  1. Well, 4 of the 6 I named are listed as centers in both the team roster and the AHL stats (Camper, Graovac, Hamilton and Stevens) but who's quibbling over percentages? I'll grant you that both Jasek and Bailey are converted right wingers - or maybe I just saw them taking more draws than would be expected from a winger (iirc Kole Lind was over 500 in his faceoff win percentage) And I missed Seamus Malone - I think most of his Utica games have been playing center And "the glut" assumes that the centers signed by Utica are brought back next year, and that's not a given (And I see from the Bulis article on March 3 that Karlsson is mostly deployed as a winger) https://www.vancouverisawesome.com/canucks-hockey/canucks-prospect-linus-karlsson-is-on-fire-since-trade-to-new-team-in-allsvenskan-2136448 As for Focht here is Cam Robison's take: March 2020 – Focht had a productive 19-year-old season for the Hitmen. His goal scoring metrics increased while his per-game totals plateaued. He was especially impactful in the first-half. The fifth-round pick has played his four seasons of WHL hockey and is eligible to move on to the American League. However, it wouldn’t be overly surprising to see him return as a 20-year-old and look to really blossom offensively. The Utica Comets’ lack of centre depth may play a role in that decision. Cam Robison So I accept that my comments are of little value when stacked against those of the professional pundits - was just going by my armchair observations of over 1/2 the season games (But I do think Jasek is a keeper at center, and that we will see him with the big club before long)
  2. True. - although he did replace Ollie on the 1st unit PP when Juolevi went down with injury. And his +/- did take a bit of a hit when he lost Teves (as did Teves when he returned. - iirc he wasn't paired with Rafferty those last few games). They were a formidable pair together, although I do see Rafferty coming to the Canucks before Teves. I could see him thriving paired with Edler next season
  3. Teves was a large part of Rafferty's success in the first half of the season. Usually playing together, he was the defensive conscience of that pairing
  4. Not sure I understand lmm's post. Camper played 48 games scored 41 points Over 1/2 of Jasek's 56 games(27 points) were at center Stevens and Graovac, both experienced centers, were acquired specifically for Utica Hamilton played 28 games at center in an injury filled season Justin Bailey played center for about 1/3rd of his 53 games (47 points) And with Linus Karlsson and Carson Focht ready to move up, the problem may be a glut, rather than a dearth
  5. Didn't Linden Vey lead this chart 4 or 5 years ago? Obviously we should never have let him go
  6. Or maybe 96. As a nod to Bure?
  7. Is actually $7.25 an hour. Lowest in the US is Georgia and Wyoming at $5.15
  8. Voted Bure, nominate Tony Tanti
  9. I know that this has been the mantra for a couple of years, but this season has been different. Graovac and Stevens were great pick ups to complement Hamilton, Camper and Malone, and during an injury period Jasek came thru with flying colours as an emergency replacement center between Bailey and Lind for the most part but also seeing duty between Baertschi and Goldobin. I think Linus' development would be best served with another year in Sweden
  10. Gaud's Superman celly was a bit over the top though, for the 7 - 0 goal
  11. And a shutout for Demko. - with 57 saves to boot !!!
  12. And no disrespect from me either - if you noticed, I think he is our most exciting player. I am on the edge of my seat every time he begins a foray up the ice, cos we never know what he will pull off. But as a defenseman, does anyone else ice the puck so much? Sure, it is up to the forward to get a stick on those slapshot passes, but that's asking a lot of our team. He is undersized and still a kid, really, so can't be expected to dispossess every attacking forward of the puck, and doesn't. He is a minus player for a reason. Will he get stronger? Of course. Will he grow into a man's body, ofc. Will he soon be our best defenseman? Undoubtedly. But because some of us here don't think he is there yet isn't being disrespectful, it's just being realistic
  13. 1. Miller 2. Motte 3. Hughes 4. Edler
  14. Because he is not our best defenseman
  15. Much like any winger the Twins had
  16. The best leaf moments from the last decade ........ Ok, that's 2 minutes filled
  17. EA Sports has offered to have NHL20 played computer vs computer to determine the results of outstanding games NHL owners have countered by suggesting that each team designate a player to actually play NHL20 head to head in a sanitized room, matches to be televised live. Eriksson is the Canucks DP. ("I beat my kids all the time" he says)
  18. Now 3 - 1 with just over 3 minutes left in the game 3 - 1 final score
  19. Not much happening yet in the 3rd, a tight checking game with a couple of good saves either end. 8 minutes left
