He's had 3 great hits so far in the game -
Yeah - he only had the 3 or 4 games with Laval beforemhe was recalled. Last notice I saw was that he had been assigned to the taxi squad along with Graovac. But you are right, Capfriendly has him in the minors. As an aside, how can Vancouver have 8 players on the taxi squad? I thought it was limited to 5 skaters plus a goalie, or 6 skaters if the roster had 3 goalies on it. Our squad has 6 skaters plus 2 goalies. Everyone has now cleared covid.

Green alluded to that (insinuated it, maybe) in his pre-game presser. If Edler/Myers were gassed after a 3 minute shift imagine how the goalies feel after 6 or 7 minutes without a whistle -

Saturday's at the earliest - comes out of quarantine today -
Don't know if it is still the case, but at the season stoppage a year ago I remember Cull saying he and Travis talked on a nightly basis. Discussed players, systems, zone entries, PP and PK strategies etc. Wanted to make sure that the prospects were developing "in the right way" I am guessing that TG is fully aware of what Gadjovich is doing this season

Boucher with the only goal in Omsk's 2-1 loss to Moscow in the KHL finals. Down 1 - 0 in the series

Probably the result of a drunken bet -
Yeah - JB has now structured a few that way. Virtanen's is similar (not the actual $$ though) .... $1.7M this year, $3.4M next year ( that included a $400k bonus)

Yeah - rereading it I could have been clearer ..... "Wait until after the ED to sign him, but then Seattle has a window before the ED to approach him ..." would have captured what I was trying to say. Wordsmithing is an ever challenging art, even for a dilettante author, especially as one grows older!!

It's a good problem to have. We actually have a glut of defencemen right now, except that many are promising prospects rather than cagey veterans. If ever there was a year to see what the rookies can do, it may be this one. If Montreal wins another and we drop one or to to Ottawa, then I'd play Rathbone, Juolevi, Chatfield, Rafferty, Brisebois et al in most situations to see what we have in them (not all together though, maybe 3 per game max). With the draft uncertainty, this is likely the year when it least matters if we draft 5th, 15th or 25th

I think Myers is cut from the same mold as Tram ( or vice versa). Tall, rangy, smooth skating defencemen who aren't afraid to get their noses dirty clearing the crease or mucking in the corners. Can both give, and take, a hit to make a play. Myers may be more offensively gifted, but that may be more of a coach holding Tram back than inability on his part. IMO we're a better team with both patrolling the blue line
-
That was implicit in my post. If signing him as a pending UFA made him Seattle's Vancouver pick, then obviously it happened before the ED day. In the interests of brevity I didn't quote the entire entry draft rules (which I did in a post elsewhere)

Much as I love Schmidt's whoops, enthusiasm and garrulous interviews, and Edler's loyalty and dedication to the team, I think we trade Schmidt in the summer and hold off resigning Alex until we see what our cap position is in the fall. A left side of Hughes, Rathbone and Juolevi , matched by a right side of Hamonic, Tryamkin and Myers would be the result, with a selection, if all resigned, from Bowey, Chatfield, Rafferty, Sautner, Brisebois and Woo (Utunen?) making up the 7th and 8th D-men Would Tram-bone be a better pair than Schmid-ler? Pluses and minuses for both pairs, but a huge difference in cap hit. And would mean we could resign Hamonic and protect him, Myers and Juolevi, thus making Holtby or Virtanen more attractive to Seattle
-
Hamonic is a tough decision for both the team and for him. We may end up losing him either way - resign him but dont protect him, very attractive to Seattle. Wait until after the ED - then Seattle has a window to approach him as a pending UFA and ink him to a contract (that then becomes Seattle''s pick from Vancouver). If the case is overwhelming that he is the ideal partner for Hughes, then maybe we sign and protect him, but expose someone like Myers or Juolevi instead. Or if unsigned, rely on Hamonic turning down any Seattle overtures. Might be a hard decision for him if the money under discussion varies significantly

Indeed we should. Heres a guy who has made a commitment to learn English, was ready to come back last year but understood the problems Benning faced with covid and the flat cap so signed a 1 year deal with the KHL. And by all accounts got better, accepting a more defensive role at the expense of offence Now he's ready. Will come over early summer to acclimate and meet with the training staff to find out what they think he should work on. There's commitment and maturity. There's a guy who sees the exciting future of our Canucks and wants to be part of it. 6'8" smooth skating hard hitting defensemen who can play either side are rare. I, for one, am excited!!

Who will be the one?????? (Or more? Since the covid restart we have 4 players scoring at a goal a game pace: Horvat, Sutter, Pearson and Hoglander Who will score in this game? (And as an aside, how clutch has Bo's line been with 6 goals among them?) -
