  1. That was probably the generally accepted opinion before the last U20s. He got on the Swedish team cos they were covid-ravaged at center. Started the tournament as their 4th line center, but by tourney's end he was centering their 1st line, 1st unit PP, and 1st over the boards on the PK. His injury cost him this season, but I see a player driven to succeed. He may not be a Burrows, but a Ruutu or a Granlund type would be just fine for a bottom 6 player
  2. It's the secret cocktail that was in the IV drip everyone was(n't) getting
  3. Kraken fans will love him
  4. Lol - Greener looks like an older Faith (Buffy fans will remember) and JB could double for Susan Boyle
  5. Got to get to 888 before the big guy gets here
  6. Looks like everyone is wearing full face shields. I'm guessing that's mandatory in Finland right now.
  7. In all fairness, Green said Zack "was a little banged up after last game ..." His "last game" was a month ago!!!!! Went on to say he was satisfied with the 4 wingers he had playing, that Zack had to show him something. So it was a coach's decision PJ was right to call him out on that. At times Green can be too cute for his own credibility
  8. I vote to have Schmidt and Vesey on every pre and post game presser. With their 2 minute answers, the press would only be able to ask 2 inane questions every time
  9. He was ok, given the circumstances. He doesn't PP or PK, and there were 22 mins combined penalties, so his 4th line 5 v 5 time was limited. Was on the ice for the first goal against, but also on for the last Comets goal, so broke even in the +/- sheet. Has decent speed - not blazing fast but gets there, It was their big line that got burned - Sam Anas, arguably the Comet's best player, was a -3 on the night, and Jasek and McKenzie both -2
  10. Unfortunately Comets lost 6 - 2. (Same score as they lost last game .... both games played since Rathbone left the team have been 6 - 2 losses)
  11. Anyone else watching the Habs - Oilers game? Has a playoff feel to it, great pace, outstanding goaltending, and few whistles
  12. Comets have lost their last 2 games by identical 6 -2 scores since Rathbone flew west and Baertschi came down with injury
  13. Teves and Eliot on D, Focht, Lockwood, Stevens and Keppen up front. Rest were St Louis farmhands
  14. Gadjovich scores his 12th goal, unassisted, 1/2 way thru the 3rd to make it 3 -1. But Syracuse comes right back with an answering goal. 5 mins left in the game Cull pulls the goalie on a powerplay with 3 mins left, but Syracuse gets a shorthanded empty netter. 5 - 1 Final score 6 - 2
  15. Not 100% sure, but I don't think Rathbone is available until Saturday's game
  16. Comets down 3-0 to Syracuse end of 2nd. Getting outshot 29 to 15
  17. Sven not dressed for tonight's game, again. @Ray_Cathode posted a few days ago about Cull mumbling about some injuries necessitating healing time
  18. Having opted out of the playoff bubble, could it be that he has told management "don't bring me up to that covid cesspool, leave me here where I am safe and productive"?
  19. Riverside, CA would be cool. Pop 326,000 (c.f. Buffalo at 256,000). About 45 mins drive from Palm Springs. But only 30 mins from where Ontario Reign play (LA's farm team) so probably chasing the same fan base (except for Canucks fans, though)
  20. Be realistic, though. 200,000 viewers watch hockey in BC, 2 million in Ontario. They play to their audience
  21. Would likely be vetoed by the other Western AHL teams. It's one thing for a Vancouver- based team to go on a road trip thru San Diego, Ontario, Palm Springs, Bakersfield, Stockton, Henderson and Tucson, but totally different to expect these teams to fly north just for one - or two - games against the baby Nucks. Would significantly add to their costs.
