  1. And yet Horvat/Pearson's corsi % has been highest with Eriksson on their line than with any other player (similar to the effect Virtanen has on Petey/Miller)
  2. He is 6 '4" I am just under 6'7" and was standing next to him last week, and barely had to look down .... .... Oh, wait, I was standing next to my TV, which is wall- mounted
  3. Utica "graduates" I wonder what Gadjovich future is with us - he looks like he has gained a step or two in speed, and the couple of shifts I saw when he was with Graovac and Virtanen (I think that's who it was with) he made things happen. Jasek, too, didnt look out of place. Lind was pretty invisible I thought. Baertschi still belongs in the NHL. Bailey and big Mac both looked good. OJ is obviously ready, and Brisebois looked good too. Rafferty and Chatfield were ok, neither stood out. But likely one will stick in the taxi squad as RHD's aren't 2 a penny. Didnt notice Teves much, but as was mentioned earlier, is prolly cut today to make room for Hamonic. DiPietro will be the Comets starter, I would assume.
  4. Zoom in to that corner. ... Looks to me like Motte is just trying to lift Gaud's stick to prevent him from playing the puck, and momentum (and Gaudette trying to lift his out of the way) toppled Gaud. Some may even deduce that Gaudette dove (fell backwards) intentionally. Motte was unprepared for Gaud's reaction, signalling to me that there was no intent to injure on Motte's part. Just intensity on both sides
  5. Prolly somethig happened in 2015/16 between U of M and Northeastern that involved them (or maybe Gaud chirps Motte about his just being a HB finalist?)
  6. Don't feel so bad - most of us missed 1st period - couldn't find the feed
  7. He needs to go on the Bryson DeChambeau diet ( put on 40 lbs and added 75 yards to his drives) ..... Here's a quick breakdown of DeChambeau's general daily diet: Breakfast: Four eggs, five strips of bacon, toast, two Orgain protein shakes. Throughout day: Peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, GoMacro bars, snacks, two to three Orgain protein shakes. Dinner: Steak, potatoes, two Orgain protein shakes.
  8. Islay ones are peatier - some say it is an acquired taste. Speyside seem cleaner, but to my mind, kinda vanilla (think Glenfiddich)
  9. One year he bust a shoulder and couldn't golf, so we bought a Macbrayne Island-Hop ferry pass (chatting to one of the skippers, he told us that BC Ferries was the world gold standard for ferry operations!!!!!). We spent 4 days on Islay and toured 5 of the (then) 8 distilleries that were operating. My favorite was - and still is - Laphroaig, but all were good. Ardbeg, Bowmore, Caol Ila and Lagavulin were the others. That was quite the week
  10. Same friend also was a smoker, but said "I can quit anytime I want. I know, 'cos I've done it half a dozen times already"
  11. Yeah - I sympathize. Had a good friend who was a heavy drinker, functioning alcoholic really, who quit cold turkey. We used to fly first class on points every summer to golf in Scotland and Ireland and I was amazed at his self control as all the free booze got wheeled thru the cabin. We went to a Bushmills tasting - 6 shots, and I had his 6 too. Could hardly stagger to the car afterwards (thankfully he was driving) I have since always respected people with the fortitude to quit
  12. Cap'n Morgan for me, in honour of Cap'n Bo getting a hatty tonight
  13. Here are the various US prices ..... https://tvanswerman.com/2021/01/06/spectrum-tv-directv-now-selling-nhl-center-ice/
  14. Wow - now that is extortion. Is Shaw the same?
  15. Some more Petey to tide us over till Wednesday .....
  16. Not hearing much of Lind either - seems like his window of opportunity may be closing with the addition of Hogs this year and Podz next year
  17. Yes - that was implicit in my speculation - although at their age I am not sure they would really want all those bus rides in the snow, playing the same teams 6 or 7 times with ramped up intensity
  18. Eriksson will likely accept a move to Utica - looks like his best buddy, Carl Gunnarsson will be sent there by the Blues, so he will have company
  19. Exactly - I am impressed by how many have been captains on prior teams and/or Hobey Baker finalists. Benning sure is picking character guys
  20. Didn't they get stricter last year to ensure that when the puck is cradled on the blade it is always below the crossbar level (some high sticks were called iirc)
  21. This year Center Ice in US is $99, vs $149 last winter
  22. Exactly what I thought. I tried to capture a still shot of the stick flex at impact and put side by side with one of Petey's but that skill is way above my pay grade Here's Petey's first NHL goal ...
  23. FWIW the year that Virt played under Green in Utica he was regularly used on the PK, so it is nothing new for either
  24. Don't see much wrong with this .....
