 more times. Can't see them getting cancelled if the Flames are still in the hunt. -
Some open ice hits like this would be welcome (like a guided missile!!!) - and he can defend himself

My take is that Jim is forming an opinion of which UFAs and RFAs he wants to resign, so likely we'll see a couple sit the last 2 or 3 games to make way for the Lockwoods and Gadjovichs. I'd bring back Graovac, Hawryluk, Bailey and Lind and let Sutter, Baertschi, Boyd, Vesey and Michaelis go. (Highmore has another year left on his contract, like Roussel)

This is my last comment on this - don't dig the hole any deeper ..... https://www.cjfe.org/defamation_libel_and_slander_what_are_my_rights_to_free_expression

You have proof that Jake can "show him how to chop a line proper and force women into his bed"? If so, I am sure the investigators would love to interview you.

Probably right. He's 6' and 171 lbs. A not-quite-as-tall Pettersson. Fairly durable though, wins his share of puck battles

I like Graovac. Character guy

It's his versatility that's impressive. Last 2 games he has had shifts centering Anas and Baertschi, some shifts as Focht's winger and some as the winger on the Stevens brothers line. First PP unit and first PK unit, and is given first overtime shift centering Baertschi with Woo on D He's a pass first Center though, not too well suited to be paired with a couple of puck-diggers. Needs a finisher, which is why he meshed well with Boucher last season and with Baertschi this year. Powerplay runs through him.

Came across this good write up .... https://dailyhive.com/vancouver/canucks-gadjovich-ready-nhl-debut

I wonder if Petey will invite him over in summer to his place in Sweden for some bonding and dry land workouts? (And maybe Myers will invite him to Kelowna a few weeks before training camp to work on stuff like skating and shooting)

Apropos Podz adjusting to life in Vancouver and playing a north American style game, I came across this gem ...... https://www.washingtonpost.com/archive/sports/1989/10/24/soviets-adjusting-to-the-american-way/06a1768c-494a-4dff-a5f3-d84521b7145f/

In one of his Observer-Dispatch interviews, Cull said he talks daily with Green about systems, strategy, player development, etc. So they are on the same page. I am sure that it's only a matter of time before Rathbone, for instance, replaces Schmidt or Myers on our PP2. He was a force there in Utica. As well, introducing Juolevi to our PK units is a no-brainer... he was the go-to guy there last season. Personally, I think that OJ is being groomed as the minute munching Edler replacement. The one big disappointment for me is Green not deploying Rafferty. Guy was a sensation last year. AHL all star. If I am Seattle, forget Holtby or Myers or Gadjovich - pick Rafferty (if Vancouver extends him) or sign him as a UFA. He could be to them what Shea Theodore is to Vegas

Snippet from "Canucks Army" of a couple of weeks ago. Was noticeable last night ..... Another familiar sight over the past couple of games is a second line that features rookie Carson Focht between veteran Curtis McKenzie and Nolan Stevens. That trio plays with some physicality and Focht has been a big part of that. He is quickly becoming a player who opposing defenders need to be aware of when he is on the forecheck. He moves on them quickly and isn’t afraid to lay the body when the opportunity presents itself. No points for Focht in this one, but he had a solid game.
